Excellent local fare!

I wish I could tell you exactly what I had, but I simply asked the waitress to give me the most traditional soup and food for Warsaw. She brought me a sour rye soup with egg in a bread bowl and meat filled pierogies. They were both excellent! I am in Warsaw quite often and I will make this a regular visit.

Excellent service and quality

Visited this restaurant with a colleague on a business trip, Tom the waiter was excellent in recommending the food (Duck was fab) and a great Polish red wine. It was my colleague birthday and Tom and the team presented him with a cake and a very pleasant vodka..... would highly recommend this quaint restaurant to anyone...if we come back to Warsaw we will pop in again...Chris & Neil

Great soup and staff

We ordered Zurek, it was served in a “bread pot”. The idea is really nice. The quality and the taste of the bread were fresh baked and perfectly salty. Zurek by itself had big pieces of white mushrooms. The interier is warm and soft. Truly recommend!

Feeling like a fool

Food was good. Of course I should have checked the menu before I ordered instead of just go with the waiters suggestion, which apparently was the most expensive course on the menu, as well as the most expensive wine when I just asked for “a glass of red wine. Really felt cheated on when I got the bill... Shame on me I guess.

Good morning ...... THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT honestly I don't understand why did you rate the restaurant 1? For the prices shown on the menu? 100 ml dry wine costs PLN 10. We do not have any other wine by the glass. The price of 100 ml sweet dessert wine Porto costs PLN 28. Last message .... ONE waiter has been working in the restaurant for a long time. Are you sure you visited our restaurant?

Beware the Bill

Always so disappointing to feel ripped off. This will not be a happy memory from Warsaw. We were aware of the location and higher prices, but the bill was nearly three times the price of other places we have eaten near to this restaurant. We originally asked for some house wine, but foolishly accepted the recommendation of the waiter to try a bottle of Polish wine. How ridiculous of us to not ask the price and to not think that after asking for house wine, the waiter would then provide us with a very expensive bottle that we would never have selected had we been shown a price list. When paying we were actually asked to leave a tip! The large bill didn't feel right, so upon closer inspection back at our apartment we found that service of 59PLN was included in the middle of the bill (not at the end) plus we had paid a further 65PLN when asked to. We returned to the restaurant and the owner did refund the extra 'tip', but too late, we felt ripped off and disappointed by the whole experience

To start with, I didn't give anyone any money. If someone gave you money back, it was definitely not the owner. Are you complaining that you paid a lot? The restaurant is not to blame here in any aspect. Is it normal for the waiter to propose something better and more expensive? The difference between table and Polish wine is PLN 100. 10% of service information on the card. It's abnormal for you to blame everyone but yourself. Don't you write about the tasty dishes you praised the waiter? Often, despite the included service, satisfied guests give the waiter extra money. Nobody comes back for this money. You know?

Terrible service and poor food.

This restaurant is in the main old town square in Warsaw, which means that people will always stop for a bit to eat. But you shouldn't..!! Staff are always looking to pad your bill with unwanted items. I asked about a particular drink, and said I didn't want it as it was alcoholic and I was driving. They brought it anyway.!! I chose 'mushrooms with cream' from the menu, but what I got was a mushroom soup made in cream with a thick layer of oil on top. It was disgusting. I complained and all I got was 'That is the way we make it here.' Family members with me were also disappointed. The meat came at different temperatures. And the hot salad was cold and mushy. Very poor..!!

A mushy salad? Pictures of salads are on our website and I do not understand this allegation. I asked you to send a picture of the receipt so that I can comment on your dissatisfaction. You did not do that. I do not agree with the allegation of fatty soup, because the mushroom soup is of very good quality as evidenced by numerous entries from satisfied guests. I will not comment on the other things because you have not fulfilled the request that I mentioned in the e-mail sent to you.

Wonderful place with a cozy atmosphere. Very hospitable staff, attentive courteous waiters, especially Thomas, thank you very much, it was very nice to spend a family evening in this restaurant perfect and fast serving, everything was very tasty, top notch. Thank you very much I recommend everyone to visit!

