About
Travelers' Choice
2024
Gospoda Kwiaty Polskie is a restaurant with many years of experience and a central location in Warsaw's Old Town. Hidden in the alley of Wąski Dunaj street (between the Market Square and Podwale street, 50 steps from the Barbican gates), it is an alternative to touristic places that can be found directly on the main trail. In the Tavern, we serve our grandmother's kitchen, preparing dishes as we eat in our family homes. It is traditional peasant style, but also sometimes exquisite, and even experimental. We cook seasonally, although we try to make most of the positions on our menu permanent, because we know that you like to come back to your favorite dishes. If you are looking for a place for a romantic dinner in the candlelight, a quick business lunch for two hungry bears, or you just froze while walking around the Old Town and you dream of a cup of hot tea - take a peek through the large wooden window and find a table for yourself. We will welcome you kindly and warmly :-)

We were lucky to get a table here without a reservation, which was only possible as we were eating earlier in the evening due to our toddler - make sure you book if you want to eat here. The atmosphere was very cosy and cute, particularly as we visited near Christmas, and while it was quiet when we arrived it quickly filled up, and there were lots of reserved signs for later in the evening. My venison stew was delicious, but it didn’t say that I’d need a side of bread so I ordered this after it arrived. The winter teas were lovely, the pierogis were good too, and the cheesecake was ok, though definitely didn’t seem homemade like the rest of the food. Service at the start was good, though became very hard to get anyone’s attention for dessert, despite them saying they’d need our table back for a later reservation. It was on the more expensive side of the food we had, even compared to other old town restaurants we ate at, but was still good value for money given the food and environment.

Very nice place and with warm decor. We had dinner on New Year’s Eve with a set menu. I must say that we ate very well although it seemed that the managers were in a hurry to close before midnight (we were told it was not a dinner) because they brought the various dishes on repeat without giving you the opportunity to take a breath between one and the other. Otherwise everything is fine, except for the surprise of the bill because when we fixed, they told us a price that did not include VAT and the service at 12 percent. Which almost doubled the budgeted expenditure. With a bottle of wine in three we spent about 95 euros each which is no small thing not to be a dinner. Very nice atmosphere because by a strange combination the patrons were all Italian except for a table of Frenchmen who made more mess than us.

Our service Lena was really friendly and gave a lot of recommendations. The food was really nice and the price performance was really good for the portion of food that we got. The portions were quite big. The only thing that made it 4 stars instead of 5 was that I ordered potato dumplings as a side dish and got potato mash which was fine aswell. We even got a free plum liquid afterwards.

This small Hostel is a sure value of the old town, strong of its warm and flowery decoration of old Medieval Hostel (candle, bouquet, tablecloth), its micro terrace of two tables in a small historic street, its discreet and at the same time central location. The typical dishes we’ve known for 15 years are still as good as ever, and some of them like potato patties (platzki) guarantee them ‘Eternal’ Loyalty Rating. In short, you can't go wrong choosing this restaurant for lunch or dinner in the old town.

We had dinner at this splendid restaurant in Warsaw. Very intimate and relaxed atmosphere, few tables perfect for dining in peace. Edyta served us with kindness and professionalism, answering all our questions, excellent quality traditional dishes at fair prices. Absolutely recommended

Very nice place near the central square of Warsaw, on weekends they don't accept reservations and there aren't many seats inside, fortunately we only had to wait 5-10 minutes. We ordered a pork shank which didn't impress me, the meat was very fatty and at the same time stringy (I think not the best cooking), accompanied by boiled vegetables seasoned with a lot of garlic. The gluten-free options were reasonably good, my traveling companion ordered a bigos which turned out to be below expectations (too much bay leaf according to him) accompanied by some good baked potatoes. To drink a glass of beer and a glass of red wine, finishing with a terrible espresso. Total bill 45 euros for two, price slightly above average also considering the quality of the dishes.

We left to visit the Jewish history museum and we planned to go to eat there because we had seen it a couple of days ago and we found it very cute. The visit went on somewhat longer than expected and we arrived there at about 3.30pm. I peeked at the door to ask if we had a choice for a table for all four of us (I obviously asked in English for my parents and little brother), when I peeked out there was the empty restaurant, with only one girl eating. There was a waitress behind the bar with the cell phone so I had to talk to her, she looked up and put on my face “they are coming to bother”, I asked them about the possibility of eating and another waitress came out without much encouragement and pointed us to a table, held a letter and went behind the bar with the cell phone. The treatment was terrible no, the next thing, the effort to understand us was minimal, and the desire to serve us was to "leave now please". A lousy deal, and cell phone earrings hidden behind the bar, the tip we left was the one collected on the bill.

We have eaten at this wonderful place! The entrance and decoration invites you to enter, the food is very good, especially the soup inside bread. I want to highlight the attention on the part of MAGDALENA, impressive, very friendly, she recommended very well and above all her language skills, we started speaking in English And when she heard that we were Spanish, she easily went on to explain everything to us in Spanish! A nice experience, we highly recommend it!!!!!

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish at Gospoda Kwiaty Polskie for lunch. It was delightful to find a quiet place to relax tucked away off the main square. The atmosphere inside was warm and inviting, yet cool on a hot day outside. Our server, Kinga, was helpful and offered suggestions.
The food was traditional and delicious. It seems that cabbage rolls are not easy to find and this is why our guide suggested this restaurant in particular. We also enjoyed the mushroom sausage soup served in a large rye bread roll. For sides, we ordered the boiled vegetables and mixed salad and both were tasty and just right.
If we would stay longer in Warsaw, we would definitely visit Gospoda Kwiaty Polskie again to try their other dishes.

I was lucky that despite being almost full, I arranged a table, and even having an expected 1 hour period for the meal to be ready, came in 20 minutes, an excellent meat, and a spectacular dessert, not to forget the beer that harmonized everything very well. The only detail was forgetting to ask for the accompanying 😅. And the price? Super suitable to what I asked, to return without a doubt. To say that the sympathy of whoever was serving was always good.

A good place to discover traditional Polish cuisine. Located in the heart of the old town, the restaurant offers a rustic and warm decor, fast service. Our friendly waitress Lena was good advice when choosing the dishes. Beetroot and ravioli borsch, traditional sausage and potato patties were delicious and hearty! A beautiful discovery!

Delightful lunch after a walking tour of Warsaw. We liked the location - away from the square and to my husband's joy, they had tripe soup. A childhood favorite of his. I enjoyed the sour rye soup in the bread bowl, a honey ale and they treated us to a cherry shot for dessert. Lovely service from Kinga.

We ate here for our last meal in Warsaw. We had Fillet steak and Chicken breast and they were both very succulent. We were served by Edyta, who was extremely pleasant and spoke very good English, which we were grateful for ,as Polish is a very difficult language to learn. We followed our main dish with a sorbet, all accompanied by a bottle of Malbec. Would just like to point out that it is an A la Carte menu but good prices and is quite difficult to find as set back a little on the street. We can highly recommend this.

What a jolly restaurant. We first spotted it when walking past one evening and saw that every table was full when others had plenty of availability. That’s a good guide in itself, so we called in and booked a table for the following night.
We weren’t let down. A range of Polish dishes were on the menu as well as few different dishes. The staff did not stop all evening and our waitress, Sara, was particularly helpful.
The atmosphere, quality of food and the service all combined to make our final evening in Warsaw a very special one indeed.
Thank you.
