Terrible service. The waiter made us pay for the drinks in advance, before they even came out, and there was no option to pay separately. He as well charged us for the service. I mean what a poorly and unprofessional, terrible aspect of hospitality.
This is one of several Pointer pubs in BP. It's right by one of the main bridges so is slap bang in the middle of tourist land. A pint of Dreher (local lager) cost £5.40, and G&T was £8.20 including the mandatory 14% tip. Twice...as much as most places!More
This is a tradional Irish bar with plenty of space/seating. Service was quick and there were loads of food/drink choices. Between 4 and 6 they do happy hour where it was 990 fl for a litre of local beer which was excellent. We didn't eat...here but the food also looked really good.More
We came to this pub during the happy hours in which offer beers at really good prices, the waiter got us the wrong size of beers but I did not mind at that point, I was noticing that he was pressuring us to get more...drinks and I did realize that we had the service charge added to our bill and plus he was demanding the tip which I did not gave it to him.More
This was a great find staying in the city centre. Great Beer 🍻 Great food. Watched Everton Vs Chelsea live while having aa beer and a lovely pizza 🍕 Happy hours 2-4 great price beers. Staff are brilliant will help you with anything and work...very hard for you. I would highly recommend this pub👍 if staying in the city centre Budapest.More
For a friends birthday on the 23rd Feb this year (2023) we went to the pub and got 4x1 litre pints of Hunters - rounding up each 1 litre pint of hunters is around £4. We got 2 beers each which is a total of...6 beers. We attempted to split the bill but after some back and forth we just decided to pay it in one. 6 beers at £4 (ROUNDING UP A LOT HERE) should only be around £24 but they charged me £40 - after trying to get in touch they refused to pay me anything back or refund me for the overcharge as i don't have a receipt its the 27th today and I've flown back to London. I know it was a long shot but i have never been so grosely overcharged like this before by anyone, especially a pub - feels like a joke.More
Bad service. The Blond waitress with the glasses was always so Rude, like she doesn't want us there. She literally threw the beers and fries on our table. Instead with the other tables she was nice...no sense. Why?..We're Italians?? 2 beers and a portion of...chips and then you get treated badly... Never Again here!More
This a quite a touristy pub/bar. We shared a pizza for lunch which was really nice and good size for two to share. They have happy hour beer prices at a certain period during the afternoon (it was a week day we went, and can’t...remember exact times).More
Great food and location, staff very friendly. A wide variety of food on the menu we each had a diffenent dish and it was all delicious and there was 4 of us. Local beer was very good as were their cocktails. If your into sport,...there are lots of TV so you have a view from any seat.More
Not too bad of a representation of a british pub I suppose.... the beer was good, we luckily arrived as happy hour started at 2pm, so we got the local bear at about half price!. The place is table service and our waiter was a...nice guy and realy knowledgeable about what he was selling. We didn't eat, but plenty of food was coming out of the kitchen with none of it going back!.. it did seem a little pricy though. Not a bad little chain of pubs!More
Myself and two colleagues were excited to eat fish and chips at a real British pub. The waitstaff only served us drinks and then made us wait. They never acknowledged that we wanted to order food ever though we waved at them several times. Finally...we plopped enough money on the table to cover the drinks and left. Don’t bother with this establishment.More
As classic Brits who had just touched down we wanted a beer, and went to Pointers due to the rain pushing us inside. Lovely little place, nice beers, friendly service and sport on the TV. Shared a pizza which was decent. Would definitely go back.
This is my first time writing a bad review of any bar/restaurant but I had to after my visit to The Pointer in Budapest. The waiter spilled a full pint of beer on top of me which was an accident and I completely understand that...accidents happen. However, the manager of the restaurant still made us pay for one of the 2 pints. I was not able to stay in the restaurant because my new outfit was completely soaked through with beer and I had to leave and shower. He was reluctant to even offer this and both couples sitting beside us agreed that he was completely wrong. Just to reiterate, I have no problem with the waiter, accidents happen and he was very apologetic. However, the manager handled this completely wrong and I was shocked with his handling of the situation.More
We got told straight away that the place had 1 hour wait then asked if it was food or drink we said both then a table was available. Staff memeber lady with black curly hair was rude and didn’t seem happy to serve us. None...of staff that served us were happy all rude. Drinks were cheap during happy hour and food was okMore
