So the food was good but the waiter / sommelier spoiled our dining experience , lacked sensitivity
We would not return ( the grey goose and grande mama same owner I think provided a .better dining exoerience )
The food here is of a very high standard Michelin star quality but not the crazy price in the Uk. The chef is talented and cares about the presentation and taste.
The highlights for me were the trout starter and the duck main. We did...not have the tasting menu.
The gentleman serving us was very professional. However he disappeared during our meal. The atmosphere is not stuffy.
We would definitely eat here again when in krakow.More
We had 7 items degustation menu with wine pairing. But the overall dining experience was disappointing. The only outstanding dish was smoked halibut, and maybe the trout was little above average as well. But in general, there was no dish I would love to have...again which is quite poor. Foie gras with sweet brioche was like reproduction of someone's bad dream. Hangover painting. Chefs combination of tastes are just not good enough, mediocre, experimental, not working, failed experiments. Food is blend, lack of seasoning. The dishes have been confused, with no clear path, no identity, no personality, lost in "try to be unique" void. The only bright point is above average design, presentation, for example lovely cherry shape of foie gras. But taste wise, it was big disappointment. It would be tortureous nightmare to visit and have to consume this menu again and again. Chefs have no talent. I am confused how this restaurant could have received Bib award. For the price range, I would rate 5/10. So not worth a visit.More
A beautifully styled restaurant in the south of the old town serving European cuisine in a classy manner. Food is quite tasty and carefully presented. Service provided by the staff was professional and attentive. The main letdown is the rather limited menu choice, steak only...goes by 1kg (you can't order for example 300g) and the generally small portion size. It's a recommendable place but with some quirks.More
Myself and my wife are in beautiful Kraków and whilst passing this establishment my wife found herself ill and in need of a restroom. We entered this Hotel via the restaurant door and where immediately intercepted by a female waitress who had been setting places...for breakfast. The time was approximately 23:40 on the night of August the 29th 2021.
I explained the situation to the waitress and she told us my wife was not allowed in to use the restroom.
We are in our 50s, well spoken, well dressed and not under the influence of alcohol.
I quit frankly was absolutely stunned by this and would like to warn others should they ever find themselves in this difficult situation, please save yourself the embarrassment of being summarily dismissed for being an inconvenience. But rather use your precious time when I’ll to find an establishment with some basic humanity.More
Small romantic restaurant located on the pedestrian street between main square and palace. We were hotel guests in the balthazar hotel whete physically restaurant is located. The restaurant is focused on fine diners rather them hotel guest therefore we had a difficult start had to...asked an other table ( they managed very nicely) and wait 15 minutes to be served. But from then it went very nicelly, as only one of us were interested in the tasting menu, we had to go with a la carte. We had tne goat cheese salat and macerated Pistrag as starter. Both very nice. Altough restaurant is regarded as polish, on the current menu only included limited polish dishes. Both of us took the potato dumpling as main, was good with nice taste. We had all 3 deserts including the cheese selection. They were also good.
After the difficult start service became excellent, our waitress made a wonderful job and served as as sommelier as well. recommended interesting wine pairing including polish wine as well ( have you heard about polish wine yet, not me ) also in case she were able to offer alternatives as well. Very nice restaurant for me between a bistro and fine dining, excellent place for a nice dinner for two or more. There are quite well separated rooms as well.More
