All reviews duck mushroom soup goose leg polish sausage pierogi mashed potatoes pancakes tartare old town cherry sauce quaint restaurant our waiter polish restaurant market square great food and service traditional food main dish
In a side street off the main Old Town Square. Very quaint.
I tried the mulled wine. It was so good I had a second serving.
Kris the waiter recommended the goose leg with Polish potato cakes. I have never had goose before. But it...was succulent and delicious. Just fell off the bone.
Thanks Kris. Will call again sometime when I next in the Old Town.More
We really enjoyed this place, the food was amazing, Kris our waiter recommended some delicious dishes and also nice drinks. The place is really cosy, music really nice and we really felt like at home. Thanks @kris for the nice experience, we will definitely try...the nice polish liqueur again ;)More
Very cosy place, tasty dishes, kind and helpful staff.
Special thanks to the Kris, who made our dinner just perfect.
Definitely recommend this place.
Will visit it once again when I'm in Warsaw.
Thank you, guys?!
Kris, the waiter, welcomed and seated us very quickly as we entered the rustic restaurant. The decor seemed very traditional, cosy and homely, and the food was unbelievable. Kris took the time to show us the menu and make recommendations, which we ordered, including the...Veal dishes, Polish sausage, cabbage rolls and Polish pancakes. It was all divine... I would visit Warsaw again, just for this food.More
A warm, inviting environment garnished with folksy music and quaint decor. This charming restaurant is a great escape from the sporadic April winds and rain. Warming up with a sweet mulled wine and beetroot borscht was the perfect decadence paired with light, crispy potato pancakes...and soft, filling pierogies. Above all, the attention and care served by Edyte makes this experience a must!More
Me and my sister had a wonderful lunch at the Gospoda Kwiayy Polskie!
Our waiter, Kris, advised us a very cool hot polish wine with vodka to start, since it was a cold snowy day.
Then we had a hot tomato soup and 2 rounds...of mixed dumplings. Everything was very tasteful and we loved the typical polish dishes and the simpathy of Kris that at the end of our lunch gave us a polish vodka to try 🙂
We strongly advise you to go there!More
Great food in an old school Polish way.
I can greatly recommend the Żurek soup or Tartar as a starter and the Bigos as a main dish. All the food was delicious and our waiter Kris made sure we had a nice meal.
The food...came fast and you could taste the "freshness" of the food. In one word: amazing!
Also the complementary peanut vodka was a nice way to end the dinner. :)More
The restaurant looks like an old atmospheric tavern. The location is great; on quiet alley right next to old town market square. The restaurant feels quite authentic therefore it is not your typical "tourist restaurant" with low quality and expensive food which you will find...all over world.
The service was decent but felt a little cold. We only ate lunch and the restaurant was almost full with bigger parties ordering many portions and drinks so maybe they felt we weren´t as profitable customers as them. The service was quick though.
They offer many traditional polish dishes and you should stick to them.
I ate the venison stew which was really good. Also their potato pancakes were truly tasty, probably the best ones I ate in Poland.
On the other hand the trout was not. The fish had a nice smoky flavour in it but it was dry and saltless. The dish would have required a sauce or something else not to be so flavorless (maybe a tartare-sauce or hollandaise sauce?). French fries as a side dish were also flavourless and again no dipping sauce or anything. It seems like they make great tradional polish food but that cannot be said of other dishes.
If you want to eat in Stare Miasto, this restaurant is a reasonable choice. If you want something more culinary or better value meal, you will have to look outside Stare Miasto.More
So we’re not going to be regulars but for a seasonal supper your could do worse (and also better) at this old town tavern. The Rye soup was savory, the lard lackluster, the ribs in gravy over roasted and the cheesecake dry and crumbly (this...is not your NYC Juniors cheesecake for the curious). The herring though was as if it swam out of the ocean to our table - fresh and fab. The wine list lacked wines from the homeland (why am I going out for polish food to drink wines from New Zealand ). The service was slow but charming. The room lovingly decorated for the holidays. And the atmosphere warm and inviting. Better than your average tourist trap but don’t be expecting haute polish cuisine here. You’ll get a fair to average meal at a fairly average price.More
