A great budget eatery

Ligeti Langos is a counter service budget eatery close to Szechenyi Baths and Pool. You ordered food at the counter, and then, you can bring the food to the free table nearby and enjoy with your own drinks. The food at Ligeti Langos is like pizza but on fried flour bun (e.g., in China). It is fun to eat. The menu of Ligeti Langos clearly explains that the service charge and tax (10%) is included in the menu price. We appreciate the transparency greatly.

A pleasure to have discovered the lángos 🫓

Just a nice discovery this place and the delicacies prepared there, or lángos, one of the most typical Hungarian specialties 🇭🇺. It is, specifically, a sort of large pancake 🫓 obtained from the dough of flour, yeast, water 💧 and salt 🧂, which can then be stuffed with various ingredients. Arrived on site at 12.30 🕧 to eat something, we took a look 👀 at the price list 📋 hung next to the counter and immediately ordered two lángos (Hungarian and Gyros) and as many glasses of water 💧 sparkling (apparently they did not have bottles). The collection takes place, receipt in hand, at the counter next door. Really delicious 😋 our lángos, both the Hungarian with salami, ham, bacon, onion 🧅, flaked cheese and sour cream, as well as the Gyros with meat, tomato 🍅, onion 🧅 and sour cream. The shape and texture actually resemble those of our "festival" pancakes, if you can say so, but with a lighter and more crumbly dough. Unfortunately, since we were not provided with cutlery 🍴 nor a saucer, we were forced to bend the lángos on themselves to eat them more easily, but getting dirty anyway (also because the sour cream tended to soak and then pierce the center of the pancake 🫓). Prices in the norm by virtue of the total 7080 florins of the account (about 18 euros 💶). Perfect service but we made it enough. Delicious!!! We were thrilled to stumble upon this place after a visit to the thermal baths, knowing that lángos are one of the “iconic” things to eat in Hungary. And it did not disappoint!! Super friendly staff freshly preparing the langos while you wait - warm fluffy dough with delicious toppings, and super filling too! We tried the “local’s favourite” with just cheese and sour cream, which was delicious. But the standout was the “hungarian” style with a tasty stewed mixture of sausage, onion, bacon. So good!!

Cold flame good at an expensive price, lying staff😞

It used to be one of our favorite places in Liget, but today I don't recommend it to anyone! In the past, the flame was baked fresh, unfortunately it has been cooked in advance for some time, so today we still got it cold. Prices are not posted (I took a photo!), the lady at the counter directs people to the back of the building if they inquire about prices, because there is only a price sign there. Today, we asked for a cheese and sour cream flame (HUF 2,090) and asked if we could have red onions on it. The answer was yes, and to our astonishment we had to pay HUF 2,590. In other words, for the price of the "Falusi" flamed (cheese-sour cream-bacon, red onion) we also got the "cheese-sour cream" red onion one. When I asked why onions cost HUF 500, the answer was that it was written that the extra toppings cost that much. However, the lady at the counter could not show where it was written, she looked at the price tag at the back of the building, and then assured her that she would inform her boss that this notice was missing. They didn't apologize for the cold flaming, nor for misleading me about the toppings. A 10% service fee is also charged for all this service, i.e. that a cold flame is sold to us at a window for HUF 500 more expensive than the advertised price. In addition to the service fee, the jatt is also waiting in a box with the inscription "Tipping is sexy"... It's sad that this place has been relegated to here. Although the environment is wonderful, we used to eat a lot of delicious fresh flaming here. It's a shame that it's already past time😞

Langos in the park

Came here for our first langos ever. Although we’re therefore not sure what ours were meant to taste like we thought they were delicious. We both had the locals favourite with sour cream and cheese, and they were light, slightly crunchy and generously topped. Recommended.

Well iam not a big fan of fried food but that was a trandiotional chooice in budapest that i had to do.. so i think it was the best place for me. In a great area with such an autumn mood took my (great) soup and my trandiotional langos, the staff was nice and great chooice for street food.

Stopped here for a quick snack and after having seen people eating langos around the Christmas markets I was really excited! Service wasn’t the quickest but that could be because they fried them freshly so it was lovely and warm when I received it. It tasted incredible and was less greasy than I thought it would be. Unbelievably filling though! They also supplied a vegan hot dog which was great for my girlfriend. If you’re at the zoo worth a visit for a snack.

Simple but Tasty Langos Experience

We needed to satisfy our hunger on Sunday evening. We bought a langos with cheese, and it was excellent. Ligeti Langos is more of a food stall than a restaurant. We sat outside at a table with benches. The tables were quite sticky from food. But mission accomplished - we satisfied our hunger and could continue with our sightseeing tour.

Came to Budapest on a solo trip and wanted to try something authentic in the area. The staff was very kind and service was very quick as it is a self seated out door area. Despite some of the old questionable reviews I am pleased with my visit.

Quick and Delicious!

Oh. Wow. This was absolutely delicious! We stopped here for a “light lunch”, but my langos totally filled me up. Quick to cook and tasted Devine. My daughter’s had a hotdog with cheese each which also disappeared in seconds! It was stating to get chilly, so we are in one of the igloos. Very snug. Highly recommend!

We went to the Thermal bath behind the shop and after that, we bump into this lovely kiosk and we tried the best Langos in Budapest. After that, I came to TA to write the review and I found people complaining about the service... They are local they don't speak English (and that is the sign that the place is not touristic)... So go and enjoy the best langos in the city. 5 times better and cheaper than the places in the city.

We went here to order some drinks and Langos. Unfortunately, the large plastic beer glass was out of stock. So the lady at the store window didn’t know what to do. We offered to get one large and one small. She seemed puzzled by our request but she agreed . We also ordered two palinka. Unfortunately it was out of stock. So we on our suggested Unicum. The lady agreed. I asked what my number would be for the Langos and I was met with attitude. Btw, the Langos was good . So overall a great place for beer and Langos but not for service . My sorry .

Not the biggest fan of Langos, quite greasy and worth the calories. Too many raw onions on mine too. If in Budapest, worth trying them but they're not for me
