A small but pleasant café that is not overly saturated with Warsaw memorabilia which some touristy cafes can feel like. In fact, the ambience here was laid back, but really nice inside. The waitress was really pleasant too and spoke good English, which was great as I could hardly speak any Polish myself. I wasn't waiting long for service either when it came to the bill or food but I also wasn't made to feel rushed at any point. The menu is simple with not too much, or too little choice. It had with English translations underneath for the title and ingredients which was helpful knowing what to get. Menu selection was polish inspired with a couple of western dishes thrown in too. When the food arrived it was hot and incredibly tasty. I loved the creamy mushroom soap served in the bread roll - quite filling. For the main meal however I went for the creamy cheese filled dumplings which was so good! I went for the strawberry juice drink which was also a nice touch and quite flavourful. For the price point I felt it to be quite fair. For 2 soft drinks, the starter (soup) and the main the total came to about £18-19 which isn't too bad. Whilst this could no doubt be cheaper at other Polish cafes in Warsaw, this is still probably one of the cheapest in the Old Town. Plus as I dont speak polish I'm happy to pay a little more to be at ease with conversing in English. I would definitely have dined here again if I had the money and will certainly do so if I visit Warsaw again.

After walking around the Old Town, we started thinking about our daily bread. In the historical center, most establishments offered approximately the same dishes of Polish cuisine, and we sat down at a table in an alley. We thought that the tables belonged to another establishment, so we didn’t specifically choose them. We ordered sausages and potato pancakes. The waitress asked if we wanted sausages with cabbage or fried onions. We chose it with onions. The pancakes also came with stewed meat. For drinks, I ordered Aperol, and my friend ordered beer. The dishes were a decent size, looked appetizing and were tasty and filling. The bill was about 30 euros, but this is a tourist place.

I was here with some friends for dinner. Not a huge place but a truly welcoming environment that gives the idea of a family place. Friendly staff and quick service. They offer traditional Polish cuisine. I tried a soup and goulash served with potato pancakes. All really very good: the soup served in bread was tasty and the goulash very tender and tasty. Reasonable prices despite being in the city center.

We went to dinner at the restaurant, the waitress brought us an aperitif to the table without us asking: we therefore think that it was a small accompaniment served free with the drinks. So we eat it. Then at the time of the bill we ask her why we are paying it knowing that we didn't ask for anything: she tells us that they went to the wrong table and that it was for the one next door but since we have it eaten we have to pay for it! Plus another dish that we never ordered is added to the bill! But the waitresses and the owner don't want to know anything "it was up to us to ask what it was before eating it" Unacceptable so we couldn't do anything

A small restaurant serving national cuisine. Located in the historical center of the city. The room is small and not very cozy. I tried potato pancakes with goulash and hot beer. The potato pancakes were very fatty and fried, I didn’t like them at all. I've never tried hot beer, but I liked it. The waiter was polite and tried to explain the features of the dish in Polish.

A second visit to this restaurant a year later. We took a walk around the old town, read the menu at the Michelin-starred restaurant and decided to repeat our lunch at this restaurant. We sat down outside again - we didn't like the room very much, it was crowded and noisy. Dishes weren't long in coming, Aperol cheered up. The tasteful qualities of the dishes were quite satisfactory to us, received full moral satisfaction.

We got attracted to this restaurant by its traditional Polish menu and a cosy interior. The starters came quickly, and before we were finished with the starters, the main dishes arrived. That was really awkward and unprofessional. It was explained to us that it is the kitchen that decides when the dishes are to be served (!). Despite this weird experience, the food and service were very good. The prices are reasonable for this hot location.

Friendly and courteous service. If you do not book they make you wait outside while a table opens up. The pirogi potatoes and cheese with bacon are good and so are the dumplings with spinach and potatoes. Apple pie with delicious vanilla ice cream. One of the best ice creams ever eaten, full of vanilla and above all a huge portion. Very good quality price, we spent about 15€ each and came out completely full.

My dining experience in this restaurant could only be compared to slightly above a take-away venue, as there is absolutely no atmosphere, nothing to make you enjoy your surroundings in this restaurant. The food was adequate and quite reasonable which is the only reason I am giving the review 2 stars, otherwise this place hasn’t much going for it. The wait staff are surly and bordering on rude & lazy, and they charge a 10% service fee. Avoid the wine at all costs as it tastes like vinegar, perhaps stick with the beer which is reasonably priced. Very disappointing dining experience.

Really cozy little place in the Warsaw city centre. The most amazingly friendly staff made us feel very much welcome. The traditional food was spot on and the accompanying drinks were both heart and soul warming :) 10/10 do recommend!

The staff here were very friendly. They have a wide selection of different types of polish food at affordable prices. I had the fried pierogi and liked that I could choose a topping as well as my filling as other places I visited on our trip didn’t allow that and my boyfriend had the sausages.

Gospoda Pod Zygmunten welcomed us with warmth and courtesy. The menu is varied and well assorted, and offers an excellent choice of Polish cuisine. The pierogies were very good, but also the chicken liver and the Hungarian goulash (which we really appreciated was not particularly spicy). Our waitress Daria was very kind, always smiling and quick with service. Reasonable price. To try!

I had a lovely meal at this place. I tried going to Zapiecek next door and was turned away into the rain by a teenager who was the lone waitress. The kind old gentleman at this establishment welcomed me in with a smile and the wait staff was attentive! I had a delicious Pork and latke dish that I had to summon all the self control I could muster not to drink the broth right off the dish!! Second came a heaping plate of pierogis with bolognese within and bacon on top. I washed this down with a delicious lager and suddenly a rainy day in Warsaw Poland became a core memory. Kudos to the friendly attentive staff here!

Took a chance on this place as it looked full and friendly. And we were not disappointed. Many locals enjoying Polish dishes at good prices. The potato pancakes were great, as was the mushroom soup (in bread bowl) and the apple cake desert. Staff are attentive and fun. Quite good for vegetarians too, and good value.

Inexpensive lunch place in the old town, directly across from St. Joseph's Cathedral. I stopped in for lunch prior to an organ concert at the cathedral. The pierogies were good with a few options of filling
