We walked into Folga without booking simply because it looked great from the outside and had a really nice looking menu. It’s basically a sharing menu and it is very very good. Tempura Tiger prawns followed by garlic mushrooms, patatas bravas and medium rare duck breast were simply delicious. Also had our first Israeli red wine which was also very good. Service was excellent and staff very helpful. If you are in the Jewish quarter give it a go!

Professional service and delicious food. Definitely a place worth recommending. The prices are slightly higher than in nearby restaurants, but it is worth paying extra for such quality. The perfect place to meet friends or a romantic dinner. I will definitely come back again ;)

Folga is a distinctive place in Kazimierz and Cracow Old Town. My first thought when I got menu card and saw so many original positions was ‘I want to try it all’. Of course it was impossible but thanks to sharing concept we could taste the most of the dishes we were interested in. If you are so amazed that you are not able to choose a course, you can always count on friendly and full professional staff. You can also receive the assistance from the sommelier – just describe your favorite flavors and you will get a glass of excellent wine that fulfills your demands. The food in terms of taste, quality and presentation, I am going to describe shortly: outstanding. I should mention also about the interior – every piece of furniture, every detail is well selected giving the overall impression of modern and consistent design. The restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner and also for a meeting with group of friends. If you expect from Mediterranean restaurant more than pizza and pasta you should definitely visit this place.

I was here with my girlfriend yesterday. Started off impressed with the locale and design. Was introduced to the menu and sharing concept. Shared a steak tartar for appetizer, which was delicious. I’m afraid that’s where the good stops.
I ordered a cocktail that was recommended by our waiter, it took 45 minutes and two reminders before it was at the table. They had two courses of meat available on the main course menu. Steak and Rack of Lamb. We ordered both to share, and five minutes later we were told they were all out of lamb. No apologies, nothing. We ordered double portion of steak instead. The meat was cut into bite size portions like someone tried to kill it. The vegetables were very charred, which I personally don’t mind, but my girlfriend does mind, and found it unpleasant.
When we wanted to order dessert, we ordered the chocolate dessert and creme brulee. At first we were told after making the order that they were out of the chocolate dessert. Just after they were also out of creme brulee. At that point they had only 1/4 desserts available. We asked for the check, paid and left in disappointment.
For me it’s really absurd for a restaurant to be unable to serve 50% of their main course meat available, and also only 75% of their dessert selection. Probably serving hopes and dreams to eat today.
All this without a single apology, desire to make our stay better or compensation. The steak tartar was delicious, but that’s not enough to lift this experience from 1/5 stars.

As for the lack of dishes - we prepare everything from fresh products. When lots of guests arrive, sometimes some of them are out. We try to order them as soon as possible. We went to Folga during our citytrip in Krakow. It’s located right on Plac Nowy (the main heart of the Jewish quarter). And what a nice looking restaurant, very trendy! First of all, we’ve ordered some appetizers for during our aperitive. But we had to ask for drinks ourselves. The food was just stunning, it was great! The best beef I’ve ever had in my life. But as it is a food sharing concept, we had to ask for plates ourselves. Because normally with a food sharing restaurant, you get separate plates so you can start sharing the dishes. During our main course, we’ve asked for a good house wine (red one). Normally in Belgium they have house wines. Those are wines with a really good price and that the restaurant recommends. The waiter suggested immediately the most expensive wine of 92 zloty per glass. That’s really expensive, so I’ve ordered immediately another wine than the wine of 92 zloty. But the most nasty surprise came with the bill... The waiter immediately added 10% tip. I have no problem with giving tips, but with a service like this, 10% is too much. I’ve also got a debit card with no exchange rate fees. Normally, when you put your card in the terminal, they ask you if you want to pay in Euros or zloty. As you get a very bad exchange rate and a mark-up fee, I always choose zloty. When I got the receipt from the waiter, I saw that he immediately charged us in euros. A loss of 5 euros... I’ve also sent an e-mail to the restaurant with a copy of the receipt, but they’ve never answered this email. So to be short, very nice looking restaurant, excellent food, but terrible service.

