Amazing food! The Beef Wllington was extraordinary. We enjoyed our time here. The tuna carpaccio was also very delicious.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but sadly, it fell short. The appetizer was decent, but the rest of the dishes we tried lacked flavor. I'd advise skipping the desserts altogether. And considering we paid over 50€ each, the quality of the food simply...didn't justify the cost. If this is the norm, I'm baffled by the abundance of positive reviews.More

We were looking forward to visiting, not least of all with the Wellington on the menu. It all started off very well with the scallops and onion soup as our starters, both of which were excellent. The initial Amuse Bouche and breads with butter etc...were fine as well. We ordered a fairly expensive bottle of wine which will feature a little later on! The Wellingtons were a little disappointing really, the beef wasn’t as tender as others that we’ve had, which they really should be. I think they’re also trying to get too much into the thing as well…Parma ham, mushrooms and a puree under the pastry. Could easily have had less and it wouldn’t have been so mushy. After that is where it just got a little bit ragged. We asked for the last of the wine to be poured. It was in one of those really flat bottomed decanters and the waitress obviously wasn’t used to using them…cue red wine all over the table! Much apology and cleaning ensued which was fine. I felt really sorry for her actually as they are a pain to use and someone else has been pouring previously. I think what really didn’t sit comfortably with me though was the fact that no mention of recompense was offered or made…my expensive wine just fed the table and I still had to pay the full bill. Even the offer of a free coffee would have been appreciated. That sort of thing is where real customer service comes in and that was lacking. Personal opinion obviously. The overall service during the meal prior to that had been excellent so I even made a point of leaving a decent tip (I’m sure many people wouldn’t have done so) which almost makes things worse! Anyway, a shame for sure and hopefully a one-off sort of thing but we won’t be back to find out.More

we visited here as we wanted to try the beef wellington. We just ordered a main course, some starter arrived a weird prawn cracker with some orange sauce. Chef created specially. It wasn't anything that interested us. The wellington was nice, but not something we...would have again. Nice to try but thats about it. The place was ok, service was slow. We would never go there again as the menu isn't for us.More

My boyfriend and I visited Nota Resto on our first full night in Krakow, perfectly situated just off the “Royal Route.” Our first disappointment was on arrival, we were seated at the front of the restaurant which is very low key, very bright (as in...lights on like a cafe) whereas the other areas of the restaurant had a much more premium aesthetic and ambience. We ordered our food quickly as we’d been looking forward to coming here and had been talking about the individual beef wellingtons since we found the restaurant. For starters, we had the Venison Pierogi and Scallops with Leek, Potato and White Wine Sauce. I LOVED the scallops, I’d have eaten that dish 5 times over, it was perfectly balanced, well cooked and as pleasing on the eye as it was the palate. It was our first time trying pierogi and they didn’t disappoint - packed full with filling and a lovely texture and flavour. After such a strong start, we thought the Wellington was going to be the pièce de résistance and when it arrived we were thrilled. However, it quickly became apparent that the pastry that looked great from the outside was in fact quite thick and soggy on the inside with both of us leaving a lot of the pastry on the plate. The beef whilst cooked to perfection, from a flavour perspective on its own without the bordelaise sauce and beetroot lacked seasoning. The mushroom and truffle duxelle was lacking too so you barely got any of this flavour coming through. We ordered gratin potatoes as a side dish, it was very dry, very thyme forward and note for anyone ordering it, it’s a sharer not for 1 person (we made that mistake.) After having our meal, service became incredibly slow and it felt like as we were at the front more chilled part of the restaurant that we’d been forgotten about in favour of everyone else who was at the back, likely having the tasting menu. Since visiting we’ve asked ourselves whether maybe we should have had the tasting menu and considered if that would have changed our experience. If I was recommending purely on the basis of the starters I’d say 100% go again but the beef Wellington was such a let down. I strongly feel that if a beef Wellington is on your menu then it must be executed to perfection as it’s such a classic that is known for being excellent when the technical details are done correctly.More

We ate here in August 2023 and it was excellent so it felt right to revisit on our return to Kraków. The experience was a bit lack lustre. We opted for a la carte rather than the tasting menu. The amuse bouche was very, very...good along with the warm breads and flavoured butters. My starter was lamb hip- the meat was soooooo tender BUT the vegetables were terrible. The potatoes tasted reheated and the batter on the broccoli was thick and stodgy. It should have been light and crisp . The foie gras creme brûlée was nice and I had food envy. My wild boar main was again disappointing. The meat was beautiful but everything else was a little bland. My partner chose the Wellington but the pastry had a soggy bottom and almost tasted uncooked. We finished off with the apple tart tatin with bison grass ice cream. It was delicious but the ice cream didn’t even have a hint of bison grass. We left feeling very disappointed given our previous experience and felt we could have eaten better elsewhere. We will give it another try for sure but it just wasn’t our nightMore

Definitely one of the top tier restaurants in Krakow but food was just slightly off the mark. I had the scallops and foie gras starters, both outstanding, and then the Beef Wellington, which was not. I think if you are going to present one of...the classics, it need to be well prepared. For me, the Beef Wellington was a miss. Part of this is my fault: my served shared that the Beef Wellington could only be prepared medium or well done. No restaurant should ever prepare steak well done and even though I asked for "as rare as possible" medium, it arrived medium plus. Medium to well done=dry and tasteless. That was also my experience. Soggy crust and not so well flavored duxelle. As soon as I heard this explanation, I should have ordered something else. Restaurant gave fair warning, which I ignored. There were many other wonderful things on the menu. My dinner partner ordered fish which received rave reviews Simple décor, excellent serviceMore

Long time not writing reviews but inspired by that experience… Interior fantastic with tasty Xmas elements. Starters were average mine scallops, main courses as well average, Wellington was done very good but sauce acceptable. No deserts. Wine good but not for that price! Highly overpriced....Overall I do not understand the concept of the cuisine … so in the map of Kraków’s restaurants not to recommend. For the same price I can find munch better ones.More

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the food as we left after deciding it was too cold to stay. We were initially shown a table in the front dining room but it was cold so went into the back which looked more intimate but there was...a draft coming from under the glass doors. Would loved to have stayed long enough to try the food but this is not an intimate dining restaurant, no candles, no flowers, guest had coats on and didn't linger. Maybe Summer al fresco dining may be a better experience, sorry!More

Starters were great, mains - pasta - not so good. Not much taste to the sauce. Wine prohibitively expensive for seemingly ordinary bottles. Staff not very friendly not one smile all night. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Wouldn’t recommend though.
