The Best Steak in Warsaw

I wanted to tell all of my fellow Americans and anyone visiting Warsaw this is a must place to eat and drink. My wife and I went to Whiskey in the Jar for a late lunch. First off this place is rare in that it is literally on a trolley stop in a prime location in what used to be the old Hortex building. It kind of has the House of Blues vibe. The hours are great in that breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. When we walked in we was greeted by Piotr, who promptly seated us. He recognized right away that I spoke only English and my wife spoke both Polish and English. At this point, he brought us our menus and (this is very rare with wait staff) he spoke to me in only English got my order and than asked my wife in Polish for her order. Piotr made sure to ask us each visit in both languages. This made me finally feel inclusive at a restaurant as any wear else only speaks to my wife in Polish meaning she is always ordering for me. Piotr truly knows how to be a great waiter and certainly made the visit memorable. Next, the food is probably the best I’ve eaten in the years of coming to Poland. I had the spicy bbq burger with fries. The burger was cooked to perfection. The quality was excellent with the beef. My wife had the ribeye with mashed potatoes, she said it was better than any steakhouse she has eaten at in America. The prices here are very reasonable for the quality. As for the bar service we both had excellent drinks and there is a very large drink selection. This place has excellent food, service, and makings for success. If you go make sure Piotr is your waiter his English is perfect, service impeccable, and smile is contagious.

Delicious Dinner, great music: a perfect evening

I made a dinner reservation for 4 people. The waiter, Norbert, was very accommodating, helpful with the menu, funny, and attentively asked if we would like a little bday candle on the bday person's steak! We had a "jar" drink each (Watermelon, Porn Star, and Killer Jar) and all of them were tasty. Additionally, we had 4 main courses: 2x King Steak, salmon, and ribs. Each of the main courses comes with two side dishes. My king stake was PERFECT. Medium well: on point. The sides, mashed potatoes with truffle oil, as well as the red beet with feta cheese complemented the steak wonderfully. Bill was 520 PLN for 4 main courses (salmon, ribs, and 2x steak, 4 Jars and 1 Jäger Bomb) The live music act was a talented young man with a guitar accompanied by a piano player, and his cover songs were just the perfect musical addition to the dinner. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly and will come back. Card payment possible. Reservation beforehand recommended especially on the weekend.

Tender steaks & attentive staff

Splendid restaurant! The steaks are divine and the staff are excellent. We got 2 steaks, cooked medium with steak fries and grilled vegetables. It’s was exquisitely cooked to perfection. Highly recommended and the waiter Piotr was very pleasant and attentive to us and our children (one was in a wheelchair). Compliments to chef and staff 👏

Very wide selection of drinks and steak cuts, and everything we had was delicious. You get a sauce and 2 sides with your steak and there are plenty of those to choose from as well. On top of that, if you ask for your steak to be rare - it really is, and the quality of the meat is worth it. Our server was lovely as well, thanks Rita!

Really great concept but so bad service A concept doesn’t mean you forget customer satisfaction. Food is good. Music is great. Large wide range of cocktail, whisky,…. But wait 40mn for meat is not acceptable. Some waiters need to learn how to smile and be empathetic with customers. Marketing is not only the key of the success Especially when you pay a huge money for meat ! When you leave the restaurant the hostess is more interesting to text on her mobile phone than to say “goodbye, thanks for your visit” Which the minimum we could expect…..

Worst birthday ever

Currently sat writing this whilst waiting for my meal as I’ve waited over 1hour and 15mins for a main meal. So we had a reservation at 7, finally got our starter at quarter past 8… my first drink I ordered was a pepsi by the time the starter came out the glass that came with ice in had melted. We then waited another hour for our main. I get it’s busy but that’s a joke of a wait if you can’t keep up with business don’t offer a service you can’t keep up with. And to top it off it wasn’t nothing special how this is number 2 is beyond me, we had this booke 3 weeks prior our visit for my other half’s birthday who was super excited about it and it’s just been a let down

Never go to whiskey in the jar cauz its popular

Dont do reservation deposit because they will take it. This is the most overrated place i’ve ever been into. Really loud music and they were really annoyed when they came with the food, talked in hurry and that stressed us out, the food was ok but not nearly worth all the money, soda drinks were like water. If you dont want to be disapointed dont go Whiskey in the jar! We spent over about 1000 pln (the reservation included)

Great food, drinks and service.

I went here with my family and everyone's meal was delicious. We ordered medium Viking steak, Country burger(with extra jalapenios), BBQ ribs, Pork tenderloin and some starters. We also had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which were amazing in taste and in looks. The only downside of this place is very loud music. Some people might like it but for a family meeting where there's a lot of conversations it was a little annoying. The service was also amazing. We were served by Karolina. She was very cheerful and one of the greatest waitresses in Warsaw(my opinion). Overall, outstanding place and I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Even if you’re not a diehard rock fan, you will feel right at home in Warsaw’s WinJ. The food was great and the drinks were on point. We had the pleasure to be looked after by Ms Julita. She gave us much needed menu advices and was the kindest person on earth;) All in all, tasty food, wonderful atmosphere n amazing music makes this place one of the greatest in Warsaw.

Nice burgers with good music

Great restaurant in the centre of Warsaw. The food was really good, they have a huge drinks menu with cocktails and the waiters were really nice and efficient. The only remark would be the time we had to wait for the food, but it was worth, the burgers were delicious.

This was our 2nd visit to WitJ, first time in Warsaw, and as expected it was amazingly pleasing event. The staff is professional, friendly, smiling and staying true to a spirit of a biker bbq joint, where everyone are friends and the only goal is to have a good time. Food was heavenly good, the steaks are just mouthwatering and all the additions were out of ordinary as well. Drinks offer is vast and there something for everyone, including as picky people as my wife, but thanks to Peter, she managed to find more then one drink that allowed her to leave the place happier. We highly recommend this place and will surely revisit, both brand and this exact location.

Staff is nice and friendly, atmosphere is good. However, I did not find the food to live up to other reviews. Nachos were just heated up doritos with some dip next to it. "Drink of the month" was some fancy-colored vodka red bull. Main course ("viking steak") was well made but you can get much better quality for that price in Warsaw.

Waited over 1 hour for main meals and when the burgers and fries arrived they were all mildly warm. It was as if the burgers and fries had been batch cooked and kept in a warming tray , defo not freshly fried. I complained and eventually about 20 mins later another portion of fries arrived. They had the audacity to charge me for them , until I complained again . I asked to speak to the manager and he told me to deduct the cost of fries off the bill. No apology whatsoever , we will not be back. 100% overrated.

Ok food but nothing special

We were tempted to visit the place as it was ranked as no.1 in Warsaw. The food was ok, prices are competitive and the service was fast... and that’s pretty much it. Definitely not a no.1 restaurant in Warsaw, actually seems a bit like an elevated and better version of TGIF. The steaks were a bit under seasoned and the quality of meat was not what you would expect in a place that focuses on steaks. Overall, seems like a pretty good choice for a casual lunch but not a special place for dining.

This was a cool place. The menu is rich for both young and older ones, and the food tasted great. Nice prices for food and drinks, and the service was very good. The reason why i choose to not give max score is the lack of gluten options. They have 6 sauses for the steaks, but only Herb butter was glutenfree. Also, they don’t have any glutenfree options of beers, despite the fun fact that they did have a drink which include a Conrona Extra, but you couldn’t buy the Corona separate!? Anyway, if you’re a top restaurant you should have some good options for allergy sufferers on the menu.
