I finally could visit this restaurant in its new address in Buda. Getting a reservation for evenings, specially week-ends is quite hard., so we got there for lunch. The location of the restaurant is very convenient, the interior is light, friendly with high ceiling , visible kitchen and open bar. The service is very good. The concept very attractive; Hungarian dishes "remasterized" in its looks but with the beautiful presentations and exceptional taste. The restaurant offers short menus with two or three dishes that are more than sufficient for a normal apetite. The price of the menus is fair, but is increased according to the selection of the plates. The two of us had a total of 5 plates, drank water and paid 55 euros.

I had a weekday lunch. The space is gorgeously designed (the bathroom in particular is an Instagram dream). Staff is very attentive, and the sidewalk seating under the linden trees pleasant, despite the occasional speed racer and blaring sirens. Generous portions. The traditional dishes were faithfully done, as attested by my Hungarian friend. The two less traditional appetizers I tried included unusual flavors which, for me, did not balance well with the rest of the dish. The check came to over $60 (no coffee/dessert/alcohol) and included a quite hefty “service charge,” allegedly a tip for the servers. While most of the dishes were good, overall I did not find the cuisine memorable enough to warrant the price tag.

The place itself has everything a fancy bistro needs to offer. The waiters are so excellent helpful and kind. We have chosen the 4 course menu with duck foie gras, beans soup of Jókai style. I had the catfish with kale and mashed potatoes, my husband took deer roast gamy sauce and serviette dumplings. We both had a Somlói dessert. The duck foie gras came with some wine called Tokaji Aszú 6 puttonyos. This is absolutely the perfect combination with butter loaf and quince. This is everything what a fantastic Hungarian starter should be. Also the beans soup is just like the perfect recipe was once designed, all the tastes are balanced. If you would like what Hungarian Cuisine tastes like you must eat here. Both the main courses were fantastic, but I need to highlight the grilled kale, which is the best tasting kale I have ever eaten. The mashed potatoes are just as one would dream of the perfectly creamy meal. Here Somlói tastes wonderful. If you are trying it for the first time than it should be here, if this is your favourite dessert this is also a must. We just decided that we will be regulars here. Congratulations to the wonderful team of Szulló Szabina and Széll Tamás. What they have created here is fantastic, including their crew.

The Atmosphere at Stand 25 Bistro is really nice, the place is nicely decorated and set-up. Service is very good. The food is very good. The oven baked salad, venison stroganoff and fish were very good dishes at very reasonable prices. Also there there is a good wine selection. Nice Michelin restaurant.. Great choice for dinner in Budapest.

The restaurant moved to take away or delivery due to COVID lockdown. I was super pleased with the presentation of the dishes delivered. The dishes came labeled and in paper holders, all beautifully presented as if in a restaurant. And all warm, just at the right temperature. I have never experienced such a delivery quality in Budapest. We ordered the duck, the chicken, the salmon and the pork. All were tasty with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Apart from the salmon, the other dishes were Hungarian classics, some as if by a grandmother but presented by a proper chef. I was grateful the chef didn’t want to reinvent the wheel, thank you! The eggplant starter with cheese was supreme. I also tried the somloi, classic Hungarian dessert. Ok, it was not sweet, this is great but otherwise, closed eyes I wouldn’t have been able to tell that it was a somloi, the classic tastes were missing. Also, the delivery was an hour late despite the order being placed a day before. The restaurant did call me about the delay though...hence the 4 star only Overall a superb experience and I highly recommend the restaurant.

Hard to praise this place too much. This is excellent Hungarian food served in a more modern, sophisticated way than one can find in almost any restaurants in Hungary. The physical space is comfortable & service excellent. Restaurant was easily able to accommodate one in our party with multiple food allergies without complaint or sacrificing quality. Really good.

Recommended by friends and having heard of a Michelin star we went there for a Friday lunch full of expectations – and were not disappointed. The bistro has a simple yet elegant decor and reasonable space between the tables. The starter, Duck foie gras, fruit chutney, toasted loaf was nothing special. It was good, but we had had it much better. But then came the main dish: Sterlet fillet, spinach, fresh horseradish -and it was simply awesome. The fish was really good, perfectly cooked, and the spinach was a dream. We could not quite figure out how it was made (I wish we could), but it was ever so light and tasty with the touch of horseradish adding an extremely subtle sharpness. The accompanying Eichinger - Grüner Veltliner was perfection. The dessert was the Cottage cheese dumplings, sour cherry, sour cream foam – ever so light and delicious. Service was impeccable. The bill was high even in today’s Budapest standard, but not unacceptable for the extremely high quality of food, drinks and service. For a memorable fine dining experience don’t miss it!

