The locals seemed to all come in for the buffet on a Monday. There weren't many tourists but it was assumed we would eat from the menu, and we did. The food was delicious and the service super. Not too touristy. Lovely spot for a meal.

If you are looking for good, authentic Hungarian food, this is the place to go. The menu is extensive and the staff very helpful and pleasant. The goulash did not disappoint, especially when I added the hot pepper sauce.. I also had chicken paprikash and spätzle, which was delicious in a light cream gravy.. A glass of house red wine... It's a nice cosy restaurant which was suggested to us by locals. It is located out of the centre and from the outside one cannot know what awaits one on the inside. Friendly atmosphere and polite staff, very tasty food and a large variety of local wine, in an excellently rustic decorated place. Also there is a lovely live piano... More

I went for an early dinner in August. The service was nice and friendly, however the waiter did not recommend any dish. The quality of the food was acceptable, maybe good, but highly overpriced compared the same style restaurants around the area. So if you want to get good Hungarian food I won't suggest this place.

We went to this local restaurant near our friends' apartment for a celebratory evening. Good in all respects: atmosphere, service, wine, and food. We enjoyed the music and talking with the convivial staff. My wife was especially impressed by her lamb entre.

We wanted to eat local Hungarian food and our Hotel recommended this restaurant. We ended up eating at the Firkasz two nights in a row because the food and the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant itself looks very rustic but it only adds to the charme. When my boyfriend and I came to eat there for the second time... More

At around 9:30 p.m. on a weeknight we snagged the only table left in the place, which happened to be near the piano. Good selection of Hungarian wines (choose a white). The talented pianist, named Ottó Ökrös, alternated between playing “La Vie en Rose” and other famous songs alongside Hungarian melodies and Jazz tunes with elaborate and intricate arpeggios…we were...
