The first night we went as a couple the food was nice and we had an enjoyable evening. Went back the second night as my daughter and her partner wanted to try it, the food was cold so obviously just been sitting there and dished up as and when. My daughter and her girlfriend enjoyed it though and wanted to go back the following afternoon for some lunch . As they sat down with their menus to order a man in a white coat Went over and snatched the menus out of their hands and said “cash only “. The girls got up and politely left , it was only after they left that they thought , how did he know they didn’t have cash ? We had paid by card the previous two visits ? So why the hell did this rude little man treat two young girls (19 and 20 ) this way? I don’t usually give bad reviews but feel that this jumped up little man was bang out of order .

A large restaurant on the main square with many tables inside and inside. A good varied menu and not to expensive. Service friendly, but very chaotic. One waiter or waitress is taking your order and then another one is supposed to bring it. But there seemed to be a lot of breakdown in communication, resulting in the guest having to order many things twice.

I'd ordinarily be suspicious of a place in the heart of the touristy main square, but we enjoyed the meal here. Its got a really nice down to earth atmosphere, with live background music when we were there.
Food is also down to earth but good and good quantities. The menu seems to span Eastern Europe rather than be specific to Poland - they seem to make something of the Hungarian spices in the goulash for instance. There is also a kids menu.
The other couple of meals we had in Krakow were in fancier locations, but this was possibly our favourite.

Massacre!!! After we were asked to choose a table, we waited for over 30 minutes until someone came to take our order. Waiters and waitresses walked by dozens of times, looked at us more than once, but we were still invisible. The guests at the table next to us were served immediately, then others, and we remained invisible. The waiters stood in a circle of mutual admiration, laughing and talking, having great respect for the rooms and the staff - at one point everyone even looked at us - maybe there was some bets on how many minutes we would leave. Two waiters were cleaning the table next to us (apparently, both of them needed a bull to take 2 mugs - including the waiter with a mustache and an earring who looked at us a dozen times). After more than 30 minutes of waiting, we learned that half of the items on the menu were gone. Reading reviews from various dates, I see that this is a constant practice and the management is absolutely not working on improving the service in the place, I recommend it and even the location will not help in the face of such competition. I do not recommend this place to anyone and I will never recommend this place to anyone. AVOID A WIDE GAP!!!

Despite the varying reviews, we went to eat here. There was plenty of space on the terrace and asked if we could have a quiet drink first and then eat. No problem said the employee.
It took her a while to come and ask what we wanted to drink. After waiting a while (read: less than 5 minutes) the waitress became impatient and came several times asking in an unfriendly way if we wanted to order. I did it anyway because she insisted.
The food arrived quite quickly but unfortunately was lukewarm, you could not make eye contact with an employee because she immediately turned around, so just started eating. It tasted fine.
Too bad they don't come asking for new drinks, the glasses of all of us were empty. It also took a long time before the table was cleared. We were immediately asked if we wanted to pay, when we indicated that we wanted to have a drink this was not appreciated. The terrace was not full, otherwise we could understand that they needed the table for new guests.
It is in a nice location right in the square. Too bad the service is bad, no smile comes from it. For us the first time but also the last time.

It might seem like a typical tourist place Given also the extremely central location but, in reality, the atmosphere is very reminiscent of that of a trattoria in Italy, that is very welcoming, the food is good and the staff, as in all the Krakow clubs we have visited so far, extremely friendly and helpful. The dishes are plentiful, even if there is a bit of a line they dispose of it quickly. We stayed in the evening. Beautiful atmosphere, but the enchantment ends like this...
The dishes are really nothing special if compared to the same ones eaten in the Jewish quarter. The service is really poor so much so that they only bring you cutlery for the course you have to eat (we have soup so only the spoon) and we had to ask for napkins.
Time to pay for the worst... we go inside and they tell us that to pay you have to sit and wait... after 15 minutes, given the cold, we asked and finally we concluded...

The food was a really reasonable price and the staff members were lovely and welcoming, especially our main waitress Paulina. The service was very fast and friendly and was even given a little shot of cherry vodka with our bill. Overall a very nice place for dinner. I had the chicken schnitzel which was a very generous portion and the cheesecake for dessert.

After a terrible first experience of a very salty mushroom soup and excessively peppery pierogi, tonight I tried chicken. But even this was not much, potatoes as a side dish very peppery. Finally, the waitress with really rude manners refused my request for a separate bill from the rest of the group, saying that these are the RULES of a POLISH restaurant. Awful catering. We waited over 20-30 minutes for somebody to take our order. We ordered 3 snitzels and 1 breaded gouda, everything was roasted in burnt oil. Tasted awful.
We ordered 2 mushroom soup too and they bring out everything at the same time all the snitzel all the soups and the table was small for that, my friend have to put her snitzel above her fries because the lack of space.

First of all the Staff were all lovely (barring the smug fella by the door who was more interested in curling his moustache than doing anything else). Both the waitresses that served us were quick and offered very good customer service.
However, the food was TERRIBLE. The ‘steak’ wasn’t even steak. It was a glorified burger that for lack of a better phrase tasted like sh*t (not literal sh*t I don’t know what that tastes like but I’m sure after this experience I would be pretty close to a description) the fries were frozen (as in put of the freezer) the BBQ sauce was made in house but was burnt and inedible.
The positives to take away;
1. The beer is average.
2. The staff are Lovely (unless they have a moustache)

Staying in Krakow for a couple of days and our apartment owner suggested us this place.
Bad idea! Place was quite full, waiters looked tired and not attentive but the worse thing was the food. It arrived 10 mins after we order (quite strange if you order warm/meat courses) and it was very cold and bland..it looked and tastes like everything was pre made and warmed up the last minute before serving to short up the waiting time!

Does not cater for vegetarians. Despite what the menu says there was only one vegetarian option which, like many other dishes, was unavailable. The only thing available for me was a camerbert starter which was tasted bitter and bland at best. There were very long waits for each person's meals, so we didn't really get to eat at the same time..

Just because reviews recommend restaurants and bars off the main square doesnt mean that the ones on the square aren't excellent and good value for money. We have just spent 4 days in Krakow and ended up at Restauracja Sukiennice almost every day for either fuull meals, snacks or just a drink (which usually led to food!). It's a great place to sit outside and watch what is going on in the square. The appetisers on the menu are fantastic ,try the black pudding and/or the meat dumplings. Staff are attentive and helpful and we found it great value for money. we'd definitely go again.

Friendly & Busy place. Staff were welcoming and attentive. visited twice in two days once for lunch and drinks and once for an evening meal with drinks. First day we sat inside the atmospheric restaurant tried the lunch specials which were exceptional value for money. The service was excellent and the food had good portion sizes. You can tell its all freshly made. The evening meal we sat outside facing the square (piazza) and it was stunning weather. The restaurant was busier but service was excellent. This time we both had the Argentinian Steak fries and salad. OMG to say this steak was one of the best I have ever had in terms of flavor etc would be and understatement. Desserts were all tasty and clearly homemade. Im planning on Going back to Krakow just to visit this place again! Real Food at Real good prices sprinkled with genuine hospitality
