About
The Galicyjska Restaurant - for the unforgettable taste of Polish cuisine St. Pijarska 9, Krakow Within the 17th century vaults of a fine old residence located in the quiet of the famous Planty, our guests from Krakow and around the world are treated to the most delicious Polish cuisine. The Galicyjska Restaurant represents traditional "Noble" Polish cuisine, and specializes in serving game: our roast leg of wild boar is first marinated in juniper, rosemary and thyme, before being served with a delicious Żubrówka (Bison Vodka) sauce. As for fish, cod fillet in lemon sauce and mushroom risotto is particularly memorable. If a group of 4 people would like to try a wider range of Polish flavours,

Visited this lovely restaurant twice in a recent visit to Krakow having dined there on a previous visit 5 years ago. The first visit was superb. Food to die for, service superb. Couldn't fault it. Second visit, food superb but the waiter appeared to think...we were on a speed eating trip. Sat down at 7.15 pm ish and if he'd had his way we would have been out, having had starter main and dessert by 8.00pm!!!!! That said, the food is absolutely superb and well worth a visitMore

An underground, Galician restaurant serving tasty local food in an old-fashioned ambiance. I had the wild boar with potatoes and sides and as a dessert a splendid apple pie. Service provided by the staff was friendly and helpful. A shot of fruity vodka is served...for free every dinner. Recommend.More

A very authentic Polish restaurant with a very fitting menu for its surroundings. All a bit "80's" to me, but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. Big flavours, big sauces, rich food, and big wines bring back that lovely BIG meal nostalgia feeling. No messing...around here. Good food, great tastes and impeccable service. We left stuffed and happy, whats not to like. Highly recommended.More

Fantastic venue for a wedding party and dinner. We hosted a dinner celebration for our wedding at Galicyjska Restaurant. The venue was perfect - great location (close to the main square and park), romantic, beautifully decorated private room, with a separate room for dancing. The...food was delicious- we chose a set menu and tailored some food and drink for our event. The manager and staff were so very helpful and really help to make our night special. We really recommend this restaurant for an event.More

This place was recommended by our daughter at the edge of the old town it has a wonderful atmosphere in The cellar with great service and very tasty food. We tried the dumplings and then both had the very tasty wild boar in a vodka...sauce with roast potatoes and battered broccoli. Which was tender and delicious . The waiter greeted us with a glass of cider, a nice touch, a nice wine menu we chose the NZ Sauvignon blanc. We were too full for a dessert but we’re given a glass of Polish apple vodka. Lovely service and ambience highly recommend.More

We found this place by accident, and I’m glad we did. You go in and downstairs to a very cool brick-walled establishment. We ordered the roasted meat platter for two. It was huge! Could’ve fed four people. The best bit were the pork ribs. So...good. And the salad was fabulous too,as were the roast potatoes. If I went again ( we live in New Zealand) I’d just get the pork, salad, and potatoes. But it was all delicious, so compliments to the chef.More

I simply cannot praise this restaurant enough. Service excellent and the sharing platter for two could have fed the 5000. The taste was very good and unlike other restaurants the salad was a side and played second fiddle to the ribs, chicken, beef and wild boar. Accompanying...sauces well suited. So effectively a large two course meal with wine and apperatif cost £54. Amazing value for money.More

A very nice stylized restaurant, close to the Old Town in Krakow. Quiet music plays in the restaurant, which makes the atmosphere romantic, there were flowers on the table. We ordered a meat plate for 2 people. There were 3-4 types of meat, baked potatoes,...fries, and salad on the plate. Ula food is very tasty and fresh. Enjoyed it. The waiters constantly visited us. At our request, they recommended a very good wine. We really liked it. I highly recommend itMore

This is a very unique restaurant in the basement of an old building in Krakow. The basement is brick and reminds me of a rathskeller in other parts of Europe. The decor is beautiful. The food was wonderful. I had the steak which was done...to perfection. I had a white Polish wine that was very tasty. I had never had Polish wines before this trip. However, my husband and I ate at this restaurant 4 years ago when we were visited Krakow and it lived up to the expectations I had the first time.More

We choose this restaurant as we wanted somewhere special and this seemed to be the place to go and we were not disappointed. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we we're looked after by our waiter. We were given a complimentary...glass of apple cider, which was nice and refreshing. We chose to go for a starter and main, as opposed to main and dessert. I selected the Pierogi ruskie for my starter and my wife chose grilled oscypek served with cranberry sauce. These were both very tasty. For our main dish we chose Duck breaststroke in cherry vodka sauce and Salmon fillet in white wine sauce. These meals were nicely presented and very tasty. By the time we had eaten the meals we were full, with no room for dessert. This was followed by coffee and another complimentary drink. By the time we left we were full and content.More
