Dinner for two evening on a very hot Monday evening. No card payment no air conditioning. Food is 4/5. Expected more a lot more from the place.

Hungarian delicacies with a modern touch. Authentic yet contemporary atmosphere. Fifteen minutes by train from Batthyány tér, but it's worth it. As a local, Kiscsillag is one of my favorite restaurants.
Service was so friendly. We took pizza and something potato smoked sausage kasserole and everything was so good. Waitress translate hungarian language and we had nice time. Modern and light atmosphere. Just perfect to us Thank U
Had read reviews on google and thought that we would give it a go as only 5 minutes from our holiday home. The waiter was very friendly and asked us to pick a table anywhere. We were given the basic menu which had an English...translation but we both felt that this was basic. I then asked for the special menu to be translated and we both chose from this menu. Our starter, which we shared, was very nice, Hungarian platter. The mains were okay but not exciting. I had duck legs in mash potatoes with some cooked pear on the side. Basic. Sally had stuffed chicken wrapped in Parma ham and mashed potato! Definitely needed a sauce of some kind. Nice coffee but not hot! With a bottle of nice wine, shared starter and 2 main meals cost was around £50 which we thought was a lot for what you got. Can’t fault the waiter.More
Traditional Hungarian flavors along with lighter, Western-stomach friendly dishes. Nice decor, good service and the drinks selection is quite alright too! Turogomboc is to die for..
We expected much more. What we've got was microwaved food and poor service - which you have to award with obligatory 10% tip. Nonsense. Moreover, they do not accept credit cards - they insist on cash. Never again.
Acting on a sudden impulse and based on the favourable rating of Tripadvisor, we visited Kiscsillag. I believe it was a one and only occasion with a very frustrating customer experience, this place is not even worth another chance. It is rather pity, the place...has a good location, fresh design, modern bistrot type feeling. Parking although is challenging. Where they do fail: The service is really awkward, slow, the unskillful waiters and waitresses are running around loudly swearing. The Italian soda was tasteless, We have been waiting for our main course approx 45 minutes, while the place was half empty. The food was dull, probably reheated in microwave, the fried fish filet served was a combo of thick deep fried bread crumb cover with fish skin inside and no fish flesh at all. The pork leg was crispy outside, the small meat inside was tough. Our claim was not handled, rather it was stated that everybody is always happy about their food. We did not receive any kind of apology at all. We paid, even the built in 10% service fee and left with toxicated mood. Never again...More
Heti rendszeresseggel jarunk ide a kollégákkal és mindig nagyon jókat eszünk, jo a menü választék kedvesek és segítőkészek a pincérek! Barátságos hely a legjobb Csillaghegyen! We usually eat here with my colleagues. Always friendly and great quality what we get! Amaizing daily menu options. Best...in the region!More
This restaurant is in a residential suburb of Budapest, a place called Csillaghegy which is a 30 minute train trip from the Margaret bridge station of the suburban H5 railway line. The restaurant is well worth the trip given the relaxing atmosphere, and excellent service,...any communication problems are easily overcome by the staffs friendly willingness to help. The menu provides a small range of well prepared and tasty dishes along with a selection of excellent Hungarian wines. For a change from the hectic pace of central Budapest I would recommend making an afternoon and evening by first visiting the Csillaghegy Open-Air Bath (the oldest bath in the capital) in the afternoon and then attending the restaurant for the evening. The baths are a five minute walk from the station on the left and the restaurant is a two minute walk to the right of the station.More
A good restaurant in Csillaghegy, more a residential suburb of Budapest, friendly place, good wines, small range of food, but well made, worth trying this out either for couples or group of friends
Perfect place, cosy and fancy design, delicious dishes. The 'harcsapaprikás' is worth to try. They serve good wines. The service is friendly and professional.