As for the wine, our waiter tried to match it to the ordered dishes, but of course, we understand you wanted to drink just a house wine. As for the tip, the waiter adds it to the bill only at the guest's request, never without a question. About the payment - there was an issue with the payment in zlotys so that the waiter chose the payment in Euro. We apologize if you felt unwell and thank you for all the comments, we passed them on and hope that next time it will be perfect. However, if you enjoyed the food so much, we would be very grateful if you change your rating to a higher one. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and misunderstanding and hope that we will be able to welcome you again. Kind regards!

Lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere, however given this was rated number 1 in Kraków we were left a little disappointed.
It took the waitress 10 minutes to bring over a menu and at which point she asked us if we wanted to order something too start (we hadn’t had a chance to look at the menu!) or even order a drink.
We had the haloumi salad and beef steak too share. Both cooked too taste and presented well. Very expensive compared too other restaurants in Kraków with the same standard of food and setting.

I read the outstanding reviews on Folga before deciding to go there with my partner this evening. We hadn’t booked and just thought we try to get in fairly late in the evening for a meal (8ish). They kindly squeezed us in and explained the eating concept. The waitress and other hosts were very attentive throughout the evening. We both ordered and did have to wait a while for our meals, the restaurant was full and we understood that the kitchen may have been struggling to keep up a little, again this is fine and we were kept informed. Whilst we waited a couple sat next to us and were informed before ordering which dishes the restaurant had run out of, again fair enough I thought. When our food arrived the potato gratin that we had ordered alongside the fillet had been substituted for another type of potato and the waitress apologised and said that the substitute was free of charge. We continued to eat and drink and was very happy with the food served. We decided we wanted to leave to have a dessert elsewhere and asked for the bill. The waitress went to get the bill and then returned with free desserts to apologise for the wait for the food. A lovely surprise and a kind gesture. Folga provide great food but have some creases to iron out in the kitchen however management and the waiting stuff clearly understand this and are trying to work this out. Lovely evening, great food with staff eager to keep customers happy, couldn’t have asked for more.

Although we've been to Kraków many times we have never been to this restaurant. We saw the reviews and were excited to try.
The restaurant itself is very stylish and the staff very nice, but all the little things let it down.
I ordered an Expresso Martini which is quite standard to make (vodka, kahlua and FRESH expresso). They clearly made with old, cold coffee and this makes the drink bitter to the taste and with an off smell, so I sent it back.
We didn't have a starter so the waitress removed our side plates. A waitor then brought a basket of dry bread (no plates) but no butter or balsamic and oil etc - why would anyone want to chew on dry bread? We had the filet steak which was excellent but pricey at 39zl per 100g. Very small portion of vegetables.
Hubby drank Old Fashioned which at 49zl each is absolutely extortionate.
When we got the bill, they tried to charge us for the Expresso Martini which I'd sent back.
Just a disappointing evening on the whole. Just felt let down and would not choose to go again. You just expect a better all round experience in that price bracket.

We didn’t intend to add the cocktail you’ve returned to the bill, but there was a little misunderstanding – our waitress didn’t inform the manager on time, so the cocktail wasn’t removed. Thanks to your attention we were able to correct our mistake. About the bread and condiments – there is always an olive oil, pepper and salt on the table, and the waiters make sure that our guests don’t want to order any butter. Of course we understand you might have expected something different, and we take all the comments to heart. We went to the restaurant based on the reviews. We came out feeling out cheated. To begin with the menu had very limited choices of food and of beers. The worst part is that the menu doesn’t give you the final price of what you will eat. It gives you, for example, the price of 100 gr of lamb for 49 zlt. A costumer doesn’t know how many ribs of lamb is 100 gr ( roughly 1 rib), so when the waiter suggested a portion (400gr) and you accept, your bill for that plate will be quadrupled of what it says in the menu (200 zlt). A very expensive plate for what was served. This is the same for a wine glass. Usually restaurants serve 200 ml , this restaurant has 100 ml glasses of wine.
So read well and do your Math before ordering and you won’t have the bad feeling afterwards when you get your bill.

We appreciate all of our guest’s opinions and feedback, however in this particular case we want to shed some light on this situation.
We have nothing to hide from our guests and we deeply care for our customers satisfaction. Some of the prices on our menu are shown per 100 grams – especially in case of dishes that are made of irregular products, such as steaks, lamb rack and fish. Our waiter specifically informed you how big the lamb rack portion was (400g) - and you confirmed that you want to order it. A 100 ml serving of wine is a european standard and it is also clearly stated on our menu.
After the meal you asked to thank our chef for a lovely meal, and after paying the bill you gave us the worst review. We feel unfairly judged and it is simply sad for us.

