The Lion Gate restaurant in Ostrów Tumski is friendly service and delicious food. From the garden, a wonderful view of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is worth visiting.

Good afternoon, I checked your order in the system which shows that you ordered broth, pumpkin cream and a large carafe of still water (17 + 17 + 9 = 43 zlotys). Our entire team is working hard to let you eat and drink high-quality...More

We walked with friends past the restaurant and decided to stop by for a beer. As a result, the smells that were in the air forced us to order food. And we did not regret it at all. Everything was just perfect.

Two weeks ago I was with my family in this wonderful restaurant. I heard quite a lot of bad things about Wroclaw gastronomy, but this restaurant can surprise every gourmet!! Everything from the atmosphere to the kitchen and service was top level.

Located just a few steps from the cathedral on a very quiet street, the location of this restaurant is exceptional. The food is also quite good as is the service. Waiters speak English and are polite. We called to book a table on a Sat...night and we recommend that because it was fully booked for outdoor tables.More

We went to this restaurant which was included in our private tour for 4 of us with Stay Poland. We did not have high expectations as a set menu with 3 choices for Mains. We were wrong as all four of us thought it was...one of the best restaurants we have been too in Poland The Broth with dumplings for appetizers was superb. The Mains we had of Chicken and Pork were also superb as was the dessert menu. Usually I do not order Chicken but one of the best Chicken meals I have had anywhere. If very good with a limited choice, the full menu should be fantastic. The wine list was reasonable and a nice ambience instead. Easy to get to from the Centre with a 10plz Uber ride. Highly recommend and should be much higher on Trip AdvisorMore

Unique location and interior with a up-scale feeling, but reasonable prices. The pork tenderloin was an excellent choice and was all-around a superb plate. The portions are slightly smaller, but beautifully displayed.

Located in Ostrow Tumski, this place matches its surroundings with atmosphere. The food was also very, very good. Divine glazed pork and melt-in-your mouth goose leg were some of the best. However, desserts were disappointing. Especially the dumpling, which were so tough they were inedible....We were really full by this time, so it was actually good that we did not have desserts... and we still has a great time here.More

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice restaurant to visit during our stay in Wroclaw, we used TripAdvisor to look for a restaurant near our hotel, and this one was near and had great reviews. We tried to make a reservation online, but...never got a reply. When we visited in the afternoon we made a reservation at the restaurant. In the evening when we arrived for our dinner, we were promptly seated at a nice table. It was quite busy and there was a mix of couples, families with kids and groups in the restaurant. We got the menus and the waiter informed us that the Ribs and the Dumplings weren't available anymore, and when we ordered a bottle of wine, our waiter told us that he also didn't have that wine anymore. With hesitations we ordered another bottle and our food. When the food arrived I was a little disappointed with how the plates looked, on their social media they have beautiful pictures, that didn't quite match what we had in front of us, they looked good, but not great. As we tasted the food, I hate to be overly critical but the tartare was nice but was underseasoned and the goose broth, was quite bland because of the goose fat that overwhelmed all the other flavours. After our starters the main course was served within 3 minutes after clearing the plates. We had the polish steak and the beef cheeks. The steak I ordered medium, but was served rare, which I didn't mind because it was tender. The red wine and shallot sauce served with it was really good. The beef cheeks were served with sweet potato purée and peanuts, the latter I didn't understand why, as they added nothing in taste. Also the fried parsley on top was really greasy. The beef cheeks were tender but again underseasoned. All in all, I think the chef has talent and potential, but because of our(maybe too high) expectations it didn't quite live up to our expected dinner. Still the food was ok, the service was good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is also one of a kind.More