Amazing authentic Polish food

A very warm and comfortable restaurant. One of the oldest warsaw restaurants. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The meal was perfect, had an authentic duck entree that waiter recommended and it was mouth watering. You are really missing out on a wonderful Polish eating experience if you don’t try this restaurant. Highly recommend and can’t wait to get back to Poland to eat there again.

Not to recommend in Warsaw

We walked thigh Warsaw and wanted to have a snack shortlygegore lunch in a typical polish restaurant. Walking in we became guided directly to the garden outside what was fine. We also received riggt away 3 menus. Just after that it took for ever that we could order the drinks in a very difficult order, 1 beer and 2 cappuccinos. She brought after 20min (even 3 other guest in the garden at the same time) 1 beer and 1 cappuccino. To reorder the 2nd coffe took another 5 min. Than after it the food, so 45min gone to order, what would not be a issue, bit there wheee no business. The food was poor, the coffee was very poor and that’s than for a charge of 130Zlt. Not to recommend at all. Completely unprofessional service

It's hard for me to relate to your stay in the restaurant because you gave too little detail about the meal, which is what you ate. Your whereabouts are a mystery to me (it is very likely that you were in a restaurant garden, which is not my premises, and you were confused by the protruding umbrellas with restaurant inscriptions). Even though we have a staff problem like all restaurateurs, I'm 99% sure they weren't my employees. Regarding food, I will also disagree with you, because we serve good quality dishes. Maybe you have an invoice and you could send it to me by e-mail? Otherwise, I would ask you to withdraw this opinion that is harmful to us. We also don't have any three-part menu. The menu has been around for a long time. Best regards……

Best Place in Stare Miasto for traditional Polish meal

We had a family dinner there for my grandma’s 90th birthday. The staff was amazing and accommodating to our every need! The food was plentiful and delicious. The chicken noodle soup was great, as was the duck. We also tried the beef carpaccio “Tatar” and it was fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend!

Perfect location and great service

Had the chance to enjoy a meal at Kamienne Schodki right before Christmas and would recommend it to anyone. Placed just off Rynek Starego Miasta, Kamienne Schodki provided a charming complimentary atmosphere to the beautifully lit square. We received great service from Tomek who was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. I highly recommend the Salmon with truffle sauce and the rest of the party really enjoyed the Duck. Will look to visit again if I have the chance.

Simply fantastic ! This is definitely the place you shouldn't miss. We really appreciated any local specialities (I advice tripe soup as starter and duck - but also wild boar was massive!). The service was definitely the best we had around. It deserve a detour. All great!!

Wonderful summer evening dinner Old City Warsaw

Delicious dinner in a wonderful Old City setting. We chose to eat outdoors under lovely umbrellas surrounded by flowers, and the service and food offered by Hanna and Piotr were super! Relaxed evening, with no rushing, my husband had the Golonka and I had the Trout, both were well prepared and plentiful with vegetables and herbs. Would definitely visit again!

Very good Polish food

We were looking for a good Polish dinner but were not sure what we should order. This was no problem as the very friendly waiter made excellent suggestions with platters and dishes for sharing which fit perfectly with our wishes and our appetite. A pleasant atmosphere in addition, not crowded at all, and perfect for a nice conversation during dinner. Could not ask for anything better. On the expensive side as Polish restaurants go, but that is balanced by the excellent quality of the food.

Great restaurant in the old town

We had lunch here on a snowy day! Got a very warm welcome so we decided to have food here. We ordered the knuckle and roast duck, and of course some pierogis. The food was absolutely amazing, the crispy duck skin melted nicely on the tip of your tongue, the sourness and freshness from the berry sauce added an umami touch. My partner had the knuckle and he said it was amazing too. The food was very generously sized and they offered two shots of coffee liqueur as liquid dessert to help with digestion. Nice food and great service, definitely recommended!
