ASEAN has been on the Kielce market square for as long as I have lived here i.e. 2002, so customers must like it.
I have been a few times now and always get a good filling meal. This time round we ordered spring rolls (meat, 3, PLN 8) and prawn crackers (PLN 5). I went for the Peking duck (PLN 25) - good duck, veg a little bit soggy. My wife ordered the sechuan chicken (PLN 17) - very good with nice dark flavoursome sauce. The two kids ordered crunchy chicken with sweet/sour sauce - nice big portions which filled the up (PLN 16.50). We ordered the jasmine tea - 450 ml - which does two people. All meals come with rice (or noodles/chips for PLN 2 extra).
The restaurant could do with a facelift and the fishtank with some gravel and plants. But the waitresses are quick and efficient and the restaurant almost full for Sunday lunch - always a good sign. Total bill: PLN 104 + tip

Reasonable priced so called "asian cuisine" in Poland. Restaurant doesnt look stylish, but dishes quite ok. Very good chicken noodle soup. Main course typical "meat, vegetable and rice" universal asian style.

This place has really good decoration very simple but makes you feel like you are in Asia.
But the food it was good specially the soup but the main course is a bit inauthentic.
The prices are average and service was also fine.

I ordered calamari with sweet sour saus. The calamari were ok but the saus horrible. They used the cheapest saus from a bottle and it was so much that I could not finish my plate. I ate half of the plate and after that I was noxious. My boyfriend ordered meet which was ok. The dishes looked really simple, nothing special.
The waiter was really nice.

My boyfriend's family is Polish, and knowing that he and I love Asian food, they took us here as a special treat.
The menu is pretty large, and my boyfriend and I both ordered food that we were familiar with and knew we liked. When it arrived, our hearts sank. Everyone's plate was dark brown and soupy (except his dad's, who lucked out with the sweet and sour chicken). Everything was obviously and heavily seasoned with Polish flavors. It didn't taste Chinese at all. Also, it came with a side of saurkraut or shredded carrots.
I was so embarrassed because I wasn't able to even finish my meal. My boyfriend's mom told the waiter that nobody at our table enjoyed their food, and he said that he was surprised: no one has ever complained about the dishes we ordered.
The restaurant in decorated in a typical Asian restaurant way - lots of red and gold, fish tanks. I thought it looked pretty nice. It was freezing inside, though! We went in the winter, and even though we were sat next to a space heater, I was cold the whole time.
We are still searching for a good Asian restaurant in Kielce, and absolutely will not be returning to Asean.

Great location at city market, old and cheap asian-like design, poor ventilation. Foodhad nothing common with real chinese dishes, it's rather rise + sald + meat and sauce. They deliver to officres in the city and food for 12PLN has great value for money but DON"T go there wit your girlfriend!!!
