We stopped here on a food tour and sampled two different soups. Both were delicious one was a creamy soup and the other was borscht with dumplings. I planned on going back, but ran out of time.

My wife and I stayed for 1 week in the Jewish Quarter of Krakow and chose Zalewajka as the best restaurant out of all the ones that we had eaten at. The restaurant itself is very clean and well decorated and on each occasion we...were served by Renata. Renata was very friendly and helpful, was able to answer all our questions and made sure that we were looked after all the time that we were there. The food is certainly of a very high quality and is delicious and we can really recommend the Potato Pancakes with Wild Boar Goulash and the Chicken with Feta and Spinach. Next time we come back to Krakow we shall certainly be eating in Zalewajka again and would advise everyone else to do the same.More
Such an amazing place! I used to live in Kraków and out of my experience, this was the best polish restaurant in the city and one of the best I have ever tried in Poland (I have been living here since 8 years, so you...can trust me when say that I have eaten in a lot of places). We took pierogi with veal and mushrooms and pancakes with boar and everything was so delicious! Interiors were very nice but what was outstanding, together with the excellent cuisine, was the service. Wojtek, our waiter, pampered and covered us with a lot of attention and ensured that our experience was flawless. As service very often in Poland is weak, I must say he was outstanding, professional, honest and competent, a completely whole category! For sure every time I come back to Kraków I will gladly stop by for another dinner and I advice everyone to do the same, a must! Absolutely splendid!More
Great service and delicious vodka tea. The duck was very dry and did not love the dish. The soup was good. Overall it was a good.
Top notch overall experience and divine food, and on top of that an outstanding service from amazing Iga who was very welcoming from the first moment we stepped in and was super attentive and great throughout our entire lunch, highly recommend - go there!
Emailed the restaurant to book ahead, got a lovely and quick response back and upon arriving we were assigned a very knowledgable waiter. We opted for the taster menu which was 280 Zloty, this includes a bottle of local wine which was delicious. On top...of this we tried the vodka taster board which was 5 shots and was a great idea. Finished the night off with a decent shot of potato vodka. Great food, great alcohol, lovely welcoming staff and a waiter who was attentive without being pushy. If we come back to Krakow we’ll be back to try more of the menu.More
We went last night. Welcoming from the off. We ate down stairs, so if it looks full from the outside be sure to ask. We didn't book but it soon got full. We had the sharing menu, two soups, ribs, dumplings and stuffed cabbage leaves....Also a bottle of nice polish red and a desert in with the sharng menu. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. The food was all lovely but there is a lot of it! (so unless very hungry I'd suggest just selecting from the normal menu) . All delicious though. Lovely restaurant. Highly recommended.More
Never had such good potato pancakes and the wild boar stew was also very tasty. The waiter was an honest chap and very friendly too.
We stayed 1 week in Krakow and ate 4/7 lunches at Zalewajka. The food is high quality and so delicious! The staff if also very pleasant and offers great service. Do not miss the chicken stuffed with feta and spinach or the blueberry Pierogies (I...will be dreaming of them every day). Monday-Friday they offer 20% off the whole menu which is a steal.More
Very nice lunch. Good local menu. Food was really good. Plenty of local choice. Definitely worth visiting if you are walking around the Jewish district.
we found this little restaurant on walking around jewish quater staff very friendly food was very good an price low to. i think it was over looked by near by restaurant as they had more reviews an i think its a shame
Beautifully decorated restaurant on a quiet street in the heart of the old jewish district. Food was freshly cooked and tasty. Restaurant lacked atmosphere, it was as though we were an inconvenience.
This is a very good place to eat with good food and service at reasonable prices. The menu is not as expansive as some but there is enough choice although vegetarians may find it more challenging. We ate there twice and can recommend the beef...cheeks in wine, the breaded pork chop, stuffed chicken breast and trout. The restaurant closes at 10pm so allow enough time for your meal, we arrived at 930pm on our first visit and the staff were helpful in fitting us in but I wouldn't arrive any later. As we were a family of five adults we took the precaution of booking for our second visit to avoid any problems. There is space both upstairs and down in the basement so even if it looks full upstairs it would be worth checking with staff for availability. We ate in both areas and enjoyed them both. Very highly recommended.More
We went there just to enjoy a nice meal with friends, and found the place very friendly. Waiter/waitress are much more smily than average in Krakow. Food is simple and local, but quality product and fresh.
Another good restaurant with friendly staff and great food. Good choice of foods. Highly recommended.
