We were recommended to visit here by friends who had been on a previous visit. It is a very classic restaurant. The surroundings are beautiful and filled with history. Our waiter gave us a tour and explained the history and furnishings, which was a nice...touch. The staff were all quite young, very friendly and extremely efficient. They were a highlight. The food was delicious. The Guinea fowl salad starter was huge. The mushroom starter was much smaller. There isn’t a great deal of choice, but we had checked the menu before we booked. We shared the ‘mushroom’ ice cream.. it’s interesting.. We were glad we tried it but wouldn’t have it again ! The wine is ridiculously expensive. We ‘swallowed’the cost but it was at least double the price of wine in other restaurants we visited in Krakow. A few wines were also not available. The history makes it worth a visit but it is expensive and might not be for everyone.More

It was the least enjoyable meal of the three restaurants we ate in. The 'spicy' goulash soup for two was tepid and not spicy at all. My husband's duck was beautiful, but my trout was overcooked and dry. We chose our wine and then another...waiter came and said all the wine on the menu was unavailable , gave us a different wine list to choose from at triple the price.More

The view was excellent though the food (venison) was too salty and in general can be excessively expensive. their mushroom ice cream was good though it was very hard and hadn’t been given time to thaw from the sub zero freezer to be edible. Service...was good though when the bill came they highlighted they only get 10% tip included and should get 20% which I thought was poor taste for a restaurant at this price range.. felt like a bit of a scam.. So a pretty mixed bag.More

Where to start! Firstly the restaurant itself is so grand and beautiful. Secondly the food is out of this world. The speciality is venison and it is not hard to see why. I’ve never had venison melt in the mouth like this. The accompanying vegetables...and sauces set it off well. Our starters were also amazing, soup served from a teapot and mushrooms that I think may be the best I’ve ever had and I’m kind of a mushroom offciyenado 😂 the staff are attentive, our waiter Piotr was a delight. He made us feel welcome and looked after us from start to finish. Our seat overlooked the square where we could watch the horse and carriages, This restaurant is a special place, if you’re looking for something to top off your trip to Krakow this is the place to do it. If we come back to Krakow we will definitely be coming back here. Thanks WierzynekMore

Dined while visiting Krakow last month. The menu was excessive and we were very happy with our choices. Great wine list too! Would highly recommend this not so hidden (as on the Main Square) gem!

Location, location, location Limited menu ( non meat eater beware -!) Arrogant , non accommodating waiters, a non existing wine list- almost only by the $90 bottle only. This old beautifully located albeit in dire need of renovation post communist staple doesn’t offer much. You are hearded...to a non- preferred seating ( chosen at the convenience to waiters)by non accommodating male waiters who comment loudly among themselves and are completely unhelpful. Menu is mostly game or pork in heavy fake mushroom sauce , food barely warm despite theatrical “ unveiling “ of the plates. They push polish wine ( please do not make a mistake of ordering one! Poland simply doesn’t have climate to grow wine and It is uniformly awful) Order beer instead Overpriced Lukewarm with a heavy side of attitude. Never againMore

We visited for our short stay in Cracow. From the very start we felt very welcome and treated like a royalty. Superior service from the waiters. Lovely atmosphere. Very cosy and specious. Beautiful table setting with every detail being spot on. Food was absolutely outstanding!...Fresh, perfectly cooked. From tender meat to slightly crunchy veg. Small but precise menu. We dine a lot so we have a lot of comparison with other places. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Cracow. Highly recommend when in you in Poland! Big credit to the chefs and all the staff.More

This was by far the best best dining experience in all of Poland. The robust meal was full of flavor, prepared perfectly, and presented with elegance. The atmosphere is historic with spacious interiors, detailed furnishings, period art, and unmatched romance. The chef prepares specialities not...on the menu at the start and finish and perhaps throughout, seasonly. The service was attentive, accommodating, knowledgeable, and delivered with a flair for elegance and care. Do not miss this dining experience -- join 600+ years of diners!! Dress was very accommodating to a wide range of attire.More

I came back here after 36 years! Well, it was a way better and more interesting place back then, but perhaps my standards shifted since. I have to say the food that I ate was decent. I definitely liked the focus on mushrooms, and they...were quite tasty. The staff pushed the wine quite a bit and made up stories about how amazing the wine was. I tried 2 white wines, both Polish. One was totally over-priced and tasted barely mediocre, the other one was a Riesling that was touted as some kind of great wine, but it was barely drinkable (too sweet) and I returned it for a much more tasty beer (Zywiec, yes, even a Zywiec was more taste than the wine). So I guess I was bound to be disappointed, but perhaps if you have a really bad fine, please do not try to sell it as something amazing. The food deserves to be accompanied by something better and it does not feel good to be taken for an idiot.More
