With 32 beers on tap to sample there’s something for every taste of you enjoy craft beers. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and offered sample tastes and advice that catered specifically to personal preference. Food and bar snacks available, spacious underground cellar. Really pleased we found it. We will return

This place is very close to Liberty Bridge and the Gellert Hotel. The door is quite nondescript, but the bar looks great and is very large. Unlike many cellar bars, it is bright and freshly decorated. It's very appealing and welcoming with plenty of seats. Cellar bars can often be quite dark and dank but this one is not at all. There's music to compliment the buzz of conversation. It's a nice space for groups both large and small. The beers are displayed above the bar on a screen quite like an airport departure boards. There is info on style, brewery, strength and country of origin. Staff are well able to provide more info and tasters, if necessary. Beer flights are available. The selection is very high quality, too, from both local and international firms. It seems to be quite a new place and is a really great place to enjoy beers. I've not seen anywhere else similar in Buda.

Curiosity took us to the KEG Sormuvhaz on our way back from Lady on the hill alias liberty statue. When entering we were not aware of what kind of a restaurant it was as we simply descended on a flight of stairs to a basement cellar like area. Once inside only we realized how cozy and inviting this restaurant was. Surprising was the array of local and international beers they had on tap. Selecting something exotic from them was near impossible as they had a huge choice and were displayed in three electronic panels on which the brands and their originating country were displayed. Anyway, we were able to pick some good beers and keeping to our limits enjoyed them in the great ambience of this pub in a cellar. The dinner menu had dishes with some typical Hungarian traditional touch which we were most interested in tasting, Venison dish and beef stew to mention names. Meals were excellent and made to perfection. It was a reward for our curiosity and the glorious event of that day for us. To sum up it was a memorable evening at KEG that would linger for a long time in our minds.

I asked for a rare hamburger, specifying that I wanted it almost crude. The waitress served a dry overcooked hamburger that had the consistency andbtaste of a shoe's sole so I complained with a waiter and he said that kitchen is already closed, then didn't take any initiative. Another waiter took away the sole and when I complained again at the cashier the woman said " I am sorry" with the tone and attitude like she was sayin "I don't give a f*ck" and made me paying for the sole like nothing was wrong in their side.

Visited as part of bachelor party, we had booked table and were late however I called them to let them know and they said OK. We arrived 22:30 and were about to order food at 22:33, they refused that in an unacceptable rude style after only 3 min "closure" of the kitchen. Answer was like "you were also late, we close our kitchen, why should we serve you?" This is tipical Hungarian hospitality in an manner you'd never experience in an other country. Shame on them, not a penny to be spent at them anymore. I hope many reads this and they lose a lot of guests. Discusting style and speaking to guests!!!

Wandering around this part of the city we decided to drop into KEG Sormuvhaz and what a great find. Walking down into this cellar style craft beer bar I knew I would enjoy my visit here. Main room dominated by a very eye catching serving bar, beers on offer of which there are 32 on tap are displayed on screens behind the serving bar ,exposed brickwork, arched ceilings, wonderful decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this craft beer bar, its just a great bar to unwind in. We were here as this craft beer bar opened for the day at midday so we were the first customers of the day so we could really appreciate what a great looking craft beer bar this is ,we sat down and ordered West Coast ipa ,these were served in excellent condition ,we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. My ipa was really good, well balanced ,hoppy but not overhopped, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it we both enjoy, just a totally thirst quenching brew that was a great start to our day . These are the type of craft beer bars I love ,enough off the tourist trail so you know its a locals haunt. We both really enjoyed our ipa's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to KEG Sormuvhaz we were totally impressed. KEG Sormuvhaz is easy to locate along Orlay Utca. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're Buda side of the River Danube.

Stopped by at lunchtime and worked our way through the beer menu and had some ratatouille too. Service was very good and as it was such a nice day the waitress remained outside with us. There is a great selection of beers to chose from and the prices are very reasonable. Food was really tasty too. Really worth visiting after climbing the hills

Went at lunch time after walking up to the citadella and it was the perfect choice. Good local lunch at a really cheap price (1500HUF for 2 course meal) and really good variety of tap beers. Me and my partner both ended up ordering 5 beers tasting menu and did not regret our choice. Would love to come again!

Good range of beers (32) from a range of countries and you can order a float to sample ranges of 5. Very friendly service - lovely manager and waitress. Can sit outside in the side street on a sunny day or downstairs in the basement (which looked quite nice too). Food was quite good too - little delay in arriving but did not mind that as the quality was very good.

While walking around this fantastic area of Budapest me and my twin brother decided to visit here for a few craft beers. This was a superb craft beer bar that offers a brilliant range of craft beers and a fantastic range of food and was a joy to visit. The fantastic craft beer bar is housed in a fantastic exposed brick-walled cellar type area on Orlay Útca. There's superb fixtures and features throughout the whole interior and excellent seating option's and to top it off superb staff. We visited here fairly early in the afternoon and even at this time this superb craft beer bar was very busy which is how we like bars pub's and restaurant's as there's alway's a better atmosphere when places are full.On our visit we had a few of craft beer's which were superb and really well priced. This is a fantastic craft beer bar that's in a superb area of Budapest where theres lots of place's to visit and is very easy to locate from Szent Gellért Tér-Műegyetem M metro stop its a short walk.(This is my 1st review of KEG Sörművház). Extremely slow. Highly prices according to products. Prémium beers but the catering takes the experience even on a weekday night

I'm glad we stumbled upon this place, the service was great and they had something like 32 beers on tap. The food was fantastic, best we had in Budapest.

Gellért Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
