Loved this amazing little bar. It’s like going back in time, candlelit with lots of old time memorabilia. Didn’t eat here so cannot comment on food. Worth a visit.

I visited this restaurant four years ago during a visit to Krakow. It became one of ‘those truly memorable moments’ for me. The food and atmosphere were wonderful, even the menu in the style of an old newspaper was unique. We visited many cafes and...restaurants during our stay in Krakow but this was surely the highlight. That visit has proved to be a turning point for me. Last month I had a novel published called ‘Once Upon a Time in Kazimierz’ based on the original buildings in which the restaurant is housed. It is a love story set in the 1930’s and is widely available on the internet.More
We were seated and ignored for 15 minutes while the waitress served another table before us and cleared everything around us (there were only 4 tables in use) We walked out to a much more efficient venue.
Very accommodating, found us a table with a short wait at a very busy time. Atmosphere was truly amazing - this place deserves all the plaudits it gets. Polite attentive service, fantastic food (esp. fried Peirogi) at very reasonable prices. The main reason you should...visit though is the decor and history of the place. This dinner really was one of the principal highlights of my whole 4-day trip, and I would urge everyone to view the few negative reviews with skepticism they deserve.More
Great quirky restaurant, have been here before and wanted to come back as we had a great meal last time. Had a pierogi lunch and they were delicious. Will definitely come back again.
A fabulous restaurant, atonisiher, food and staff. Visit every time I’ve been to krakow (3x). Part of 4, my girlfriend and my parents. 4 different main courses, including Jerusalem mix, cholent, Israeli salad and cymes, all superb. Highly recommend garlic soup utterly amazing. Will see...you again on next krakow tour.More
Never come here. Bad food, bad attention, DIRTY PLACE, normal price…. There are a lot of places in Krakow much better…..
Worst coffee ever, the so called freshley squezeed orange juice came out of a bottle and tasted like metal and our breakfast took half an hour to arrive. So despite the charming interiour this is the most horrible tourist trap,
The place is lovely and we enjoyed the jewish food and some kosher vodka. The only minus was there was only 1 waitress on the Sunday afternoon so she was running like a headless chicken. There is no social distancing - too many tables!
Evening dinner with my girlfriend. Wonderful dinner great atmosphere, unchanged to when we visited 4 yrs previously. Absolutely love the restaurant. Will return when I visit krakow again. Jerusalem mix and garlic soup are to die for.
A real blast from the past. Enchanting and romantic location in the heart of the Jewish district in Kazimierz, Krakow; excellent soft live music; the waitress is really welcoming and the service is impeccable; the food is amazing: typical Jewish cuisine, tasting and original. I...have loved the hummus, the dumplings with cottage cheese and the crèpe with spinaches, everything was delicious. The restaurant is also very focused on covid: tables are sanitized and anti-covid rules are respected.More
Call it Once Upon A Time in Kazimierz! This restaurant was once a series of adjoining shops and inside the dividing walls have all but gone except for a few bricks. But the restaurant tries to divide the space with artefacts from their original past....Lovely idea. It’s quite small, but welcoming and great food. We also had the joy of a bass guitar and an accordion duet which is rare, but all just added to the wonderful atmosphere.More
Normally you need to make a reservation but in post Covid times the square and the restaurant were almost empty. We had a great dinner incl dessert voor approx €22,50 pp.
We tried couple of dishes from the menu. All the meat was very well prepared. Original ingredients typical for Jewish cousine. We especially liked beef dumplings and soups (both onion and garlic). Delivery service was perfectly on time and our, a bit demanding order, was...perfectly addressed with additional consultations couple of hours before. Very nice. To the excellence there was something missing in the taste of each dish, like a final touch, unfotunately. Fried potatos were not so good. And selected dishes were a bit overpriced. But still, nice place to visit or order food from.More
My favourite from my visit to Krakow. Love the decor and the ambience. Good music and great selection of drinks. We did not eat here. Service was fine. Loved it and would recommend for drinks.
