We visited this restaurant during the annual Restaurant Week that's held twice a year in Slovenia, once in spring and once in autumn. This restaurant is one of 105 that was participating in this edition. It is a real bargain because the special set of...one or more menus that they create for this week cost just 19 euros. This was the first time that we went to this restaurant. In the past couple of events, they were somehow fully booked already when I tried to make the reservation, even though I sent the reservation practically at the moment when they opened up the reservation site. We already know where is it located but for someone else it can be a bit more difficult to find it. They prepared a three-course menu for this edition. We started off with the appetizer which was gnocchetti with wild garlic, bell pepper, courgette, datterino tomatoes, green asparagus, and pine nuts. It tasted really good and the portion was bigger than what it seemed at the start. Next, we had the main course which was young piglet crown with honey glaze, slowly roasted pork's belly, potato espoume, cracknels, a potato side dish, and seasonal vegetables. The piglet was prepared perfectly and everything else as well, except the pork belly was a bit over in my opinion. And for dessert, we had apple crostate with Bourbon vanilla, apricot sorbet, and lemon-thyme foam. This was probably the highlight of the lunch because it was really good and you had a combination of sweet and sour that all worked really well with each other. The service was perfect and professional and the ambience of the whole place is great as well. The food itself was not that special overall compared to some other restaurants that also took part in this event but it still left a positive note.More

It was the week of restaurant which happens two times by year in Ljubljana. It was not the best location we did but still recommend to try an evening or rainy day. The location is not so easy to find in Maxim market, the food...was more than correct taken into account that in Ljubljana we eat better than most of the place in Europe. It was nothing special and a bit common but I really appreciate the service which was better than the average.More

The food, as well as the hospitality and service were all perfect. We enjoyed our evening with the cold starter salad, then continued with the medium-rare deer steak as main course and finished with three-chocolates dessert, all paired with great Slovenian wines.

We often visit different restaurants in Ljubljana, but none of them can even be compared to the high level of food and service Maxim has to offer. All the dishes are prepared with a lot of love and imagination. The service is equally amazing. We...highly recommend it!More

After a sucessful meeting we were invited to lunch at Maxim. The surrounding is strange, located in souterrain of a 70th concrete landscape. The ambiente also looks old-fashioned: Dark-wooded walls, thick curtains and a big big table - is this maybe balkans-style? However, the service...was perfect, we had a good local champagne and an even better local white wine. The food was also well composed and delicious. Unfortunately, I can recall all components, but well had a trout entre, a veal main and collection of sweets as desert. I can't tell anything about the price but it seemed expensiv. Nevertheless, because of the style worth to visit.More

We, a family of 4, were here as it was 35 oC in town. We had been walking around in this heat for about 3 hours, and were all hungry but mostly THIRSTY, We ordered each 1 bottle of 0.75 litre water, and the waitor...had to ask us 3 times if we really ment 4 bottles... We ordered a lunch each, and we got: 1 soup, main course and ice cream per person. It was the best risotto ever, so we can highly recommend this restaurant. The price was very reasonableMore

Highly recommend the cafe for tasty cakes. There is a wide choice of cakes available. Moreover, cafe interior still preserves the style of 80s.

Similar opinion exists for a shop and for nice restaurant. Food in Ljubljana is not bad but it is far from French. Prices are high because many businessmen eat here. Restaurant’s name wants to be connected with famous restaurant in Paris. Place is good but...name demands better choice and service.More
