I had reservations for my son and I for 8 pm for a table “Na Ogródku”[ " in the garden" ( meaning in the outside seating area covered and built out into the street)]. We showed up early and we’re told to come back at...8- which was fine. Arrived at 7:53 to see two women who didn't have reservations being told that someplace for them would open soon " in the garden." The maitre d'hotel comes up to us and offers us the display table on the sidewalk. I said " Nie." "What do you mean 'no'?" I said that I wanted to sit "in the garden.." He said that all the tables there were for 4 people. [even though we could see that there were multiple two-person tables]. “ Why are these ladies being seated there? They are a party of 2.” “They have reservations.” “I know that they don't. I overheard their conversation. Besides, I have reservations.” “ Yes, you have reservations for two ‘na ogrodku’ so here is your table on the sidewalk.” “I told him that a sidewalk is not a garden.” His reply was that it was outside. I turned to my son and said "let's go. I'm not eating on a blanking sidewalk." So we're eating at a Mexican restaurant[“The Mexican”] instead. The food is good. They don’t discriminate due to our gender. And there is a very lively Mariachi band.More
