What a place, what a service… we’ve had the best NYE party in years. The food was simply amazing, the staff were phenomenal, friendly, and professional. If you happen to be on holiday in Krakow and don’t know where to go for a nice evening...meal, go to Pod Gruszka. You won’t regret it. A massive shout out to the manager Mrs Sabina. You made it feel like home. Thank you for having us!More

A place to sink in the relaxed pace of Krakow life and relish very good quality food. I chose a veggie burger with mushrooms and a glass of wine - both delicious. They also serve traditional Polish dishes. Good and quick service. I will certainly...come back!More

We've been visting this restaurant for many years and have always loved it's food, position, and cosy feel. Make sure you venture up to this 1st floor restaurant. The bar has great views of the square.

My partner and I were looking for a restaurant to spend my birthday and this place was perfect! It said it was closed online but we thought we would try our luck and visit. We visited the afternoon before to ensure the place was open...... it was :) we asked if there was space and that we were positioned on the window seat overlooking the square which is stunning !!!!! On the day the host was more then attentive. He provided new mock-tail alternatives for me and excellent cocktails for my partner. We’re from London and the drinks were much better then our local bars! The pear salad was delicious and the main options were good but a little limited. The restaurant was very quite of which we couldn’t understand why as the decor and service was great. Maybe because of COVID? The special touches they provided was excellent ie flowers on the table and a special birthday pavlova which was delicious. Again the host made it so special I would like to thank him again !More

We were wandering the streets looking for a restaurant when we were approached by staff outside. This is common practice and we normally walk away, us British don't like being pressured you know... but on this occasion we took a look at the menu and...thought we'd give it a go. the restaurant is upstairs and you go through a corridor toget there that reminded me of a hotel. Once upstairs, our host pointed to a window seat, told us to sit, and vanished back downstairs. Their capture could do with a little work. The restaurant was quiet. A table of locals were having a drink, and a British couple also popped in for one drink, then left. I'm not sure why this was so empty when others were full, and there are very few reviews, which would have turned us away had our data been playing ball at the time. The waitress was quick and attentive, bringing the menus out and responding quickly when we were ready to order. Her English was limited (we're in Poland, not England after all!) so a bit of menu pointing was order of the day. No complaints about service, the waitress did us proud and was full of smiles. The menu is limited (as many are) but there was enough to find something worth having. I had a goose broth with noodles. The broth is poured over the noodles in front of you and doesn't have much in it, but the taste was superb. It was probably my favourite dish of the 3 day stay. For a main, I had goose again, with plum sauce, vegetables and potato wedges. The potato wedges seem half-raw, which I believe is to do with the potato itself. Unfair to mention then? possibly, but it's more about asking for an alternative to the wedges if you eat here. Because the goose itself was incredible. My wife had breaded pork, which she loved. The accompanying mashed potato again was not to her taste, but I must admit I quite enjoyed it once it was whipped over to my plate. The salad was pleasant but contains raw beetroot, which is a new one for me, clearly a local taste. Overall, I gained the impression this is a restaurant that locals would use rather than tourist trap. Their facebook reviews are all in Polish and more recent than the tripadvisor ones. I think the fairest way to sum up the meal was that we didn't feel the need to stay on for more drinks, but the dishes were worth the visit. Would I recommend the restaurant? I would; especially if you want to try Goose, because I didn't see it advertised elsewhere, but be prepared for a slightly different experience to the high street restaurants.More
