Was in Krakow with my wife for a few days, and having been a few times on solo trips, this was the first time we had been there together, so I was showing her around the old town. Bar on the main square can be...something of a tourist trap, so I was happy to wander the back streets, and one place we stumbled on was Ambasada Sledzia tucked away down a street or two from the main square. Great place to spend early evening on the terrace area and just watch the world go by. Also it is incredibly cheap, with a beer and a glass of wine costing just over £4. We had not planned to stay long, but ended up staying much longer than had planned too. Staff are great and its a lovely spot to just hang out in if you find yourself passing by.More
If there's one bar I tend to always drop into on any trip to Krakow I take it's Ambasada Sledzia ,a bar offering great beers and vodka's and simple bar snacks such as herring and sausage,it's always packed and always a joy to visit. I...love the look of this bar ,the interior is superb .its basically an eye catching serving bar ,bench seating and cool wall art ,a cool locals bar. We were meeting family and friends so my twin brother Stephen and I were here for a quick vodka ,we chose cherry vodka service was quick and the vodka totally delicious. A big fan of the flavoured vodka's available in Krakow ,the cherry vodka is a particular favourite of ours . We really enjoyed our vodka's in here before we moved on and as on all previous visits to here we had a great time. Ambasada Sledzia is easy to locate along Ulica Stolarska,a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday ,open from 9am till very late. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.More
Ambasada Śledzia is an excellent bar that offer's a unique concept as it offer's vodka and herring (Śledź) or sausage (Kiełbasa).A superb bar located in a period building on a street full of embassie's'the bar itself is a joy to visit and is reminiscent of...the bars in Prague with thick white washed walls which have many interesting features and lot's of good seating options even though it's only a small bar. We have visited numerous times as its very lively and the vodka shot's are superb and there are several other bars in this brilliant building. We visited this superb bar early in the evening and it was rammed and it took us a minute to get served. When we went to here we had a Soplica cherry vodka which where served iced cold and they were very cheap. This is an excellent bar in a great area and is very easy to locate from Plac.Wszystkich Świętych bus or tram stop its a few minutes walk.(This is my first review of Ambasada Słedzia). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-09.00-00.00. Hours May Differ From Above. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Plac.Wszystkich Świętych bus stop. Tram Stop. Plac.Wszystkich Świętych tram stop.More
On a short visit to Krakow we went here sat at bar mixed herrings and vodka.. great experience.. very friendly and helpful staff.. definitely worth a visit.
Went first as part of a food tour but then went back 3 times! Herring was not something we’d have at home but was really nice. Similarly for flavoured vodka shots from the freezer which I had more of in those visits than I have...had in all my life (and I’m 54!). Really nice quirky place and such good value. Would definitely recommend.More
Visited a couple of days ago. Basic decor and seating. But cheap drinks with a great selection of vodkas. Very pleasant way too spend a couple of hours.
Staff were friendly, drinks were good and very reasonably priced. tasty food. Big portions of food. Te best pirogi in Krakow! (A minus - they have one, little toilet. :) )
If you want to get drunk and have good hangover this place is amazing to cure it. Good beer and tasty, salty herring different ways. Big portions of herring, so do not order everything before you try one. Then order next.
Visited here on Sunday evening in November. Staff were friendly, drinks were good and very reasonably priced. Mainly Polish customers, which I prefer. Do try the herring. Would definitely go back.
I'm not a fan of herring and was dreading this stop on a food tour. I have to say it was the biggest, meatiest pickled herring that I've ever seen...and it really wasn't bad. I suppose that I could get used to it. This is...a cool place to go in a very cool street, right across from the American consulate in Krakow.More
This place is herring and vodka, so if you like these stop here. Big portions of herring, good selection of vodka. Located across the street from the American consulate, one block off the old town market square. Order at the bar and find a table...to sit at. English menus available.More
If you expect excellent Polish traditional meals, excellent Polish beers, urban atmosphere and environment - and all that in the hearth of the old town at great prices - this is the right place for you!
*Food: Very Good *Price: Low *Service: Bad *Creativity: Good *Decoration: Good *The Best: The pork knuckle. *The Worst: The waitresses have no idea what customer service means...
We visited this bar/restaurant each day we were in Krakow and actually found it by accident! Drinks inexpensive, good atmosphere and traditional polish food which was really great to try.
