We missed to go on New Year's Eve dinner but we went on the 1st day.
It has been a nice experience with a good dinner of local dishes, like "Mushrooms soup in bread", "Gulasch with polenta" "Veal ragu with buckwheat", which I really liked.
Very clean and comfortable place in a pleasant atmosphere. Typical traditional music was gently accompanying our dinner.
Certainly to go there again.

On entering we stood waiting to be seated for ten minutes or more and eventually had to ask for assistance to get a table! It wasn't full but was busy enough and our waiter had a lot of tables to take care of. Had to ask for water three times before it came. Locals who arrived after us were served before us. That said, the food we had, apart from a tasteless beef soup, was very good. Pork schnitzel Cordon Bleu and a regular pork schnitzel, mushroom soup served in bread and generous salads.

Food was alright and tasty. One of our group explicitly asked for the pork schnitzel and got Chicken. The waiter apologiezed for it and he received a salat for free. Something like that should not but can always happen. They handled it quite well.
All in all it was alright but i also found other places in Ljubjana that were better. Nevertheless it was alright.

The restaurant serves a variety of food along with Slovenian cuisine. The goulash is very good and the quality and portions are excellent. The wine was only 2€ a glass! This place is very busy so try to get there early for a table outside others plenty of tables inside but not the same atmosphere. Be patient as this place is busy so just relax. Great food and should not be missed

I hate to write bad reviews but being true to your experience is important. Looking in from the main street gave us really good first impression, walking through the main dining room we were seated in the outdoor area, first thing we noticed was how dirty all surroundings were, overhead retractable fabric roof was absolutely filthy. I had second thought of trying the food, I have to say the schnitzel I ordered was quite nice well cocked with overbaked potatoes and pepper sauce. I must say paying 4EUR for 50ml of sauce is a bit steep for a restraint of this caliber but if it goes toward cleaning the place I´ll be happy to contribute. Nothing more to add other than I will probbly not be back.

Dear customer. This rewiew is an absolutly shock for as as we clean the whole gostilna / tavern every day also the garden and even sourroundings belonging to the muncipity outside because of a night club close to us. The fabric of the retractable roof was new 2 years ago but we have 2 chestnut trees in the garden and therefore it is constantly open to avoid leafs and other dirt to fall on the tables. If there were no trees this would not be an issue, but this is nature. The fabric was washed begining of june when we reopened the garden. Till today nobody ever complianed about this matter as we keep the place realy tidy . Concerning the prices we think that there are very resonable or lower comparing similar places and are way from expensive. At the end we can just say that we are sorry you felt like this but the fabric can not be chaged every year in order to be perfect. Despite your bad rewiew we thatk you that you have visited us.

Ate here as we were interested in trying traditional Slovenian cuisine.
We were not disappointed - the portions are large and hearty.
We had the goulash (inside a full loaf of bread), mushroom soup (same), dumplings, the pork ribs and the veal. All were excellent
Our waiter convinced us to try a more expensive bottle of local red wine which was a real hit with all of us

Very traditional restaurant and incredibly friendly service. You can see that the locals go there, which makes it good! The waiters spoke English and they were so helpful, guiding us and telling us what to take from the menu. I would strongly recommend the mushroom soup! WOW! WOW! There's also a beautiful fireplace inside the restaurant that adds to the authenticity.

The food (pizza) is pretty good, but that's where it ends. On the website, the price for a pizza is 9.20 euros, I order it, and pay 11.70 euros when I pick it up. When I ask the lady why the price is lower online, she tells me that it probably went up in price... WHAT?? The employee apparently doesn't know about the price increases at their pizzeria, let alone any price updates on spl. pages. When I remark that as a customer, I didn't get what I expected, for the price I expected, she thanked me and turned around. I guess her attitude would have been different if I wanted to clarify before I even paid.
Attitude and quality of service/food and prices don't go together, so you won't see me at your place anymore. Even a couple of times a year when we have ordered 10 pizzas or more in the collective, we will prefer to turn to pizzerias that have at least a little feeling for people and want to serve their customers, because unlike you, they don't want to lose them.

Our neighbors recommended this place and I’m hooked, mostly because of the entree-size salads. We also tried traditional mushroom soup in a bread bowl. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, so I’ll definitely be back to enjoy the outdoor patio and courteous service. A real find on the edge of the car-free zone.

