Compared to the other milk bars we visited, this didn't feel that authentic. The price is higher than a real milk bar, and last time I read about it, this place is now owned by a British guy, which explains why there're fish&chips and Indian food on the menu. The pricing and service is between cheap-eats and mid-ranged, so it will still save you some value if you choose it over a regular restaurant.

We finally managed to get 2 seats in here at 9am on a week day. The popularity of this place just shows how good it is, both in the quality of food and also the price. The menu is in both Polish and English and the staff can speak both and are generally used to English tourists sniffing out a bargain. Card payments are accepted. The menu is varied and creative. On an afternoon they do 2 courses for something silly like £3-4. A soup and a main. We didn't try that though. The downside is because if the lack of ventilation your clothes stink of fried food and oil for quite some time but it's still definitely worth a visit.

This is a very cute, neatly organised cafe with friendly, quick service. I had the Irish breakfast which was delicious. My partner tried their poached eggs & enjoyed them but was disappointed that the yolk wasn't runny. Our friends tried the crepes- the nutella ones could not be faulted. The cafe itself is quick compact & extremely hot but the food is good value for money.

Date = 12/03/2020 approx 11.15am My partner and I just visited the milkbar cafe for breakfast, we sat down and then I proceeded to order my food. I ordered the Irish breakfast for myself and then I ordered pancakes with scrambled egg, cheese and baked beans for my partner, this wasn't an option on the menu but I specified what I wanted and the waitress repeated the order back to me. The order then arrived but it was with toast instead of pancakes. I explained I asked for pancakes and not toast, she then said she repeated the order back to me and I agreed, she said pancakes! She then started raising her voice, the whole cafe went very quiet and everyone started looking over. It was completely embarrassing, she never offered to replace the toast for pancakes for free or give us money back, instead just shrugging her shoulders and walking away. We just left the whole dish as its not what I actually ordered my partner, so why should she have to accept a dish due to bad customer service and lack of care for customers. Will not be back, very disappointed.

Came for breakfast here twice, you can see why it is popular as there is a great choice of food which is cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and served by friendly staff. The prices are low and you can see why it is always busy, although we didnt have any problems finding a table. I had the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon one day, poached eggs with spinach and red onions the next - both delicious. My husband had scrambled eggs with black pudding which he said was so good he had the same thing two days running. Highly recommended.

In Poland you will find a number of ‘milk bars’, a cafeteria which during the communist era was government subsidised in order to provide low cost food. Milkbar Tomasza offered us some traditional Polish options at great value. It was busy upon arrival and some of the meal options had sold out but we were still able to get seated relatively quickly and enjoy our meal.

Things are still pretty quiet in Kraków because the town is just awakening from the big Covid lockdown. The massive influx of tourists have not arrived yet. So this is a good time to visit those spots that are usually jam-packed in tourist time. Milkbar Tomasza usually has a line down the street from morning til late afternoon. It is a small place predicated on the idea of the old communist milkbar: order at the bar, grab a seat wherever you can, and enjoy some really great homey fresh food at budget prices. For me, with Covid not completely vanquished, it was important that the places we chose to eat as we came out of hibernation were spotlessly clean, took precautions and, ideally, had tables outdoors. The Milkbar Tomasza in the Old Town does not have an outdoor garden but it is spotlessly clean and only a few tables were inhabited. There are no tablecloths and the surfaces shine. The floors, counters, windows are all sparkling. We felt safe. The staff were friendly and happy to see us back. The food was as delicious as I remembered it. Tomasz has been experimenting with some new dishes like cold fruit soups, quiches and couscous. I tried all of those and they were scrumptious. The traditional Polish menu was still on the board. You will not be disappointed if you order the pierogis, the Spanish omelette, the kaszanka (blood sausage) with apples or the chicken livers. The Irish breakfast is the best in town. The salads are very generous, very fresh and heaped with crispy bacon or melty sheeps cheese. Delicious! There are daily specials including a variety of unique soups that are always a surprise. The soups always present a beguiling healthful description and are hard to resist. It's wonderful to enjoy this place when it is a little quiet even though we all hope that our favorite restaurateurs see a return to regular business soon.

