Enjoyed a nice dinner here mid-week; the baked trout was very good! Potatoes were a little disappointing/tasted warmed up. Tartar for starters was very well presented, and enjoyed. Really nice decor and an atmosphere when busy to match
I have been to Torun many times and love sampling the local food. This is a new restaurant but I will add it to my list of must visit establishments for future visits. I had goulash soup, and half a duck and it was amazing....I had a bottle of ginger bread beer which was very good also. My wife loves tartar and her tartar was the best of our visit.
Highly recommended and also much cheaper than other similar restaurants.More
Visited this restaurant on our first night as it was just round the corner from our hotel. .Warmly welcomed by Blazej., we were shown to our table drinks sorted menus studied and the chefs meat platter was chosen. Absolutely superb , we left nothing and...so returned 2 nights later to do battle with the pork shank, this time we were well served by Adam and again superb !! Our thanks to Milos, Jarek, Blazej and Adam for giving us a wonderful culinary experience! Not to be missed!!!!More
I had a very pleasant experience eating at Sznyt Na Winklu Toruń . Restaurant is perfectly located in town centre with the walking distance to old town and other bars and hotels of the city. It is a Must Visit for everyone who would like...to taste nicely cooked Polish Traditional Food . Meats are beautifully prepared and served, good portions for the price . There are also some dishes for vegetarians or salads if someone is on a diet. Great selection of drinks and desserts. All accompanied by beautiful decor throughout and a great atmosphere from a very friendly staff . I personally tried the main course with the roasted Duck and it was delicious. As a starter I had a beetroot carpaccio which was very tasty too. Highly Recommend! I visited with friends but I would imagine it would be a great place to go for a family dinner or for a romantic date with your other half .More
Really nice place with romantic atmosphere. Delicious dishes in good price. I ordered „grilowana pierś z kurczaka” (grilled chicken breast) and my fiancée ordered „konfitowane udka z kaczki” (duck legs). I tried the duck and it was the best I ate.
We will come back...here! 😉More
This is a very nice traditional Polish restaurant. I found it once I was on my recent visit to Torun and must admit me and my friends were really impressed. Stylish interiors and well-cooked meat dishes have made our visit unforgettable. My favourite dish one...was a duck breast in Gingerbread sauce - simply stunning. 5 stars overall, thank you.More
Feeling peckish at lunchtime? Looking to go somewhere different from the norm for your evening meal? Maybe you have the desire to try some traditional Polish cuisine with a modern theme? A special occasion for two possibly, or celebratory party with family and friends? Or...do just fancy a drink at the bar?
Well, look no further than recently opened Sznyt na Winklu.
What a great place to discover on your walk about the City; close to Dom Mikołaja Kopernika. It’s a not to be missed opportunity if you visit Toruń and have a chance to eat there. In fact, it’s worth going even for those who live in Toruń.
Previously rundown, the place has been given a new lease of life by its new owners, together with its new name. The atmosphere and decor are very nostalgic, but with a modern, comfortable style that feels smart yet relaxed and with a real sense of place. You can sit back, unwind, take in the ambience, and enjoy yourself with whatever drink takes your fancy whilst waiting for your meal. Talking of which, everything is freshly prepared and cooked to order for you. Our food was beautifully prepared, had superb taste combinations and delivered at all levels, serious but not pretentious. Make no mistake, this is not pub grub; it's proper food. The pace is unhurried and the portion sizes not huge, but ample. It is a case of quality over quantity. If you are extremely hungry then why not have a starter to begin with, followed by a main course, then rounded of with a delicious desert? There’s no excuse for leaving with an empty stomach. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive to our every need.
Modest wine list and a vast selection of flavoured vodka, the bar, with craft beers, is apparently becoming a locals’ favourite.
Special lunchtime menu, available until 4pm, varies daily and offers exceptional quality for the price.
Live music on popular evenings.
There is no vegetarian specific choice, but you could ask to see what the chef can conjure up for you.
Prices are average but the quality is exceptional. Overall, a great experience.More