Lamb tasted like wax and fat, steak tartare basically had no flavour (big chunks of medium-quality meat) and the roast a la Brasov was way too salty but still without any characteristics. Gluten free bread was vet since they probably just took it our from the freezer and didn't even make an effort to toast it properly. Waiters are dull and not friendly, you have to wave them over like 5 times if you want something, and the way they handle complaint is disappointingly unprofessional (they basically reach nothing). This place is a solid PASS.

Was here with 2 guys, one Hungarian, one German - we do business together. Reservation was simple, professional. Food was simple and excellent. I was so happy that the traditional Hungarian dishes were not too much altered or 'rethought'. Jókai bableves was just like at home. Loved the spare rib on top. Vadas and also the catfish were very good too. Two of us had the túrógombóc, where I found the sour creme foam a bit too sour, however it is sure my personal issue, as I have ghe same opinion about my mother's túrógombóc as well. Service very kind, professional and polite. Try to keep it like this!

I am just in awe of this place. The service, the ambience and everything is superb, but the food is just outrageously good, but not at crazy prices. Every dish I ate was just glorious, amazing takes on classic dishes like goulash, layered potatoes, rice pudding or chicken stew. It sounds simple, but when you take a bit it is out of this world.

It was my third time here. During summer we booked an early lunch slot and both service and the dishes were great. Now we booked late lunch, the place was packed and service was mediocre, conveyor belt feeling. Dishes were good, I really appreciate the wine recommendations and selection. However, the personnel was not very attentive, obviously not helped by them wearing mask but eye contact between customer and servicepersons was totally missing.

It has been a very unpleasant experience. Although it is featured to be one of the best Michelin star restaurants in Budapest, our experience has been really disappointing. Very average food, especially the chicken stew and the beef stroganoff. Nothing resembled a fine dining experience. The worst part was that we sat at a table next to the kitchen and at 10 the chefs starting cleaning up and washing pots and running water on the floor cleaning with brooms while we were having our main course. Dessert was also beyond average, taste and presentation wise. Definitely not value for money, and although prices were expected given the fact that it is a Michelin restaurant, the quality and presentation of the food was not expected at all!!!!!

We went to Stand 25 because it was Michelin recommended and we were expecting a unique dining experience where we enjoyed excellent Hungarian food with exceptional service. The food was good, but not exceptional. In fact, we had a better Hungarian meal, for half the price, the previous night in the Buda district. The problem was the service. The menu was brought to us but not explained. Bread was brought to us but not explained, which was signficant for us as one of our party doesn't eat pork and we discovered that one of the toppings was made from pork. Service was extremely innatentive. We went without drinks and without plate clearings for extended periods of time. Our waiter spent much more time chatting on the other side of the restaurant rather than looking after his customers. This was not an exceptional dining experience, in fact it was just lackluster. We had all eaten at great restaurants and Stand 25 is not comparable. When the bill was brought the lady, whoever she was, asked how it was and we said the food was good but the service was not up to par. She said she would look into it. Rather than do an adjustment she sent our waiter over to ask what was wrong. I had never seen this done before and at first we thought it was a walk of shame for the waiter. In the end we realized that he was just checking up on us and did not agree with our assessment. There was no adjustment and they made us feel like we were too picky, which made us very angry. A business who does not listen to their customers and doesn't care what we say will only lose customers over time. They are busy now but I doubt they can sustain busines with this service. In the end the food was good, but not exceptional, service was terrible and the price was twice what we should have paid for this level of service. I would not go back there and hope that Michelin will reconsider their recommendation.

Little brother to the Michelin starred Stand Restaurant. Much more traditional Hungarian food; modernised but not too much!! Delicious dishes and a great, more up-market introduction to Hungarian dishes of quality than you would find in a traditional bistro. Nice buzzy atmosphere; fabulous service and great wines..

I surprised my fiancé with a dinner here. I ordered asparagus soup which was magnificent. My fiancé asked for a started with courgette. For the main course, I ate pasta with deer I think it was a seasonal menu. He ordered steak and for dessert a Cottage cheese dumplings, sour cherry, sour cream foam. Everything was delicious! The service was very polite and nice! The food arrived very fast, we didn't have to wait for a long time to get it!
