This place follows the best traditions of home-style cooking. You won't find any haute cuisine dishes rather the old traditional ones as your grandma would have prepared them. The menu is a good selection of dishes in the Carpathian basin: apart from Hungarian, one may find Slovak, Transylvanian, Jewish and other specialties. Portions are huge and generally of good quality... More

We had read recommendations from Tripadvisor and that's why we wanted to visit here also. The restaurant was full and because we didn't have reservation we had to wait table. It was okay but any waitress didn't say anything (even hello) to us. After little waiting we got the table and we ordered starters and main courses. Starter soups were... More

A couple weeks ago, my husband and I met a Hungarian friend who took us for authentic Hungarian food. While I didn't particularly like everything, I believe that was due to personal taste, and that the food was excellent. We started with matzoh ball soup, which was very different from what I'm used to--and I didn't care for it. We... More

This place was recommended by our hostel and the food was awesome! The meals were very reasonably priced and there were so many options available. The waitress squeezed us in with no hassles at a table outside so that we could watch the street and checked up on us frequently. I really enjoyed eating here and sampling some of Hungary's... More

After reading the reviews, I was really looked forward to going to this place, however we were denied service when we're there. We'd tried many times to get the attention of the waitress but she refused to talk to us and walked away. I felt it was more than language barrier because she was serving people who spoke English just... More

we spent 3 nights in budapest and our host recommended this restaurant. it is not far away from the touristic attraction but it is mainly attended by locals. we tried the pork served on a bed of potatos, very tasty and the portion for 2 could have easily fed 4 people. excellent value for money: with 2 beers and grilled... I wanted to check out this neighborhood spot since it was highly recommended though came with the warning that it was chronically busy. I found this to be true, even at a later dinner hour. The verging on gruff woman working the small bar area of Pozsonyi Kisvendéglő didn't speak much English, but a friendly patron who did gave me... More

Had this place suggested by a local and it did not disappoint. I had the roast duck, absolutely delicious. The portions are big so stick with one course

We travel often in Budapest, almost twice a year. We always come here to eat either lunch or dinner. The food is traditional Hungarian and very tasty. The prices are not high and the atmosphere is great. Plus you almost always get a big plate in front of you. We usually have the daily menu, but also like the pasta... More
