I went to Krakow with 2 of my friends. Eating out was a struggle as I am coeliac (gluten free), one friend is vegetarian and my other friend is allergic to dairy. This restaurant coped with all three dietary requirements amazingly and our waiter knew exactly what was in each dish and could advise us on the menu completely and answer any questions. It was very refreshing and professional and made our night. The restaurant itself is just off the main square in a great location and easy to get to. The interior is beautiful and the menu varied. The food was delicious and all portions were a good size. We ended up having 3 courses and drinks and the price was very reasonable we couldn't believe it. The staff spoke great English and the menu was translated for us. All the food was traditional polish and there were options for everyone. If I visit Krakow again I will definitely be returning here and I am recommending this restaurant to everyone I know who is going! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and if you have dietary requirements you will feel at ease here.

A beautiful restaurant and a delicious meal.  This restaurant was the most lovely setting we had in all of our evening meals in Krakow. The restaurant offers high end dining at UK pub prices. Starters were around £5-7, mains around £10-15. We were served by a professional waiter who explained the menu and tended to our every need. When we ordered the Prosecco, it was the nicest bottle I think I have ever tasted and we did not find the same bottle again anywhere. We looked through the main menu and also a specials menu. One of the specials starters was a tasting board of polish treats, including goose sausage, slices of dried goose (like Parma ham) pickle, goose fat, foie gras and more. When I asked the waiter if they could leave the foie gras out or swap it for something else, they gladly exchanged the foie gras for some delicious polish cheese. We also ordered the beetroot soup which came with a meat croquette. These starters were served with slices of the freshest and most delicious bread and they were wonderful. I had never tried beetroot soup before, and the flavours were lovely, but also a little strange and unusual to my British palette. The meats and treats of the polish starter selection were all amazing, perfectly presented and cooked.  For our mains we ordered the breast of Guinea fowl and the half duck with baked apple. The Guinea foul came with a potato cake infused with truffle oil and was astounding and perfectly cooked. I savoured every bite. The duck dish was not very pretty to look at as it was presented in a bit more of a messy manner and seemed to consist only of the half duck and slices of apple. It was a very big course compared to the Guinea fowl. The flavours and the texture of the duck were wonderful, and the meat was soft and tender, but we both felt that the duck needed a jus or sauce to make the meal a little more interesting. Nevertheless, it was still a lovely main course if you like a lot of meat. Full to the brim, and basking in the serene atmosphere with its perfect soft lighting and gentle background music, we chose to share the chocolate orange cheesecake for our dessert. This was huge and also well presented, however I did find the cheese a little bit dry/flaky rather than gooey, and so the little blobs of fruit gel on the sides of the plate were needed to lubricate it. This is a minor complaint in a fabulous meal, but if I am being nit-picky then I have to say that dessert was not "amazing" for this reason.  Moreover, we had a brilliant meal here. We would (and almost did) visit again during our stay, but felt that we should try other places and not stick to the same restaurants. I would definitely return in future and so should you.

This restaurant is beautiful and the food is well presented and very tasty. The potato periogis were a little tasteless compared to other places we have had them but our main dishes were all very nice and their local wine was very good. The one very disappointing thing was the service, they were not very attentive and we had to sit around and wait for waitresses to come past us.

We were initially offered a bad table close to kitchen noise and bad view while the restaurant was half empty. After asking for a better table it was provided but we were never shown the nicer room further in. We asked if we could share a soup for starters which was confirmed. The soup was then served in a loaf of bread without a second plate. We pointed out that we asked to share so they suggested that we order a second one. Eventually they provided a seperate bowl after asking twice. The duck and cow cheeks that we had as main course and the suggested local wine were ok, but nothing special. We asked for tap water and they explained that it was their policy only to serve bottled water. The staff did not greed us as we were leaving. All in all, an average restaurant which needs a service improvement. This attitude affected our dinner.

We went here on the recommendation of our hotel but were overall rather disappointed when compared to other places we ate. The food menu was limited which usually means good quality however in this case I struggled to choose something I really wanted. Opted for the Peirogi to start, which was nice followed by the beef cheeks, they were ok. My partner opted the duck which was rather dry. We ordered an over priced bottle of NZ Sauv Blanc which was not good. The interior is quite dated with linen table cloths and was rather dark. The most expensive meal of our stay but certainly not the best.

Booked here prior to visiting Poland after receiving many recommendations. I was not disappointed and can’t wait to return. I would recommend booking for the evening as people were turned away. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the wine was excellent - I really can’t fault anything. The prices are great (we found eating in the main square at food stalls was sometimes the same cost for food). Please so visit here for some excellent authentic food.

