Waaaay off the beaten path, and you’re unlikely to ever learn of it unless a local introduces you. But if you want great Hungarian food and you are feeling adventuresome, take the 58 tram up towards the Farkasreti and look for it nestled into the...trees on the left. Try the fish soup - it is the first meal we seek out every time we visit Budapest.More

I was sent there by the host from the hotel. We were very prepared for a specific goulash. The stew: goulash soup and food were pork, not beef. Not even the pork chop was what we thought. The vegetable topping was rancid. It was a...meal of ~ 120 EUR for 4 people, but we left the plates almost full on the table.More

It was a very warm evening and we sat outside under the trees. It is laid out attractively and there was music in the form of an accordion player. He took many breaks so it wasn’t overdone. The food was very good but large portions....The pan fried duck was half a large duck. Had to take some home in a doggy bag. Apparently this place is known for its fish of which there are many dishes to choose from. We would all revisit.More

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants in Budapest, and we returned (a party of 8) with great expectations. The garden is still very pleasant, we got a good table under a huge sunshade. Service was slow and without a hint of a...smile, and right at the beginning of the lunch we were totally put off by people smoking right at the table next to us. The fish soup is still good, but the other soups (chicken broth) were too salty. The grilled catfish was not bad, but not as good as it used to be, the salad on the side had no proper dressing. The great let down, however, were the pancake strips and the gnocchi with stale poppy seeds. And the prices are rather steep. For quite some time we shall not return.More

Service is polite but a bit slow. All dishes we tried were delicious, and there is really a large choice of dishes made of several fishes – prepared in several forms: soup, baked, roasted, breaded, etc. Tasty lunch at affordable price level – in slightly...old school environment.More

Visited with a large group and some locals. The restaurant was a little out of the way however a total hidden gem. Very quaint and very local. Lovely surroundings and a truly Hungarian feel. Food was fantastic, beer was great and we even tried the...local palinka. I really loved this place.More

I am a regular guest, but today was disappointed: the waiters brought a dirty sticky ladle for the fish soup. I returned it and didn’t receive any apologies.

Nice garden very nice food ! I recomend the hungarian fish soup and the tartar. Beside this all types of fish amd the gundel palacsinta which is a pancake with nutcream inside. Waighters are friendly and fast... There is also a playground for kida outside...which is excellent for the summertime. On the weekend better to reserve e if you are a large group oror than 6 person.More

Three of us went to check this restaurant. It was summertime so our table was in the garden. The garden with a little play ground was perfect place for a lunch. Booking in advance – mainly at weekends – is highly recommended. The menu card...is long with many choice opportunity. We ate grilled dishes. They were perfect, and big enough. We liked them very much. The only problem was the service. The waiter was a young guy without any smile, almost any communication. The restaurant was at this time almost empty but we had to wait with the drink ordering 10 minutes. When we finished the meal, he cleaned the table, and left. We did not want to order a caffee and waiting another 30 minutes, so we tried the find an eye contact and asked the bill. It took only 10 minutes seating an waiting around an empty table. All in all this restaurant could be one of the best place in Buda if the service will be friendlier.More

Because my mother in law eats willingly fish, we were looking for a really-fish restaurant. At the end the Ezüst Ponty (Silver Carp ) was a good choice! All we have eaten fish-dishes, fish suppe, salmon, catfish etc. All dishes were fine. Service is friendly,...A quiet accordion live music was very cozy.More

Staff needs to be more pleasant and attentive, perhaps fake it at least. The food is great though... nice traditional setting.
