After a year and a half away locked-up in England, fully vaccinated my wife and I were once again able visit our apartment in Bydgoszcz and to eat at this superb restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant, the food and the service was, as it...has always been, when we have dined at this restaurant, first class. We can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.More

My favorite restaurant in Bydgoszcz. Localization, the interior decoration, menu, wine selection and staff were great. I was the k on not guest that night but all was perfect. My steak was the way it should be and the way I ordered.

My wife and have been staying at our apartment in Bydgoszcz during the past fortnight. During that time and entertaining friends we have eaten at the following restaurants: Villa Calvados, Hotel Sloneczyn Mylan, Jatki 6, Weranda and Meluzyna. We return back to our home in...England in 2 days time, and my wife and I have most carefully considered and discussed our experiences of these five restaurants in terms of, quality of food, cost, service, attention to detail, facilities etc. We both agreed the following in respect of total experience: First place Meluzyna, second place Sloneczyn Mylan, third place Villa Calvados, fourth place Weranda, fifth place Jatki 6. It was very difficult to separate first, second and third, and a meal at any of these three restaurants is an absolutely wonderful experience. Weranda came a close fourth, but we have to say Jatki 6 was a distant fifth. Although the food was excellent, we felt as though we were being processed on a conveyor belt and the object was to get us in and out in the shortest possible time. We have dined at Meluzyna and Villa Calvados on a number of previous occasions and both lived up to our expectations. This time Weranda we felt let us down in respect of slow service prior to our meal when we ordered pre-meal drinks while we waited for our guests to arrive and my wife was not over impressed with her soup first course. Sloneczyn Mlyn was a first for us and it was a revelation. We found it absolutely excellent and will return there on our next trip to Bydgoszcz in the coming months.More

Since visiting the place for the first time, we became regular customers for several reasons. At the first visit, we were pleasantly surprised at the level of service, really high class! It was so great, I was nearly sorry for not wearing a tie that...evening :) The menu is sufficient, plenty of dishes to choose from, even some local cuisine and their special dessert. The selection of wine is good, they also offer plenty of various spirits. All the food we tried so far was very good, portions are also quite sufficient. Waiters are polite and friendly, also willing to tell a local anecdote or two, also regarding the restaurant itself. If you're looking for a nice evening out, good food, a nice drop of wine and an excellent dessert to top it all off, you should definitely come to Meluzyna. Also perfect venue for a nice date, the ladies will be impressed :)More

Let's start with the positives. The food was very good and the decor pleasent. Right, now the rest: 1. Nobody offered to take our coats. We had to ask if there was somewhere to put them. 2. We went with our 3 year old son,...and had reserved a table for three people. When we arrived, they showed us to our reserved table... set for two. 3. We asked if they had anything to occupy a child and were offered colouring books and pencils... Excellent, we thought. However, we had to chase this up again after 10 minutes. When it arrived, all the coloured pencils were blunt and the colouring book already completed. 4. Drinks... We went for wine, wanting white, and were given a choice of one. A chardonnay or nothing. Not much else to choose from, so chardonnay it was. 🙁 5. Alothough the food was excellent and the portions were spot on, we were given absolutely no time between starter and main course. Seriously, NO time at all. I know what you're thinking... 'Give them a break, they were probably very busy'. However, we were the first customers of the afternoon, and had a full team of staff at our disposal. We will not be going back. There are so many great places to eat in Bydgoszcz. From Memo to Manekin, there are many places we would rather go.More

Meluzyna proved to be a good place for a lunch during a short visit to Bydgoszcz. It is located in the basement of an old villa, and the decor is well combined with the location - dark wood, stain glass, stylish lamps. The menu includes classical...dishes in quite vast choice - I ordered goose, which was soft and succulent, the sauce was on the sweet side, but luckily not too sweet. Gnocchi served with goose seemed like a heavy option for lunch, but there was no problem in exchanging them for steamed vegetables, firm and crunchy. Red cabbage with raisins was a good companion for the goose. Dessert, ice cream on hot raspberries was good, sadly, ice cream was shop bought. Espresso did not live up to expectations - not intensive, with feeble crema. Service was flawless, swift and helpful. Bill for two with a tip (we ate the same) ca.180 zł.More
