About
With our apartment restaurant, our goal is to break with the often rigid atmosphere of the fine dining category and to deliver a high-toned, quality and unbeatable experience in a cozy and friendly environment. The idea was inspired by the success of dinner parties with our friends. In the beginning, we always held our dinners on Wednesdays, making it the highlight of our week. Later, 'Wednesday night' became a phrase amongst our friends and whenever we met, it was 'Wednesday night' regardless of what the actual day it was. We aim to bring back the atmosphere of these evenings and share an unforgettable dinner with our guests on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please book in advance!

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left (5 wonderful hours later), this was an amazing experience. We were greeted warmly by Igor and invited in with a glass of wine while Zaida was busy in the kitchen. This isn’t just about the food, it’s about the whole experience, which, for me was the best dining experience I’ve ever had. The apartment is beautifully decorated with an open plan kitchen so you can see Zaida at work the whole time and are invited to go and watch or have a look around if you want to. The food was out of this world and far too much to mention with it all cooked to perfection. The one thing that really blew me away though was the sugar bowl filled with semolina (picture) that was heated sugar that was then blown up like a balloon and filled with semolina! Amazing! It’s not Zaida that does all the work though, Igor does a great job of hosting, explaining everything and more importantly keeps the wine flowing! Seriously though, he really knows his wines as every one was beautiful and really complimented the dish we were eating at the time. It’s not cheap but where else are you going to eat and drink at a private dinner party with a chef who’s cooked in Michelin starred restaurants cooking for you? Worth every Forint. Thank you Igor and Zaida for a wonderful evening, maybe we’ll see you again next time we’re in Budapest. Reuben & Sarah.

A fantastic fine dining experience. Igor and Zaida have combined the warmth and informality of a “supper club” with high end food and service. The set menu is expensive but the wine pairing is good value and overall, if you’re looking for a memorable and different restaurant experience in Budapest- this is strongly recommended. (Whilst it is described as an ‘apartment’, and indeed it is situated in a residential block- the kitchen/dining area is very much of a restaurant feel with separate tables!)

The tasting menu is imaginative and very good and the wines are unusual and innovative. But what really sets this place above the competition is the genuine interaction of the hosts. The frontman is Igor, a young and passionate restaurant manager who loves to explain in detail each element on the plate or in the glass. The open kitchen allows the diners to watch wife Zaida quietly preparing each plate with Michelin style precision. At the end of the dinner, we also had the opportunity to socialize with a couple of other freindly guests and with Igor and Zaida themselves who joined us for our last drink. Add to that the ambience of the dining area, a beatifully converted apartment room with high ceilings and modern design and you really cannot ask for a more pleasant evening. A place for discerning clients who shun mediocrity and cheap stuff and who appreciate what real quality is all about.

We were very lucky getting a table here during our 3 night stay in Budapest, so glad we did! From start to finish the food and service was impeccable. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the paired wines were fantastic and the food was out of this world. The fact you can watch Zaida in the kitchen and chat about the ingredients and techniques is very unique, Igor is warm, knowledgeable and a fantastic host (reminds me a little of Fred Siriex). Thank you both for the experience it was an amazing way to spend our first wedding anniversary and I can’t recommend you highly enough, we look forward to seeing you again next time we are in town! X

I found this place solely from strip advisor and I’ll be honest was a little dubious how it would be, even up to the evening of our booking as it’s a completely unique experience. Basically the owners, a married couple, have converted an apartment into an open plan restaurant with a staff of just themselves. The chef, the wife, an outstanding Michelin standard chef and the husband a superb front of house maitre de/sommelier. We arrived at 19:00, took a couple of minutes to find the door, think speakeasy type vibe, and were the first ones here, shown in to the dining room and introduced to the chef. The rest of the guests arrive and we are all seated and then the show begins. 7 courses of what I would suggest is 2 Michelin star standard food, to be honest, in the right setting this would be knocking on the door of 3 stars and I’d know as I’ve eaten at many 3 star. I won’t give away each course as they are all so unique, fun, have local influences, amazing technique and beautiful plating, not to mention they’re all absolutely gorgeous tasting. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the wine pairing option for each course, quite honestly, the best wine pairing I’ve ever had. All Hungarian wines and all absolutely superb and matched to each course perfectly, explained in great detail by the front of house. This is a very intimate and personal setting, experience and location and you can tell the enthusiasm and pride the couple put into their trade. They’ve made a gamble to try and do something different but it has worked and is outstanding. In busy season they’re fully booked up to 2/3 months in advance and I can see why. This ranks up there with one of the best meals I have ever had. Top 5 without a doubt: if you do one thing in Budapest, go to this place if you can. Thank me later.

