What a terrible place I’ve asked for a rosół ( consume ) which is the simplest soup in Poland also most traditional and you can get that everywhere but rosół at that place it was tasteless I mean water bit of pasta and bit of...parsley . It’s a joke . The owner supposed to be famous culinary critic and takes pride in that dish well I’d suggest to check own restaurant occasionallyMore

Polka by Magda Gessler has great food - we did try few options and hat off to all very very tasty plus very friendly service. “Tatar” , “schabowy” “Rosol” “pierogi” “polka cocktails” even “house wino” all amazing!! I’ll come back here again!

Despite the cozy atmosphere, our experience was marred by neglectful service. Despite three waiters and only a few occupied tables, no one approached us for our order during the 20 minutes we waited. Frustrated, we decided to leave.

Beautiful decor. Reservations for five but only three of us came in. Still didn’t know about the other two if were joining. They, the maître’d couldn’t decide on the table for us even though the restaurant was half empty. Waited for service for a long...time because, as was explained to us by a very pleasant server, they had to take care of a large group in another room. Food: very good herring, herring tatar, excellent bread. Success with ribs and pork schnitzel. On the other hand, the most expensive item on the menu - a steak, was full of grizzles and tough. Asked to change the sweet potato to white potatoes puréed but got the sweet potatoes anyways. When reminded the server, she brought white potatoes but not purée. I left it at that. A suggestion - the paper napkins do not add to elegance of the decor. So it’s a mix bag review - I’d try a different place next time.More

On 7 December four of us visited for an evening meal. The restaurant had a large group in another room, and it was obviously overwhelmed. Although we had booked, we waited over five minutes to be seated. We ordered soup as starter, which was good. But...two of us ordered the Chef's Choice of Carp for mains, which was terrible. It was solid, and appeared to have been microwaved from frozen. It was full of bones, tasted foul and looked awful. We expected fresh flaky meat but it was nothing like that. I complained, but the waitress did not respond and another waiter just nodded and did nothing, either not speaking English or playing dumb. The goose was ordered by another and was very hard and chewy - dreadful. It was a night to forget.More

Trap music instead of restaurant type music. Poor menu. Not tasty food at all. Lemon with meat? Nothing good at all. I do not recommend this.

This place is super cute with a nice interior design. The host sat us at a table for two in the first room and we were quickly greeted by a smiling waitress. We ordered some pierogis and potato pancakes, but when we ordered the waitress...missed that one if us was having mushroom with the pickle side while the other was having sour cream. We didn't mind this, since the food was delicious anyways. They only had the spinach pierogj but that was the choice we wanted so it was fine by us. After eating the waitress asked if we wanted something else, which we said no to and figured this would be a sign for the check. Nope. Took about half an hour before we were able to get her to bring us the check. That wouldn't have been too bad, if we didn't have to go back to the parking before the time ran out... all in all the food was delicious, but the service needs to step up just a bit :)More

Visited with my husband for our anniversary. Crayfish stew was tasty. Bezo dessert was superb. Nothing special about the breaded porkchop which why I came for bec of what I saw on tv that its the best tasting porkchop. I got intrigued but it tasted...ordinary. Overall, it is a good experience with staff and it was filing but it did not satisfy us as we came with a lot of good expectation knowing Magda Gessler's image of reviving restos in brink of closing. Price is fair, considering its situated next to the Royal Palace in Warsaw.More

The staff was lazy and even though the restaurant was basically empty it seemed as though the didn’t have time for us. When we finally got to order our food we waited a 50 minutes for our salads. The salad itself was very simple with...only one small piece of cheese even though it was a cheese salad and the bacon was hard and cold. Would never recommend and is not worth a visitMore

First of all I want to say how great the staff were! First class service from start to finish! The restaurant is in a great location right in the centre of the old town! The decor is very old and traditional, however if you want...this look then you need to maintain it! The restaurant looks like it needs a complete makeover! As for the food. Very mediocre! We ordered the ribs. When they arrived they looked great, however they were unbelievable tough! I’ve never had ribs this rubbery! We also ordered the duck. Again looked great, but weird taste in the sauce and the meat was very dry! However we also ordered the pork knuckle and this was really good! Great taste and succulent meat! Apparently “Magda” hasn’t been to this restaurant since it opened 16 years ago, so if you want a “Famous Chef” experience there are much better options in Warsaw! Maybe for her next TV series Magda should visit her own restaurants!! I feel sorry for the excellent staff trying their best to keep a dead horse running!!More

The Patato puffers were burnt to a crisp at the edges. Really nasty. I have watched Magda flip the table over for less on TV! I might have had too high expectations, but hey I have learned from the best watching Kitchen Revolutions. The waiter...didn’t even bother asking if I enjoyed it when he removed the plate with the inedible part of the portion still on it. Can’t blame him really. :-) When we got the bill (payed by card) my local currency was preselected. Something I always strive to avoid. Anyway, i am moving on now, going somewhere nicer to have the burnt taste washed out of my mouth. I think it’s time for the shoemakers daughter to have her broken shoes repaired!More

The food was really bad. I expect so much more from the restaurant of Magda. We took soup and polish pancakes of patato s but no salt no peper nothing. I took duck the meet was very dry and no taste ! I told this...to the stuff guy but he just said “ oke “ and we still have to pay for something that was really bad and we didn’t even eat just try ... I will never go back again there and will not recommend to any of my family or friends! So Magda I give you 2/10 👎🏼More

My mom and I have visited Polka couple years ago and we really loved it. Coming back to it we had the same expectations of great food, friendly and informative service and lovely and warm atmosphere. This is not what we found. Our waiter was...extremely unfriendly, we asked him a question and he gave us a snarky comment about how we should know what the dish was. The food really wasn’t anything special and quite overpriced for the quality. I ordered the assortment of dumplings which were fine but most definitely not worth the price charged for them. The room was beautiful (green with flowers painted everywhere) but the atmosphere was cold. At no point we felt comfortable and welcomed. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant I think you can find better places in Warsaw old town.More
