This restaurant definitely deserves it's high ratings. It's a lovely throwback to the interwar years with modern twists on dishes from that time with emphasis on Jewish and especially French cuisine. The background music complements the experience. The waiter was very kind and explained each course and found time to talk about the food and its history. Great value overall for a lovely evening.

We enjoyed the tasting menu thoroughly, the waiters were both knowledgeable about the dishes, ingredients and the wine pairing. The locally sourced Sturgeon was an especially tasty treat. The combination of good food, good wine and excellent service makes this a restaurant we will return to. Just to add everything was very safe, our table was disinfected beforehand, other diners were spaced out and waiters wore gloves. Impressive place which contributes to the continued renaissance of Łódź.

It took two emails to get a reply for a reservation for the 7 course meal, but in the end it worked out and even food allergies were asked about. The interior was a throw back to the roaring 20s and the meal with accompanying drinks was a trip through Polish cuisine from past to present with modern (mainly) European touches. Each dish and drink was explained well. The pairings harmonised very well together and the sommelier was most appreciative of any thoughts or critisisms. A phemonemal experience. The evening wasn't busy (Thursday evening), but we were told that they are regularily booked out on the weekends. Not cheap.

The restaurant at Stary Rynek (the Old Market) has been there for many many years but for the past two years is under new management and chef. It is situated in the arches of the pre war centre of Lodz . The restaurant has an art nouveau climate with black and white photographs showing Lodz of the past . The restaurant itself is very warm and cosy. Now to the most important considerations THE FOOD and THE SERVICE. The service is exemplary , informative attentive but not overbearing,, the lady that served us had a complete knowledge of all the ingredients of our 6 course tasting menu explaining to us that some of plates were based on traditional between the war favourites. The sommelier though quite young and self taught you could see was passionate about wine and in our opinion paired the wine and the food excellently. THE FOOD. WOW! As I mentioned we chose the tasting menu of six courses, the menu is called Carte Blanche ( basically everything is a surprise till it reaches the table )To go through all the courses would spoil the surprise for fellow restaurant goers , so will go for my standout dishes . Firstly all the dishes were immaculately plated and for my first choice I go with the crayfish soup with a crayfish tatare served with homebaked warm bread and herb butter. The second and for me the best was the lamb on marinated chantrelle with baby carrot and potato with parsnip oil, The rest I will leave the traveller to explore. I truly believe that if this restaurant was in Paris Berlin or London the sight of a Michelin star would not be far away. I believe Szymon Stach the Head Chef is in that class!

Everything from the decor itself, through waiting staff, finishing on the exquisite food is worth visiting this charming restaurant kept in a pre IIWW aesthetic. Waiters are so helpful and not at all intimidating. Although menu being quite narrow, every dish is prepared and served on a high level of quality. I highly recommend.

We had the 8 course tasting menu, I went all in with the wine pairings, which also included a vodka and a whisky. Each course was presented, explained to us and was amazing. The sommelier did a great job explaining the wines and why he would choose them. We could take them or not but I took all of them and was glad I did. It was so much food and wine and such a great experience. The prices are amazing, the chef is amazing, the service is impeccable. If in Lodz, do not think twice and go to this place.

Great location, as this is the actual/historical centre of the city. Restaurant really well connects with the history and the past. We have been amazed that you can literally walk-in and have a table for your diner date without guests around. This wouldn't be possible where we live especially with this level of food! Starters where the best part, innovative but still based on a tradition. Elevated and unpredictable combination of taste. When it comes to main course, this is more traditional side and not that surprising, little bit less experiential, but still well prepared and you will be welcome with perfectly prepared dishes. When it came to dessert, we have been already full, but it has tasted as it should with a bit of a spectacle. On top of that you will experience high level of service and relaxed atmosphere. We can highly recommend this place.

The location of the restaurant is a little surprising at first until on e realises that the owner has actually chosen well. The area is quite rundown but is obviously on the up and the architecture is quite beautiful.. One steps inside to a very Art Deco interior that is extremely comfortable and spacious. The welcome is warm and a glass of Prosecco and an amuse vouched appear to occupy your taste buds. We found the wine list interesting and settled on an Argentinian Malbec that was decanted and served at room temperature. The 2 young ladies that served us throughout the meal were exemplary and charming. Perfectly balancing attentiveness and discretion. We started with a Tartar and a Duck Pâté, both were superb and it made a pleasant change to be given enough bread along with a couple of flavoured butters. For mains we had the hip of Lamb and the Guinea Fowl. The cut of my lamb was very good, not one I believe I’ve had before. Maybe similar to shoulder. It had been well cooked. My wife very much enjoyed her Guinea Fowl and was actually surprised to find it on the menu. We both finished with a cheese cake that was light and delicious. The espresso was actually espresso and the Grappa a nice treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was hearty, tasty and tasteful throughout. Always good to find an oasis.

The food was really delicious with a modern touch on tradicional Polish dishes. The cute waitress was very attentive and eager to explain everything when needed. The interior could be a bit more modern, we found it quite old fashioned and dark. Overall, a very good experience!

From the ambiance to the music to the friendly service to the best steak tartare, delicious duck and crawfish soup, this restaurant is a must for anyone who visits Łódź and enjoys Polish food. The quality is outstanding and the prices reasonable. We cannot wait to go back.

Just WOW!! Beautifully restored building in where they thought about every single detail to give you a full experience. The furniture, music, Polish branded wine glasses and many other details just make it complete. Lukasz and Lukasz were serving us and did a great job! We had a delicious Israeli wine which paired well with our dishes. Food was authentic, rich in flavor and a little experimental. The smoked duck (smoked by the owner) and the dessert with truffle, cream and hibiscus powder were all very delicate and made the evening a real experience. Personally I think this the way how Lodz can position itself. Using its past and creating something contemporary! Bravo and we'll be back soon.

Fantastic service and perfect pairing food with wine! The seasonal menu was superb, I was thrilled that our waiter took into account to pair the wine, not just based on the food, but also due to the very hot and humid weather outside. Highly recommend!

The intimate restaurant with a cozy, old-fashioned decor. The staff is friendly, not imposing on guests but ready to help. The choice of dishes is not wide, but each item on the menu is worth trying. I have been there several times, I especially recommend the crayfish soup and beef cheeks. The desserts are on a slightly lower level than the other dishes on the menu, of which I recommend the donuts. Every time we have been to this restaurant we have left satisfied, which overall is the best recommendation.
