Really great food. We tried 3 different dishes and all was delicious. Looks great and tastes great too. Very nice service. Quite big menu. Really recommended. I do not live here but will come back for sure.
We had dinner at Casablanca and were lucky to secure a place on the terrace. Service was a little erratic and inattentive. Our starters were fine, my fish main (Zander filet) on the contrary very good. The white wine we had was cheap and decent.......it's interesting that many restaurants in Olsztyn seem to neglect their wine listMore
We had my wife's birthday dinner here as a family of five. The reviews were quite compelling although the photographs on TripAdvisor were not entirely complimentary.
From the outset, it was clear the staff were not very well organised and borderline careless. I walked into...the restaurant and stood amongst a group of six or so staff who studiously ignored me, making me feel entirely unwelcome. Eventually, we were shown to our table where we were left for around twenty minutes before someone came to take a drinks order. We had to ask for some bread to get us through the wait for our starters. The bread was very poor quality and came with some strange green mush which tasted like grass, very unusual. The menu was needlessly complicated on one level whilst being unsophisticated from a descriptive point of view.
Our starters were perfectly fine although three small prawns on a bed of chopped tomatoes didn't sate my appetite and so I looked forward to the arrival of our main courses.
The main course portions were very large I think this must appeal to those less interested in the quality. The salads were complicated but hearty and my wife and daughter were happy with their choices. My pork was overcooked and dry which made me regret the choice, although the accompanying vegetables were well prepared and satisfactory.
I tempered my expectations, understanding that Olsztyn isn't Warsaw (I have been coming to Olsztyn for 15 years), but I have had better meals in Olsztyn and I would say this restaurant needs to focus on improving its staff and the service they offer. The quality of the cooking could also stand some improvement.More
We ate here on a midweek evening. The location of the restaurant is beautiful, overlooking a fountain area.
It is 2 minute walk from old town square.
The food we had was amazing, especially the risotto prawn starter. However the service was the slowest i...ever experienced. That seemed to be an issue in kitchen, as waiter was apologetic.
I would recommend this restaurant, just don't be in a rush.More
We arrived in Olsztyn on a cold, snowy night in December. I was burning with fever and my joints were aching and I hadn't eaten all day. With no knowledge of the city, my wife set out on foot looking for something, anything that might...be open. She returned quite sometime later. Expecting egg rolls and fried rice, I instead wound up with homemade chicken soup , sous vide duck breast with a marvelous wild currant sauce and delightful accompaniments. I thought to myself 'I think I'm going to like it here'.
Spring came (sort of), and we returned several weeks ago with some new friends for lunch. There was a great clubby vibe, sort of reminded of 21 in NYC in the early 80's. Our waitstaff were attentive, discreet and perfectly appropriate to the setting. I had a beef tartare appetizer which was everything a tartare should be, beautifully presented and not overwhelmed by Maggi seasoning which unfortunately can tend to be the norm. The pierogi stuffed with rillettes de canard was sublime, served with a cranberry confiture glaze. Our friends both had bucatini with slices of chicken breast, capers, black olives and a fresh Pomodoro with grated Padano, both were very pleased. There are lots of interesting seating possibilities, including an outdoor patio which overlooks a lovely fountain in a park setting. Wash everything down with a Prosecco, or two, or three...an Illy cappuccino, and enjoy every minute! We'll be returning soon. A place to be savored!More
