Restaurant Pod Aniolami - Under the Angels" is an extraordinary place. Some people say there are indeed angels in its Gothic cellars... The Restaurant, a laureate of many 1 st awards and distinctions, invites you to original, unforgettable and unique banquets. We dined as a couple. Unfortunately one of us received the incorrect food so had to wait for the right food to be cooked. Consequently we both eat our dinner at different times. When the right meal was served it included stir fried cabbage which...was inedible as it was very, very salty. Overall the food doesn’t match up to the ambience. A man near to us also complained about his food!More

Good atmosfear, generally good food, and good service. However, the wild boar was a bit dry and the cheesecake was tasteless.

Visited here with my family. Been to Poland a few times but never tried this restaurant and from the good reviews it receives, and the whole ambiance of the place I was so looking forward to this. The atmosphere is beautiful, very traditional and the...low lighting and ambiance is really quite something, especially in the cellar areas. This is where the wow factor ended for us sadly as I felt the food was lacking slightly. Admittedly most of it was nice but quite hit and miss within our group (we all had something different). I felt it could have been better. We dined here late so I can only imagine this was why as other reviews are glowing. If you're coming here id maybe recommend to eat earlier - we booked for 9pm as we'd had a long day sightseeing out of the city, but felt that was where we went wrong. Staff were probably wanting to get home and the service slowly dropped off towards the end... food felt a bit rushed. I do hope they aren't relying on all of the good reviews and that this doesn't become a tourist trap. The setting is so so beautiful and its a shame that the food didn't quite live up to our expectations.More

Since this is a traditional Polish restaurant, we just tried the most popular Polish dishes: Meat and Mushroom Dumplings, Grilled Trout and Polish Red Borscht, plus a salad for vegetables. The dumplings tasted great and can compare with the best Chinese dumplings I’ve had. The...borscht soup is quite different from Russian or Ukrainian borscht that I’ve had before and also very flavorful. The grilled fish is the best I’ve had in a long time.More

This was an excellent restaurant. The food was delightful, with a great presentation. We ate outdoors in the front right on the street, which was magical. We also have to give big kudos to our server, Jacob/ Yackov. He was extremely professional and courteous. He...went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. In the end, his service made our dinner experience the absolutely perfect evening we were hoping it would be.More

Very poor experience. I can only give possitive points for design, tableware and one acceptable dish out of three. It is the "tourist trap" category what I explain below. It was cold in the interior. Duck was average but very expensive, cranberries seemed to be...artificial in taste (not prepared the way you could expect in a good restaurant). Borscht (beetroot soup) was also rather average - not a real taste you would like to try when you are for a weekend in Poland. The worst however was the trout. Price is given for 100g and I asked the waiter how big fish should I expect. He evaluated it on circa 300g. Unfortunately I received something around 200g (even if!) with really limited meat on it and rather with no special taste. When it came to paying I noticed on the bill precisely 3*100g trout weigh! It is hardly possible to find perfeclty 300g heavy fish. I purchase fish almost every weekend in local shop and I know how big is circa 300g trout. I spoke to the waiter but he replied that I should have told him immediately. I did not as I had not known yet what i will see on the bill! I underline again - on the bill the fish was precisely 3*100g! During his response the waiter was rather rude. As I was with my family I prefered to leave without a discusion. To sum up - it was cheating. Avoid!More

Awesome place for couples dinner. Pricy but worth it. The 5 course menu number 2 with duck or boar was perfectly done.

Delicious traditional polish food in a gorgeous restaurant with friendly staff. Honestly what more could you ask for? The food was incredible. We had the pierogi platter with 4 types that were the best we’ve eaten. The main courses were beautifully presented and full of...rich flavour. Would highly recommend!More

Krakow is one of the best places in Western Europe. Nice climate, much history and an old town within a park. So much to do and sights to see. That is also true for dining. The Pod Aniolami is definitively the place to visit. This...restaurant with 13th century history, old polish dishes and grilled meats will not let you down. We tried the Wild boar and the famous dumplings which were consumed with a delicious polish wine. Excellent! This good food was topped with a very special environment and great service from Agata. We will love to come back 😃More

Went here for dinner tonight since our son had told us it was good. For us, it was a very limited menu. We had the Oscypek grillowany, which was good. We also had the Russian pierogis, which were also good. The service was OK. Our...server wasn't really friendly, and broght the wrong soda for my wife. Prices were not bad for what you get.More
