Seafood starter with three different dishes was bad. Tough octopus and scampi with loads of cocktail sauce on a leaf of salad. Full of water. We ordered fritto misto – squid and girice were okay, scampi also, but there were a few dough balls inbetween....Everything is really overpriced. We won’t be eating here again.More

We walked by just before lunch when it was empty. Fortunately, we asked to reserve a table. That was kind of an accidental great idea. When we returned some 30 minutes later almost the entire restaurant was taken over by a large group--except for the...table we reserved. We had grilled sardines, sheep cheese, tagliatelle pasta, black ink risotto and salad. Really nicely prepared and so relaxing to watch boats glide by.More

Shrimp Tagliatelle- strange, but the best Tagliatelle we’ve had, beating anything in Italy even. Probably to do with the quality of Shrimps from Piran Grilled calamari- rare to get this quality of calamari. Absolutely no complaints The bread on the side comes with a delicious...oil and vinegar. Don’t miss out on it.More

We were headed to the more well-known Pavel when we decided to stop at Gostilna Ivo instead. We are so glad we did. The host/owner was so kind and friendly. Our meals were outstanding as was the wine. Obviously not busy due to off season,...so service and attention were superb. We left feeling like we had made a new friend. We could not stop talking about fresh and delicious the food was.More

Racist staff insulted us after having paid our bill just for being Italian. Never happened in my life to pay to get verbally insulted for no reason! Be careful!

We had to ask 3 times for a water refil, they served every table with 2 plates so others had to wait a long time for their meal (that happened with the dessert too), the service is average (sometimes doesn't respond even if you ask...something)... Food was alright. We are hoping for a better experience next time.More

There were flies in my vinegar. Food was barely edible. It’s just bad. Altho it’s honesty not any worse then most other restaurants in the area.

First, I need to mention that before this visit, we had eaten in this restaurant many times and were always satisfied. But this time it was not their day at all. We booked the table in advance, so we had a meal with a beautiful...view. Our waiter was ignorant and barely even talked to us. We had the fish soup for an appetiser, and it tasted good. However, when we tried everything on the fish plate, we discovered that one fish was smelling and it felt bitter. When I wanted to mention it to the waiter, he ignored me continually. We left the fish on the plate, and when he came to clean the table, he did not ask anything and just took the plates. I hope they can make some improvements in future as thay have a good location.More

Really amazing stop, a bit expensive but we enjoyed the food a lot. Ordered a fish plate for 2 and it was beyond my expectations. Also good portioning, it was not too much. Maybe a little not enough but so delicious

We decided to try our the seafood in Piran. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. The waiter who took our order was kurt. The beer on draft was cold and refreshing. The only side that the stuffed squid comes with, is potatoes. The squid...was delicious. It took a while to get the waiters attention. So although the food was delicious, the portion side was average & the service was poor.More

It started perfectly, after a nice walk we came there for lunch at 1:30 pm. We sat down and soaked up the view and the atmosphere. We wanted to order beverages and had to wait really long to get it done. The waiter had to...manage lots of guests and was unable to cope. Time went by and we almost had no chance to order lunch. They did not even took care for our kids as I know it from many other restaurants. At 3:30 pm we received some mediocre dish but some orders were missing, they just forgot. Friends had spoiled clams. Finally the bill was higher than expected. Maybe this was just a bad coincidence, but we cannot recommend this location.More

Found the place by wondering around. Good friendly service and nice ambiance. I had two glasses of white wine, one local, one chardonnay. I preferred the chardonnay. My husband had a Union local beer. I had the blue mussels in wine sauce and he had...the frutti di mare pasta. Both delicious. Reasonable prices. Recommended!More

Location is perfect, at the water’s edge. Service was welcoming and friendly. Our disappointment in our overall experience, though, had to do with how our order was handled and quality of the meal. We wanted to order bursara shrimp (with tomato sauce, not the white...wine sauce) but the server insisted that the white wine sauce was better. We said we prefer the red sauce. After we placed our order, the server returned to say we should go for the Adriatic shrimp because it’s much better. I asked the price and he said, 'it's just a little more,’ so we went for the upgrade. When we received our meal, he delivered the Adriatic bursara shrimp with white sauce. When we reminded him that we preferred the red sauce, he took it back to have it adjusted. By the time my mom’s shrimp was adjusted with red sauce, I was nearly done with my meal of fried calamari and shrimp. When we got the bill, we found that the Adriatic shrimp was 30EU and the shrimp we originally wanted was 17EU. I expect a 3-5EU difference, but it was 13EU more! I didn't clarify the cost of the upgrade when our server suggested it, but 13EU is a considerable difference. It's not the cost that's bothersome to me, but the way it was presented as 'a little difference.' Food service was a bit slow (even though the large group before us had already been served) and with the back and forth with the placement and delivery of our order, it wasn’t exactly a relaxing experience. Food quality and taste of our meal was just ok. This experience is somewhat unfortunate because this was our only meal in beautiful Piran and IVO was specifically recommended to me.More

This is one of the best restaurants in Slovenian turistical jewel Piran. It is placed on the seaside promenade and it is well known between Slovenian and Italian gurmans. The seafood is always fresh and the owner Ivo is very kind host.