Bad experience. Rude & impolite staff.
I was there with a friend around 10pm, we had waited for awhile for a table. A staff walked pass in front of us without leading us to a table and neglected us. Then, I approached him to get a table.
I was happy when seeing a staff took the menu to us after 10 minutes since we sat down and I said ‘Finally’. Then, the staff was starring at me and asked ‘what finally?’ rudely. I replied ‘that you are coming’. He then turned around and put the menus back to the rack and walked away.
We were there late, so it was not that busy. Sadly, we had been neglected & treated impolitely.
As a customer, I am willing to pay for such pricy restaurant to have a nice dinner. However, it should come with both good food & service.
I was looking forward to try traditional Slovenian foods at this restaurant as it was my first time in Slovenia but the service really disappointed me so we left without eating anything.

A grouchy man took me to a table for two in a backroom. The interior had a ceiling with beams, parquet flooring and furniture made from wood, which made for a quite warm atmosphere. Then a middle aged waitress took care of me, who was always in a rush and hardly gave me any time to study the menu card. She was also not well informed, when I asked her a question. When I ordered a grilled Seabass she came back to tell, that they didn't have it.
Instead she told me to go for the John Dory, which as expected was frozen. It came on top of a risotto, which was far too salty. The Parmesan and the sparkling wine that were supposed to be in it, I could hardly taste. On the side I had a salad, which looked good. For it there were oil, vinegar, salt and pepper on the table. What was missing was a napkin, which I had to go and get from empty nearby table. The waitress, being mostly busy in an other room, didn't show up too often.
To drink I had a bottle of Radenska mineral water and some white house wine, a Beli Pinot. My dessert was an Apple Strudel with a vanilla ice cream topped by cinnamon. I finished it all with an espresso and a Viljamovka (Williams pear schnapps). The place, called 'Number Six' (Sestica), since in 1776 this was the building's street number, when an inn was first opened here, has a pleasant interior, but there seems to be not much ambition, when it comes to cooking and service.

Nice and well-kept place, with the exception of the very poor paper napkins. Good food and normal prices. Positive opinions nullified by the rude and arrogant behavior of the waiter. When we entered at 5.30pm we were told that it was not possible to book, but when we arrived for dinner at 7.00pm half of the tables had a booked sign. When we asked to have a table in the more rustic part, we were abruptly told no, even though there were free tables. At the end of the dinner, having asked for the bill, we were shown a notebook with a sheet of paper and the bill spoken out loud, which according to my calculations was 4/5 euros higher than the price list. Upon my request to pay by card I was told that the waiter had now dialed for cash. I noticed that at the next table he had also done the same trick earlier. After having collected the cash and paid it, when he returned for the change he declared that the tip was not included in the bill and waited for it to be granted. When I refused, due to his rudeness, he left without saying goodbye and muttering something in Slovenian that I thought was an insult. Rude behavior is embarrassing. It's a shame because the place isn't bad at all.

I knew we should have turned tail as soon as we saw that the waiters were dressed in natty rustic fancy dress but we quite fancied trying some of the house specialities. Unfortunately, the rabbit heading the day's specials list seemed to have hopped off so we settled for a special sausage dish and some pork. As an English man, I should, of course, relish bland food but this meal proved to be too undistinguished even for me. Top this off with a waiter who took ignoring to such a level of perfection that I wondered if archeologists might one day uncover my remains in a seated position with a debit card clutched expectantly in my bony grasp. Welcoming and friendly would be a slightly less accurate description of our waiter's demeanour than indifferent and unintetested. Reasonably priced though...

We wanted to try some typical Slovenian dishes and this experience has been good from this point of view. Also the bathroom was very clean and big enough. The bad things are the service (we hadn't cutlery and the bread was old of one week at least), there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant. However, the bill was right.
One thing that we appreciated was that the restaurant was totally accessible to people with disabilities.

We had a day trip to Ljubljana when we were spending a few days in Trieste with our choir, They chose the restaurant and we enjoyed the meal The first course was soup. The soup was tasty but quite thin more like flavoured boiled water with a few noodles but nevertheless it tasted good. Then we had some very tasty pork medallions with rice, finished off with apfelstrudel and coffee. We also had wine. The local wine is good and service was efficient. The restaurant is centrally located . Nearby is a Spar supermarket selling good wine very cheap compared to British prices,
