Beautiful underground bricked vaulted restaurant. We are both vegetarian but with a combination of soups (beetroot) and three different vegetarian starters had a pleasant meal. The menu was very limited in choice regardless of dietary requirements e.g. only two deserts. However, I always believe the...quality of food is more important than the choice. The waiter was very efficient although not overly personable. We would go again.More

We visited this restaurant after it was advertised in the hotel where we were staying. We were a family of 14 (note that 2 family members are Executive Chefs working over 30 years) There it was only one person to serve. We ordered the most...expensive filet (all well done) They brought all filets completely raw full of blood. We complained . None of us could eat it. They took them back and brought them in a few minutes later .They put them in the microwave and they couldn't even be cut with a knife . They saw that all of us didn't eat anything We left the plates as they were brought to us . When we asked for a discount because we didn't eat they didn't give us any discount at all. They have been informed anyway that we will write our review in order the people to know what they serve. The worst restaurant we have ever been to !More

A good-sized restaurant located near the edge of the Old Town by the city walls, we were seated down in the cellars which are made of arched brickwork and was very atmospheric. We opted for what was effectively a tasting menu, consisting of three starters,...two main courses and a desert, although unusually all the starters came out on one plate and both the mains on one plate, so it was still basically a three-course meal. The ryemeal soup with sausage and egg served in a bread bowl was something I’d seen elsewhere, so it was good to try it. I’ve certainly never had soup in an edible container before, although how many people do actually eat it I’m not sure, if I had done I’d have had no room left for anything else. I suppose that’s the traditional way to serve it, and at one time no doubt it would have been eaten and that would have been the whole meal, but these days it seems rather a waste if you’re not going to. That aside, the soup was very tasty, quite spicy and certainly having slices of (salami style) sausage and half a hard-boiled egg in it was unusual. The hard smoked cheese which appeared to have been breadcrumbed and deep fried served with cranberry sauce was also very tasty. Finally the dumplings with a cottage cheese and potato filling were not quite as tasty perhaps, but still decent enough nonetheless. A main course of chicken fillet in a gorgonzola sauce with baked skin-on potatoes and fried white cabbage was pretty good, although the sauce was a little bland and generic, I certainly wouldn’t have known it was gorgonzola. The other main course of honey beer baked ribs was a little unusual, the menu describing the sauce as tomato, honey and beer. The meat was nice and tender, I’m not sure it was quite to my taste! Finally, a shortbread apple pie was a nice way to round of the meal, which was well presented and very tasty, served with vanilla ice cream. Overall, I really liked it here, I thought it was a lovely restaurant and the food was on the whole pretty good and great value. The only let-down was the house white wine which was very disappointing. The house red was fine though.More

This was a great start to our visit to Krakow. Friendly welcome with a warm, mulled wine. We tried the pierogi ruskie and the polish platter with wild boar, ribs, Gorgonzola chicken and duck that came with potatoes, kraut, a side salad and fries as...well. Plenty of food for 4 people and it was just 2 of us. Great way to try a bit of everything though. (The ribs were tender but the sauce was disappointing- more like a ketchup than bbq sauce.). There was a complimentary digestif as well. Decor is very cute and old European. Server was friendly from start to finish even though he was busy. Not many places thank you for coming as you walk out but they did and we appreciated it.More

Great way to try 4 different main dishes at once with their Polish Cuisine (tasting menu choice). Wild boar, beef ribs, wrapped duck & chicken. Traditional decor. Great service. Lots of restaurants to choose from SO we went with a recommendation from our apartment’s reception....So glad we did as this was our favourite meal of our holiday.More

We went here tonight on recommendation from a couple we met whilst on a trip to Aushwitz - Birkenau My wife had the wild boar with deep fried broccoli and potatoes, I chose the ribs in a honey tomato beer braised ribs, for drinks I...had a pint of the local lager and we also had a carafe of the restaurants house red which was a lovely wine. On requesting our bill we received a complimentary shot of vodka with apple juice mmm so so fine. Don’t hesitate go there as the food was lovely and served by friendly staff. I would go back again in a heartbeat. 😋More

Because the restaurant is in a cellar, it was cool and a welcome relief from the hot temperatures outside. My party all loved their food, My duck with grits was fantastic.

I was very excited to try this place and it totally exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely wonderful, the waiter was polite and professional, the atmosphere is intimate, and they brought over a shot of “polish apple pie” to finish off the meal. Truly...a great dinner experience. I’ll definitely be dining here again on my next visit to Krakow!More

Delicious Polish cuisine with a a bit of a fancy touch. We came in late and without booking table upfront. There were free tables because there are many so we were happy. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Soft calming music was playing which allowed people...to chat. Dimmed lights and being in a cool cellar gave it a special touch. Prices are good and food is high quality. Definitely recommend this place.More

The reviews were mixed so we were somewhat apprehensive as in Krakow it is hit or miss. Galicyjska was a definite hit, with a wild boar out of this world. Excellent service and food in a nice atmosphere at reasonable prices.