We went for breakfast on our first morning in Krakow, on the recommendation of Marco Polo guide book to Krakow. It was a stones throw from Rynek Główny. I had the full Irish Breakfast and my partner had a Chicken, Ham and Goude panini and we both had a Pepsi. The place is small but clean. It has an please take atmosphere and service was brilliant. It is an self serve meaning you order at the counter. If you want to be waited on hand and foot this place is not for you. The food is delicious and cheap. For our meal it cost 54zł (£10.55). However, it’s a little more expensive than other Milk Bars probably due to its location...and probably due to its marketing towards tourist. Criticisms - due to the place being small it felt cramped and people were banging into each other. There is a cost of 1zł to use the toilet. To be honest I’m struggling to find any substance criticism and I’m being picky. The place is good and the food excellent.

We decided to have a late lunch here, we ordered pork in breadcrumbs with potatoes and set of salads. The meat was quite thin and dry, nearly burned on on the edges, nice potatoes and lovely salads. Price was quite steep for a "milk bar". Lovely and pleasant staff. I'd go back to try other dishes.

We visited here twice on our trip as it was great breakfast. We had an Irish breakfast, panini and nutella crepes all of which were tasty. You go up to the counter to order, all staff were wearing masks which was great and the drinks and food were brought out quickly. Would recommend for a breakfast/brunch spot

I love the milkbars in Poland ,in days gone by these were the government subsidised cafeterias relating to Polands communist past ,in reality the milkbars of Poland actually predate the Soviet occupation of the country ,nowadays they are absolutely fantastic restaurants offering great local meals at a fraction of the cost of more so called conventional restaurants ,in Krakow there are five or six milkbars ,the most famous and my personal favourite is Milkbar Tomasza ,a milkbar I've been visiting for many years . I love the look of this milkbar, interior is light and airy ,great decor and furnishings and cool wall art plus lots of seating options ,the only drawback of this milkbar is that it's very popular ,I mean proper popular from opening time till closing time ,of a morning when about to open there are queue's already forming . My twin brother were here on a late afternoon a group of backpackers were leaving as we looked into the milkbar and tables became available ,we grabbed a table ,my twin brother Stephen went up the counter and ordered our meals which were ready more or less instantly ,we opted to have Polish schnitzel, potatoes and salad and a soft drink,we settled back and tucked into our meals which were absolutely delicious , the schnitzel was huge and so tasty ,potatoes were yummy and the salad fresh and tasty ,all in all a great meal in a fantastic milkbar ,I don't want to harp on about the price but it is great value for money but the quality of the meals belies the low price ,meals are amazing and filling, proper local cuisine. We really enjoyed our meals in here before we moved on and as on all previous visits to Milkbar Tomasza we had a wonderful dining experience. Milkbar Tomasza is easy to locate along Swietego Tomasza. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday,8am till 6pm. Sunday,9am till 6pm. A great milkbar ,one I highly recommend you check out of you're in the area.

We called in after a busy day toring the area. Staff were polite & understood English. It is a small venue and when we called in at about 5pm on a Saturday there were plenty of tables free. The food is basic Polish fare but is well cooked and very tasty. For the cost and the location it was a bargain.

So, everybody says that if you go to Krakow you should go to a milkbar, which is exactly what we did. Well, all I can say was the food was very cheap and tasted nice, but that was about all I can say about it. The history behind milkbars is very intriguing but if you looking for a glimpse into the past by going here I don't think you will get whatever it is you're expecting. If you want decent and cheap food go here, but I wouldn't say it was vastly different or standalone memorable from anywhere else really.

We stayed in Krakow for a week and went to this cafe times during the week for breakfast. The place is very busy and rightly so as the staff and the food were fantastic. We had various breakfasts over the 3 days all off which were excellent. You MUST try the scrambled eggs with black pudding stack its awesome and the full Irish breakfast if you are very hungry is a great treat. A big bonus was HOT coffee, it is so disappointing when you order a coffee and it turns up luke warm as we did at other cafes during our stay but not here it arrived HOT and steaming as it should. We loved this cafe and i am sure you will too well worth searching out this place. The cost is also very reasonable we both had cooked breakfasts and coffee for around £12 all in. Try it you wont be disappointed.
