There is a few restaurants on the water, we chose this one weeks in advance due to the elderly make up of our group (85th birthday). It allows for lovely on the water views but in an inclosed space, which was key. Plus my grandmas...love of pizza a rare treat as she lives in a home. The occasion was important as 3 generation that no longer live close met for a moment. We received a polite email that all my wishes are met and table to specification will be awaiting us. However upon arrival, we were met with refusal, ignorance and lack of empathy as we got placed in a drafty, non water view. Upon persistence, showing of correspondence and of a few minutes of awkward shuffling we got placed on a table of compromise closer to what we requested. Unfortunately bad start to lunch, however thankfully the “manager” which could use some hospitality training was not our server. Replaced by a lovely waitresses who was warm and attentive. Now for the food! Sweet potato fries were very good! Seasonal Menu had the asparagus gnocchi which were a hit, the chorizo, good flavours but prawns way over cooked. Pizzas hit and miss, but nothing to either complained about to write home about. Dessert a touch too sweet but presented beautifully. Overall if I walked passed popped in for a wine and quick lunch with a friend, I would be happy. But for a special occasion it was a miss for us.More

Alone or with a group of friends - River Cafe is a place worth visiting. Very friendly service, tasty food, wonderful drinks and a great atmosphere alongside the Vistula river. I highly recommend it! :)
