ABOUT US The Romantic Restaurant is located in the historic cellars of the Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature in Warsaw. An intimate, warm and history-filled interior combined with a simple, modern design creates a unique atmosphere. From Spring to late Autumn, we cordially invite our guests to dine in our garden in the Old Town Square with a view of the Mermaid – the symbol of Warsaw. The Romantic Restaurant arose from a genuine need to introduce people to cuisine based on Polish seasonal products of the highest quality. We wish to host our guests with excellent Polish cuisine as well as wines from the most interesting vineyards in the world —all this accompanied by professional service. In the Romantic kitchen we pride ourselves on using chiefly Polish products. Tending to the freshness and seasonality of our dishes, we change our menu several times a year. We had a wonderful mushroom soup, poured into a beautiful plate with sour creme, julienne vegetables, mushrooms and greens, in front of our eyes. Followed by piroggen russian style and duck, and a round up of very tasty and beautiful looking chocolate surprise. Kamil our waiter was very friendly and professional, we will come again!

We visited several restaurants in the area and this one stands out from the others for both food and its first class service. The restaurant is well presented and the food was exceptional (I had the steak, my children had the dumplings, my father had the pork cheeks, and my mother the ceasar salad). The quality of service was noticeably well above the standard of the others - we were treated to first class by properly trained waiters. I highly recommend for a special experience.

Great feeling within the restaurant. Greeted by Lili who was nothing but attentive, but not too much.
We had breakfast... would highly recommend omelette.
Price for 2 breakfast, green tea and 2 coffees, which were spot on was 115PLN. So £23.
Great location in Old Town Market Square!

Not sure if it's just me, but I don't understand how this restaurant received 4.5 ranking.
We ordered tagliolini with shrips, salmon with black lentil, two glasses of Satellite Sauvignon Black and bottle of still water, and paid 197 zloty. We paid for average pasta and bland salmon, but the wine was good(but I'm not wine expert). A waiter was super excited about guests inviting. However, the service was not so great as it looked like.
I think that customer should know that he will be charged with extra fee(18zl in our case). There is no written information about service fee in menu, we were neither notified about service fee by waiter!
I think that food and service were NOT worth of 197zl, and I'm sure you can find a better restaurant with appropriate service in Warsaw. I wouldn't visit this restaurant again, so I'm unable to recommend it either.

We had asked for a reservation two months in advance because we wanted a special place to have dinner for my partner’s birthday. When we arrived, we said we had a reservation and we were clearly put on a random table, when we had specifically asked for a private table for two. We were sitting on a table for 4 people in the middle of the room, while there were plenty of more intimate tables available.
We had a boletus soup that was alright, a dish of stake that was very good but the quantities were very small for the price we paid. We also didn’t enjoy the wine but that’s more of a private preference.
Summing up: the space seems to be lovely but we definitely did not enjoy it as we had requested, plus the amount of food is not worth the high price. You also have to pay 10% service/dish, which is something we hadn’t seen in Warsaw. On the other hand, the waiter spoke English and was very nice.

After sampling many of the other restaurants in the area, we tried Romantyczna Restauracja and found the food to be delicious, and the ambiance was unique. Other restaurants were above ground and were rebuilt afer WWII. This place however is underground, and the intricate brickwork was original pre-war. It really added a unique flavor to our experience.

A very good restaurant with some limitations. First. The food is very good and the service as well. But. I had 2 glass of wine which exceeded the price of the food and the put a service charge on the bill which was never mentioned.
Don't recommend. I hat cheaters.

I took my wife here for her birthday last Saturday. I chose this place for its diverse and tantalizing menu and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere certainly was quiet and intimate, the service was discrete, considerate and exceptional and the food superb in its preparation and presentation. We started with the Espresso Martini (my wife) and the Martini Spritz (me). My wife had the roast duck and I the saddle of venison both done to perfection with tasty vegetable medleys and sauces that were savory and perfectly complemented the game. The lemon tarts for dessert were the perfect finish. This experience was the ideal end to our visit to our first to the beautiful and exciting city of Warsaw. Your restaurant is most highly recommended.

We spent some time looking for somewhere that looked different for Hogmanay (I’m Scottish!!). The six course tasting menu looked excellent - however the food itself (with the exception of the crème brûlée) was quite mediocre. The beef medallions were the most disappointing and really quite tough. For a cost over the equivalent of £200 (excluding drinks) I was expecting and hoping for much more. Perhaps given the restaurant is in the main market square in the centre of the tourist area we should have known better. We won’t be returning for sure

The menu was the main appeal of this restaurant as it had a couple of vegetarian options, which seemed quite rare in the neighbouring restaurants. Once inside we could see the beautiful restaurant rooms in the cellar of the building. It was a cold April evening but the restaurant was warm.
We had 2 goats cheese salads, for starters and then for main DH had pork cheeks, which he said were really good, while my son and I had roasted cauliflower. Not something I have had before, but it was really nice. All the meals were presented really nicely. We all had local beer with our meals. DH had cheesecake for dessert, and we finished with coffee all for £86 which was fantastic value for the great quality of the food. Service was excellent and at no point did we feel rushed.

Nice and welcoming place. I recommend it for a romantic dinner. Quality of food good. Some communication difficulties. I wanted to order vegetables that I could not find on the menu, I asked the waiter if you could have .... I got a plate with tortelli with vegetable filling. I recommend ordering from the menu. Account not expensive

While entering the restaurant, we were asked if we want to drink or have a supper, and if we want only to have a drink there is no table for us. There would be a table only if we would order something to eat. Horrible attitude to the customer. I hate such questions and attitude. I do not recommend to have a drink there.

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here. The service was attentive, thoughtful and flexible (we’d booked for 12 and on the day 14 turned up which they accommodated well). We were given a room to ourselves, the table was beautifully decorated and the food was wonderful. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back next time we’re in Warsaw.

The food is excellent, the staff is professional and very kind. The restaurant is very romantic with lots of flowers and candles, overall a great ambience. We got engaged in this romantic restaurant and it was perfect. The staff was really helpfull with the engagement. Thank you for this perfect unforgetable moment!

This restaurant had phenomenal service, appealing food arrangement, delicious food & beautiful ambiance even in the garden.
Vlad & his team were friendly, very efficient & always showed up in time for my next request. I never had to ask twice. He even brought me a blanket to cover myself because it got cooler quickly. I will definitely go back on my next visit to Warsaw. Even solo.