We went to Budapest for a long weekend and looking for a place to eat (we wanted somewhere special) and we found this place! Luckily someone cancelled and they had a table available that evening! The food was amazing! One of the best one we had in a while. The chef is a lovely lady and her husband is in the front serving, he is also very friendly, he is fluent in English, so he was able to explain the dishes and the whole concept in both languages which was really helpful. The restaurant is in a flat (only 5 tables). The whole experience started at 7pm and we left around 12 30. As the kitchen is right there, you can see how the chef prepares the meal and plates it. It is just amazing to see. We selected the premium wine pairing (just wow). The whole experience is a treat and they really make it feel special. We will definitely go again when we go back to Budapest! Thank you for the great experience

We had an amazing dinner and it's really a very nice and original experience. You can have the food quality of a Michelin star restaurant (the 2 owners actually worked in several before opening Zincenco) but in a relaxed atmosphere, with only 5 tables. You can even get up and go look in the open kitchen how Zaida prepare all the dishes! I totally recommend it!

We visited this restaurant with friends on a Saturday evening. The small restaurant had around 5-6 tables set in a cosy intimate room. The atmosphere was amazing and the hosts were welcoming and informative. We were greeted by Igor who took our coats and showed us to our table and encouraged us to chat with Zaida his wife and chef. We were given a beautiful glass of fizz which was topped up a couple of times while we waited for everyone to arrive. The only table booking is for 7pm and they only start the evening once everyone is seated. In total there were 14 of us and Igor started the evening by welcoming everyone and gave us a brief insight as to how they set up this wonderful place, we were also encouraged to walk around and watch Zaida cook. We all opted for the wine pairing and were given in-depth information about each wine with each course of the tasting menu, which was six in total. The food was nothing short of amazing!!! Zaida works away in the kitchen while Igor plays host and makes sure you are all ok, you can watch them plate up the food and everything was beautifully presented and described to you at each course. Igor explained how the wines would compliment the food and he was not wrong. They have their concept absolutely spot on!! We easily spent around 5 hours chatting, relaxing and really enjoying the fabulous food and atmosphere. This place is a must if you ever get the chance to visit beautiful Budapest. Thank you both so much for an unforgettable experience.

Let us discribe our night; Upon arriving in this extraordinary decorated apartment we were immediately served a glass of really nice bubbly. We were welcomed by Igor and Zaida and was asked to sit where we preferred. All guests were welcomed and encouraged to get off our chairs during the night and nosey around in the kitchen where Zaida was at it with the pots and pans. Igor served all dishes and presented them knowledgeably. Questions during dinner was encouraged. Each meal was extraordinary, we especially enjoyed a cold beetroot soup with vodka-infused sorbet with an interesting drink that was perfect with the dish and a complimentary Russian snack with fermented herring. It was obvious that the concept was well though out and the wine pairing is a must!! Five hours fly by here and all cutlery and glasses are inspiring for those who like decor. At the end of the night we were served liquor of our choice and Igor and Zaida joined the guests in a glass and some chatting. A perfect night for a wine and food loving couple, 5 hours spent here was a highlight of our trip!

The relaxed atmosphere belies the exquisite dining experience you will share with friends and a few new friends. Prepare for4-5 hours of small bites that are made with a passion for the cuisine. Igor is the consummate host explaining each course, the wine pairing, and at your service throughout the evening. The “magician” of the kitchen is lovingly preparing each course as if she were using her magic wand rather than kitchen utensils. Zaida is a bit shy but a true Master of her craft. Both Zaida and Igor make your evening an event to remember fondly for years to come! Do NOT miss this gourmet opportunity when visiting Budapest!

Ok, so this will be their 186/186 5 star review as I am writing this. That does not happen by accident. Igor and Zeida provide their guests with an incredible evening. Plan to be there for at least 5 hours. We arrived just before the prescribed time of 7pm and were the first to leave at 1230 AM. In their apartment restaurant you will be treated to a culinary experience of beautiful presentation and amazing tastes. Everything is so imaginative. The optional Hungarian wine pairing that went with each course was very well done as well. The passion that they have for making their guests feel like they are attending a dinner party shows through in everything they do. It is not inexpensive - with the wine pairing it was just less than $200/per person but it was so worth it for the food and experience!! I cannot imagine you will be disappointed if you go there. A very special treat!!!!

The food is prepared right beside you and it is so good with a nice wine paring with local wines. The service is impeccable and when I forgot my wallet in the taxi on the way home, the helped retrieve it again from the taxi company. The best restaurant experience I’ve ever had!

My partner and I have just had the most fantastic evening at Zincenco. The entire evening works like clockwork. You are greeted with a couple of generous glasses of bubbles and made to feel straight at home in the beautifully decorated restaurant apartment. Igor is a fantastic host and Zaida is such a talented chef preparing 12 people 6 courses throughout the evening. We initially booked due to the great trip advisor reviews, however you always have your doubts to how accurate and true these can be. I can assure you that this evening is worth every penny. The tasters, bread, home made butter, and 6 courses are an absolute delight, with the most incredible pairings and flavours. The wine paring is a must and Igor does a fantastic job of explaining the origins and history behind the wines and the dishes. The Sturgeon and Beef tonight were just mind blowing. The evening flies by as you are taken on a journey of Hungarian dining experiences. They welcome you to watch the food preparation and answer any question around the dishes. This is a Truly unique experience and was definitely the highlight of our holiday. Igor and Zaida are very nice genuine people who love hosting people. We will be back again next year. Happy New Year

Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history.
