“Pierogi” with duck filling and mushroom sauce - MARVELLOUS. I eat dumplings in every Polish restaurant. These were decidedly the best in my whole life! Rabbit was nice and so was “golonko”. Broth was ok, but a bit watery. As was the “kompot”. My daughter...got a glass of fresh apple juice, or rather half a glass, as the other half amounted to brownish foam, which a guest should probably not see at all. I cannot say anything about the dessert because we didn’t get any. We quit waiting for one piece of apple pie after 8 minutes of observing 4 waitresses (in their late teens/early twenties) who slowly strolled behind the bar and around the room, serving two other tables (more waitresses were taking care of a party in another room). When we got the bill (after coming up to the bar, as no methods of attracting their attention had worked ), the apple pie was there. When we said we hadn’t had any, the waitresses asked one another if we had got our apple pie, as if they didn’t believe us or were simply trying to escape the blame… No smile, no apology to us… and no tip for them. I suppose the girls have little motivation to work (small wages?) and may be tired around 5 p.m. on Sunday, but they certainly don’t do their best. Two people left the restaurant when we were there – the girls must not have noticed the customers, who were not as brave as to come up to the bar. All the same, I will return for the pierogi! And the restaurant does deserve a high score thanks to the food.More