I booked Folga, before our first trip to Krakow, based on the excellent Trip Advisor reviews. The meal was for my Fiance's birthday. When we arrived our coats were taken and we were asked if we had a reservation. The waiter was talking to somebody else, whilst looking for my name, so I had to point it out to him. We were seated and then had to wait before menus were brought out. The sharing concept was explained and we were then asked if we wanted a drink amd starter before we had a chance to look at the menu. I ordered a drink but my Fiance wanted time to chose. The waiter walked away and my drink was brought to the table, at which point he went to walk away only for my Fiance to have to call to ask to order a drink. When the second drink arrived we gave our order. 3 of the dishes we ordered were not available and we were asked to choose other dishes. We took the decision to politely decline and leave the restaurant, something neither of us have done before. By this time I was very tearful, as I felt it spoilt my Fiance's birthday and we had to walk back to the main square to find another restaurant. No apology was offered. We are very easy going people, so for us to take this action was very unusual.

Folga, however, is much more than just a traditional restaurant. You come here to feast with your friends and family, revel, have fun and remember all good moments, while tasting multiple and original flavors at the same time. Every appetizer, dish, or position in the menu as a matter of fact is a delight on so many levels that I found it so hard to express myself in simpler words. Each dish starts from an introduction, precedes the story on how it was created and what it was composed of. I could stay in Folga forever. I have never met a staff on such well prepared and never have I had the chef themselves coming to my table just for a chat and to make sure in person that his cooking is good enough. I can tell you, we have a few laughs together. This was an amazing catchup. Chief Maciek does not look like the chef, but in every inch he seems like a true boss in the kitchen. I was on a regoristic diet when I came to Folga, so the start of a normal eating was just perfect. I strongly advise to everyone to go to Kazimierz in Krakow and head to Folga as soon as possible. It's worth saying nothing, but going and feel like in paradise.

We had probably the best hangover lunch ever at Folga. It's not an obvious place to recover - it's a pretty luxurious restaurant after all, but it is an amazing place in every way.
So we arrived at opening hour after leaving a different place after starters. Originally we thought we'd just have an oyster each and share some tartar. And then things got out of hand when they presented their midsummer oyster tasting with wine pairing.
So that was amazing. So was the champagne we had before. And the sommelier was knowledgeable, passionate and just good company.
After that we had tartar with truffles - and without truffles for comparison, as well as burrata with truffles and rack of lamb (no truffles here). Both tartars were smooth enough to make the angels sing, and our cocktails were outstanding too.
The bartender was as excellent at his craft, as the sommelier was at hers, and he created personal cocktails for each which were all great. When my friend said he wanted something on fire - and rosemary, he got a drink with a burning rosemary twig on top, and the twig complemented the booze underneath.
It was wonderful. Everything was tasty, and the service was both entertaining and professional. Highly recommended. Also if you're not hungover.

I’ve Visited Folga at the very beginning. Everything was amazing. So why am I rating it now? Well, as one amazing person told me there: “the best restaurants are the ones that you need to comeback to, because you miss certain taste that you can get only there” and that’s Folga. I want your butter, now 💖😭 (I know it’s simple, but really, never knew that butter could be THAT tasty).

Maybe we made the wrong choice, but the tasting menu was nothing special and way too expensive for what it was.
Some of the waitresses are quite unprofessional too.
Asking if everything is ok just for the sake of doing it and then making an annoyed face saying “ok” when the customers tell you what could be improved and what was good it’s pretty miserable. If one means it, they would ask if the customers want to speak to the chef.
All over, an average experience.

This is really the only place I would come in Kraków for a romantic dinner. The location, decor and ambience are unsuppasable. However, the waiters and waitresses have absolutely no tact and are quite intimidating, when in a place like that they should be subtle and almost invisible. I thought I was just unlucky the first time with a waiter, but the second time it was the same with a waitress. Right from the beginning they engage in an unnecessary promotion of the restaurant as if you still needed to be persuaded as if they need your admiration, when they should just back off and let the food and ambience speak for itself.
