We wanted to sample some genuine Polish home cooking for our first night. With it being relatively late in the day (after 9) the number of options become more limited. Based on TripAdvisor reviews we tried Chimera. The restaurant is just off the Rynek. There are two parts to it and we went downstairs to the restaurant. The restaurant is... More

Having seen good reviews on trip advisor i persuaded my friend that we should try it out. One level is a salad bar, while downstairs hides a restaurant which not only offers a specials menu for lunchtime, but an evening menu too which we tried. My pork dish was tasty and well presented and my friend,, although claiming she hates... More

My wife and I visited this lovely quirkily furnished restaurant last night and returned again tonight. Friendly staff - particularly Agnes - welcomed us with a smile and was very helpful on both occasions. On our first visit two music students from the University came along with a pianist and quietly sang some songs for about 45 mins. The songs... More

We went to Chimera after having found it on trip advisor. We went to the downstairs restaurant not the cafeteria part. Whilst the selection was not extensive, the food that came was typically Polish and very tasty, and arrived quickly. Only reason that we did not give it 5 stars is because there was not much of an atmosphere downstairs

We went here after reading TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh and delicious and easily catered to our tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate from the buffet upstairs and were so full we had no room for cake- shame because it all looked delicious.

Had evening meal here in the cellar of the Chimera Restaurant very close to the main square. I ordered the stew for starter followed by the duck for main meal. Excellent food and lots of it. The same applied to my brother and his wife. My brother and I are gluten free which was not a problem. Recommended.

I love the wide variety of choices, and that you get to select what you'd like to make a meal. I had four of their vegetarian sides, three hot and one cold. Everything was amazing. And it was only about $3.50!

Many of the reviews here are confusing the buffet restaurant with the waiter service restaurant in the cellar. I'm going to focus on the Chimera buffet because it's where the locals go most of the time and it has a quintessential flavour of Krakow only matched perhaps by the Szara Restaurant, which is one of the most expensive. It's located... More

I just love the cafeteria portion of this restaurant! You have the choice of 1, 4 or 6 portions for 5, 13 and 17 zl respectfully. First you pick out the hot food, then choose from an amazing variety of salads and then on to dessert and drinks. You are given your plate on a tray and you pay at... More

Chimera was recommended by our guide as a good restaurants for vegetarians (my wife and grand-daughter) and we were not disappointed. Upstairs they have a display in self-select hot trays, of most of their dishes, which are all delicious and competitively priced. However, go down stairs to the main restaurant and the fun begins. All the paintings and decorations were... More
