Called in around 8pm and had no problem getting a table outside. Nice bottle of rose to go with the pizzas ( x 4) waiters spoke excellent english and were very friendly all evening and attentive. Would definitely call in again. Bill for a family of 4 with wine / soft drinks was £76 so good value for money.

The place is really nice and cosy, the staff is extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delightful, we did enjoy it at its fullest, from the starters to the desserts ! It was a real pleasure to have dinner there. Plus, as I’m French, I was extremely surprised by the « low » prices as the food seams to be really high quality !

Looking for somewhere to eat we came across Sophie and after a quick look at the menu we asked for a table for 4 of us. The service from Peter and Norbert was excellent and food was delicious. We had such a fabulous night that we booked a table for our last night and everything was just as good. First night we had spaghetti carbonara, very tasty, the next visit we had pizza, salmon and rosemary potatoes, really nice. If you visit Budapest please make sure to eat here it’s amazing, very well priced and ask Norbert for some Palinka. Thanks to all the staff for an unforgettable time in Budapest, hope to see you again.

Excellent, quality food with friendly service. Went twice during our Budapest stay, an evening pasta and duck salad meal with reasonbly priced local wine and lunch time pizza meal with ice cold draught beer. Both great.

If you think you’re going for a nice Italian with friendly staff, think again!!! Food left a bad after taste in your mouth. The staff were very rude and kept giving us stinking looks, whilst snatching our plates away because we didn’t eat it!! Avoid you will be disappointed !!!!!!!

We arrived around 9am, I don't know if it was close to closing time, but the service was poor.
Employees went out to smoke, and we had to get up to ask for the bill.
The salmon we ordered was raw and tasteless and the smell in the restaurant of fried food was very strong, clearly they didn't have any extraction system working.
Not to repeat!

We were staying in the Cortile Hotel, just along the road and ate at Sophie's three times. Each time was excellent. The weather was lovely and we were able to sit outside.
We tried the traditional Hungarian menu, pasta and pizza and all were superb.
The restaurant was busy each night and despite there being only 2 waiters, the service was excellent.
The G&T was the best I have tasted.
On our second visit, we arrived quite late, just as the kitchen was closing. We were really hungry and so the manager allowed us to quickly order a couple of pizzas - he was very kind.

Some good, some bad makes for an average meal.
Beef stew was good enough , but quite bland. Maybe need to serve w a side of pepper jam to add in. Spaghetti Bolognese was well cooked with a lot of veal meat but again, quite mild in flavor. One server was brusk and unfriendly, especially when I tried to pronounce order in Hungarian instead of English ( I get it, but also seems rude to assume everyone speaks English). Another server couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.
Overall, I expected more based on reviews.

We had dinner at Sophie last week. The location is brilliant (near the Opera house), the atmosphere warm and the service welcoming and friendly. Above all, the food was very tasty; fresh and with proper ingredients, a must for Italian cuisine. In a city filled with restaurants on almost every street, it's hard to stand out. But Sophie did for us!

Arrived late in Budapest at 9:15pm and the staff here still welcomed us in to eat despite the place closing at 10pm. I ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms and steak strips and it was delicious. Portion size was great and the price was reasonable too. No complaints at all. Staff were great and service was quick, we were out by 10pm easily.

Very good italian restaurant. We took saltimbocci with rosemary potatoes and veal with cream spinach and parmesan, it was delicious. Red italian wine at the glass,(ask to chill 16 deg previously, because.like every other restaurant choosen, red.wine may be served too hot , at ambiant heated room temp), dessert with panacotta coco mango,.not sweet, delicious, and tiramisu,.light coffe taste but well balanced and aerial.mascarpone cream, completely excellent. Very.nice.service,.piano music played. I recommend it.

We came to Budapest for a long weekend, and the food and drink at Sophie's was not only the best we had in Budapest, but also one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was brilliant, giving your meal air to breath whilst also being attentive to your needs. The food is stunning, you can tell the effort that is made on whole ingredients, all of the dishes we had were delicious. Would highly recommend a visit - we will be back!

We were here for a lunch. We ordered pasta and pizza. It's been a long time since we've eaten something so tasteless. Eaten a lot of Italian before. In addition, they spent over 45 minutes on the food, which is strange because there were almost no guests there. No special service either. Don't understand why this restaurant has good reviews. Will not return.

Beautiful restaurant. Great choice on menu
We ate upstairs, which was lovely & also has a private room for larger groups
We both had the grilled sea bass which was absolutely delicious, lovely flavours.
Waiter was very attentive & courteous

I went there to meet with one of my friend. It was a perfect place for this occasion. The place has a beautiful enterior and live music was provided also. The waiter was very kind and attentive. They offer a wide variety of dishes, even offering alternative pastas for people with gluten intolerance. However, not only the service was great, but also the quality of the food. Everything we ate was delicious. I really recommend it! I will definitely visit again!
