To taste the real hungarian jewish cuisine this is the restaurant: very high quality! There are also hungarian dishes but we wanted to try the jewish hungarian, therefore we took the soup with meat and beans, very good, the roastbeef with sauce, incredibly tender and a Cholent. Cholent are these typical dishes with a base of beans and barley and... More

Good choice of Jewish & Hungarian dishes, in a traditional environment. The staff were very helpful and the service good. Sharing starter was delicious, as were the beef brisket and grilled pork with grilled vegetables. Prices were fair and we enjoyed our visit.

I was a little concerned as there were a number of negative reviews for this restaurant. None of them were our experience. The restaurant decor was nice and the food was real good and cheap. Probably our best meal in Budapest. The solent (chulent) was outstanding. Close to what my mom used to make. The potato pancakes were to die... More

We discovered this restaurant in Sept 2016, when we started our adventure of Budapest, The crispy duck with dumplings and red cabbage was enjoyable, as was the goulash was authentic Hungarian.I had cheese filled crepes for desert, yummy ! Make a reservation , as they do fill up.

Two of us stopped in here on a Monday at 12 PM for lunch, we entered and the place had one person eating. We were initially not even greeted just stared at by 3 people, so i did they usual and asked if they were serving lunch. To which one guy replied "do you have a reservation" keep in mind... More

We had a hard time finding this restaurant, as it was tucked away on the ground floor of a building under wraps. The upper part of the building was being renovated, and the restaurant was barely visible. Also, it is on a very quiet, non commercial street. It is one of just two commercial establishments on this long , dark... More

We visited this restaurant upon recommendation it was very traditional. The Goulash soup was excellent, however the atmosphere was lacking due to us being one of only two occupied tables. The nearby neighbourhood is also very quiet however if you're looking for Hungarian meat dishes, this is a quaint spot.

This place will not serve a culinary meal rather an excellent execution of a Hungarian mama's kitchen. Growing up with an Hungarian Grandma this food reminded me her cooking and was delivered perfectly. Don't go here expecting luxurious dishes or great selection of wines (although there are about 10 different choices) but to enjoy a proper Hungarian homey meal.

Our favourite place to eat when in Budapest, this restaurant hidden away is a real gem. The food is always good, particularly the goulash or duck and the setting is attractive with its walnut furniture/decor. Friendly and helpful too.

It's hard to find a spot in Budapest that feels like an old-school Hungarian joint, but this does. No cool owners doing food trucks here, just goulash and other tasty traditional fare.
