We were in Tarnow for an appointment and since it was after 17:00 and all we had to eat was breakfast this morning we looked for some place close for dinner. We started walk-in up to the old city and I saw he sign fo...the Hotel Bristol Restaurant, so we went in. There was only one other person in the restaurant so I became apprehensive. The server greeted us with a smile and was friendly. The menu was in Polish, English and German and good variety of choices. We both chose the steak. My wife had the Princess (medium rare) and I had the Boss steak (rare). The Princess steak was cooked just how my wife likes her steak. It came with a mushroom sauce. The boss steak was presented sizzling on a piece of flat stone, which looked like granite. The steak was cooked exactly how I requested it and it was delicious. We were extremely happy with the food quality and the server made the dining experience a pleasure. We cannot wait to bring our friends here.More

We got, not we ordered. They didn't suggest to correct it. What we got, was without any taste. There was no minimal effort to satisfy us. The main dish was uneatable. It was a local fish. Dessert was a shame.

Delicious soups, Polish main courses and prosecco. I went there every day for a week and steak tartare was consistently fresh and yummy. As was chickenburger, duck and fish. Lunch menu of the day changes each day and is not only delicious but great value....Thoroughly recommended. The lovely terrace at the back is a little haven of green. Pyszne jedzenie! Polecam.More

We took some friends to dinner at the Bristol and we enjoyed a really lovely meal at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent; food presentation was visually appealing, and the dinners were delicious. If you're looking for a very civilized meal in Tarnow, check...out the Bristol.More

i strongly disagree with LetterkennyHillcrest. Ive been in Bristol couple of times. Sometimes just for a drink, sometimes for something to eat but last time when I was there it was best ever. Some friend of mine invite me for a 2 days long wedding...party. It was around 120 people, most of them come from Ireland and they been delighted by everything. We had got a hotel rooms in the same place so we can say all about the prices and it wasnt expensive. Waiters been always on time, smiled, cheerful and very helpful for all of us. The food was amazing! Lots of that, it wasnt possible to eat that all. Most of Irish people drunk beer which they found cheap as well. Resuming that all its a very nice place to stay over and have a nice time in quiet, posh restaurant where the smiled waiter will not overcharge you.More

i recently paid a visit to tarnow and after a tour of the town suggested to my guide that we go for a bit of traditional polish food, it was my first full day there and as a chef was excited to try it out....she suggested that we go to the hotel bristol it was 3 stars and she wanted to impress me. on entering the hotel we passed reception unnoticed i might add and made our way to the restaurant, i should have known by the lack of customers on a busy friday lunch time that something was wrong , we were seated by a well groomed waiter at a table set for 8 people , i looked around and realised that take it or leave it this was the best we were going to get. after ordering 2 cokes and a jug of water we proceeded to order our food, my companion being female opted for a dessert rather than a dinner, i ordered the russan dumplings with mushrooms. the drinks arrived and shortly after with all splendor and pomp that a 3 star brings so did the dumplings, under the cloche to make them look good. the cloche was lifted and there they were in all there all there glory, sliced mushrooms on top and a little herbs to garnish, i started well and after the first few was concerned that my friend still hadn't gotten her food we were informed that they took it that the dessert was for me and quickly brought the apple pie out ! so everyone was good until further inspection of my dumplings revealed a quite long and black hair, now this hair was not a cast off from someone on the way past , this hair had somehow become part of the dumpling , my friend was so shocked and sorry , she had brought me here to sample the food and this was what i got, when she went to complain i said no leave it , we would simply pay the bill and leave. it was then a discovered that the jug of tap water was more expensive than the 2 cokes !! i know the polish prices are good but for tap water it's a bit over the top, all in all i was very disappointed the food was rubbish, the service was poor and they ripped of the client by charing for tap water, beware bristol you will not win customers that way ! never againMore