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel we were staying at and wasn’t disappointed. Our waitress was very helpful and as my wife wanted the warm goat’s cheese salad and I wanted pierogies, she arranged a half portion of the pierogi and we shared both starters. Great start for our meal!! We both had the breaded pork chop on bone which was really nice. The chop is flattened slightly, but was very moist and perfectly cooked. There are lots of little rooms in this restaurant, which adds to the ambience. Definitely a restaurant to consider if you visit Kraków

Wonderful atmosphere and decor and deceptively bigger than it looks from outside with a collection of connected smaller dining rooms and a conservatory. Booked online a couple weeks before arriving but never got an actual email confirmation. Went to the restaurant in person to double check and indeed our reservation was in the book. Warm And friendly reception and piano that we couldn’t actually hear because we were seated in a quieter part of the restaurant. Small menu with great choices. Beetroot soup and beef cheeks were exquisite. Service was very good. Dessert of local cheesecake however was dry and almost inedible. Very reasonably priced and highly recommend.

As a result of a recommendation we booked a table and received a confirmation quickly. It was a Sunday evening, but cooler than expected, so we weren't able to eat in the garden. The interior decor is intimate. We (2 persons) enjoyed smoked beef tartare and goose liver pate for entrees. For the main courses we chose the roasted beef cheeks and a fish fillet with crayfish sauce. Everything was immaculately presented and tasted good. Some could say that the atmosphere was rather stiff or conservative, but that was probably the result of the lack of customers due to Corona.

Very lovely staff and atmosphere. We arrived into Krakow earlier than excited on Friday evening and didn’t have dinner reservations. We went past this restaurant and thought it looked lovely and inviting. Luckily they could squeeze us in and we were so pleased as it was all lovely. There was a pianist on a keyboard who provided just the right level of background music. I had herring (fantastic!) and dumplings and then apple cake with cinnamon ice cream - delicious! I was introduced to a couple of polish wines with the help of the staff too. Not a large amount of vegetarian dishes but overall we were very pleased especially for the value.

Came to try some of the local delicacies and really cannot speak highly enough of the quality of our food and the service provided was very quick, attentive and helpful (a blonde girl named Ania was looking after us- she had a brilliant understanding of the menu and helped us with choosing the best bits). The beetroot soup, pickled herring, dumplings, beef cheek and breaded pork chop were fantastic, and the apple pie was out of this world. Everything came promptly and without error, Ania helped us through the beers wines and coffees where appropriate and was always available to help. Really very impressed, and no wonder the amount of 4 and 5 star reviews they have! Will be telling everyone about this gem

We were recommended this place by our Segway guide, it was right across the road from their ‘shop’. We checked out the menu and it looked good so when we got back to our hotel we asked them to book a table for us. We were shown to the outside courtyard at the rear which was very nice. I had the pickled herring, excellent and my friends had the goose liver pate and the broth, reporting that they were also very good. For mains two of us Zander with crayfish, a very nice meaty white fish with crayfish sauce which was not heavy at all I am pleased to say. I also had a side salad which had excellent vinaigrette. The other main was beef cheeks, again very good. Service was also excellent. Our waiter, Marcyn, was very knowledgeable about wines and provided us very friendly and efficient service. All round an excellent choice for our dinner.

The restaurant itself is very pleasant but we were unfortunately seated in the room with the entrance door and got blasted by cold air every time someone came in. Waitress was very nice but forgot my wine. Ordered starters, note the perogi are listed after the starters but before the main. Made the mistake of ordering the veal ones assuming they were a starter. They weren’t. They were lovely but 7 were too many. Perhaps the waitress should have pointed this out when we ordered or perhaps the restaurant should give the option of two portion sizes. The other starter of goose pâté was extremely sweet as the already rich brioche came dusted in icing sugar! Our mains were beef cheek and pork chop. The chop was just schnitzel, which was very dry and came with only sauerkraut so we had to order a side of potatoes. The beef cheek was disappointingly low on taste and not particularly tender. The accompanying barley was cooked to varying degrees of soft to gritty and the dish was only lifted by the pumpkin. All in all, it did not live up to the hype. Much better meals to be had at places content to be a little more down to earth and for less money.

We dined here on our first evening in Krakow and it set the standard for all other restaurants we visited. The Polish cuisine at Kogel Mogel is served with a modern twist, thus making it somewhat lighter, but all dishes were excellent. Ambiance is charming, service super [the sommelier deserves a pay rise] and the wine list extensive. In hindsight I wish we had eaten here every day ...

Randomly decided to come here on our first night in Krakow and did not regret the decision one bit. Service was attentive and our host recommended the local Cuvee Regis wine to try, amazing and super smooth. The croquette was delicious and a nice portion, the beetroot soup however was not to our taste. Would also recommend the beef cheeks, tender and well cooked and a good hearty portion. Would recommend to all visiting Krakow.
