Nice food but not ideal for bigger groups

We were a quite big group of 18 persons, they have prepared excellent food a la carte with reasonable prices. Everything was delicious. There is room for improving the service itself - we waited for almost an 1.5h untill we all got served the main meal, and couple of orderes were forgoten but everything was nice and I believe if there were less people the waiting time would be reasonable.

You probably had some cold startes before the main dish so the waiting was easier. We hope.. For bigger groups we suggest a reservation and we ussualy agree for a set menu, so the service is faster. THank you for letting us know. We are pleased that you liked the food. We'll do our best to be faster next time.

Amazing little Bistro in Celje

We discovered this place online through their Instagram. On a short trip to Rogla we decided on trying it out around 16h for a late lunch ( they allowed us in with our small Pomeranian dog ). The place is a mix of japan & french inspiration, cca 10 tables and it feels fancy but not too much so that you feel comfortable. Our waiter Matic greeted us and took our order with a smile , we went for delicious tartar , some Cigoj Lard, and both kind of Bao Buns. All of it were so TASTY, rightly portioned and delicate. The bread is obviously home made , and we didn't wait at all to be served. We were amazed with their clever and sophisticated system to store their cutlery, it's a handmade custom wood drawer build in the table ! We were only disappointed not being able to come again the next day like we originally planned. But we will surely always stop there if we drive around ! It's a total gem , and prices are reasonable, thank you ! Dejan & Marion

Incredible experience

Had a celebration at dinner time and the food was amazing! Mr Matic helped with a wine selection and everything we chose was delicious. Had fish, meat, pasta, bread etc from the menu - fantastic, stylish, tasty, and tender. Deserts are fruity, fresh, and one of them came in a terracotta flower pot ('teglc') :D Definitely coming back, the place is cozy, the staff is professional and friendly. 10/10 recommend.

Casual and creative bistro deserves a global recognition

It was very inventive and tasty. I had veal which was the first meal dish in my almost two weeks in Slovenia that I didn’t have to season. It was cooked almost perfectly. The risotto, which I tried but couldn’t eat (dietary restrictions) was done more to my taste than to the person’s who ordered it. In any case, I’m trying to be objective and this place was a very pleasant experience. If they still serve wild garlic soup, please, do yourself a huge favor and order it! I’m not a fan of vegetable soups but they did a great job. Service was great too. Also, there were some interesting servings surprises which we found amusing. And last but not least, this is the only place where we actually ordered bread here - that good!

A bit dissapointed

We ate at Lalu many times and we were satisfied each time with food and service. But when visiting the restaurant at last time we were a bit disappointed. The risotto with chicken was really average with very little chicken. The taste of sauce was too strong and the rice very mild, so I had a feeling that those two components were prepared separately. We order Pavlova cake which was without meringa. There is still room for improvement.

Great atmosfer and exelent food

The whole exerience was exelent, we visited at dinner time and ate a chicken dish for two people. This was realy amazing, we also tried some apetisers (strachetella and trout) and they were also very good. And the ambient is also beautiful, simple but stylish. I recomed this to everyone who loves simple jet great quality meals.

Everything was very tasty, haute cuisine at reasonable price. On fotos Greeting from the kitchen, Stracciatella cheese, eggplant, pistachio pesto, strawberries, Mozarrela with prosciutto, Bao buns, crispy pork, kimchi, gherkins, wasabi mayonnaise, Veal spider steak, mashed potato with truffles, green beans, Pavlova cake with berries and sorbet, Chocolate garden. Memorable food, definitely comming back.

I've eaten at the bar several times. Pleasant ambience, imaginative tasty food, this week I was charmed by the Valentine's menu. However, today we were served by the most unhelpful and unfriendly waitress, who completely spoilt the experience. It's a pity, because the food was extremely tasty, We will never go back.

Thank you for the 5/5 points on other matters such as food , athmosphere and value. Our service is usually realy polite and highly praised by our guests, so we are a litlle surprised. Intrigued by the reviews we decided to try this restaurant and we couldn't have made a better choice! We hadn't booked but they still made us sit together with our big dog who was immediately brought a bowl of water. The waiter was very friendly and speaks excellent English. We chose two starters and two main courses paired with an excellent Malvasia. Curious and successful combinations, refined cuisine, compliments to the chef for his taste and creativity... fair price for the quality and presentation of the dishes...

5 star bistro!

Everything was delicius, from starters to deserts!!! In two days visiting Celje we went two times for lunch. The best risotto, bao buns with shrimps, creme brulee top, spinach ravioli stufed with ricotta cheese!

Really tasty and delicious food! Unusual combinations perfectly blended together. Nice atmosphere and really reasonable prices. I liked the fact the choice of dishes is not too big but there is still something for every taste.

We visited the restaurant around the corner from us, Lalu. Everything was as expected, friendly service, a good five-course menu. Good choice of wine, and the food surprised me with the pate of white beans and ravioli stuffed with "jamar"and chestnut mousse.

The best food in Celje.

Very cozy little bistro with great food and professional service. Unfortunately, I was in Celje for only three days and most of the time I was traveling around the area, so I didn't come back again. The bao burger with gamberi was the best burger I've ever had in my life. They also offer a delicious homemade lemonade. I was there in the afternoon without previous reservation. I recommend this place to everyone.

I liked it all! Great homemade beer! Good wine card. The food is delicious, the serving is wonderful. First taste of cold cucumber soup - 👍 I recommend! The service is beautiful and the place itself is the same !
