This restaurant is in a street close to the Sopot pier. Its website notes that there is a tasting menu at ZL 170 which has to be ordered 3 days in advance . We did so two and a half days in advance, courtesy of...the reception of our hotel. We arrived and asked for a table on the side, to be told that this was 'reserved', and were shown to a small alcove. The table we had asked for was occupied roughly 45 minutes later by a party of 3 (like us) which clearly had no reservation. As it turned out, the menu consisted of 6-7 dishes of the 'a la carte', which means portions were just too big for a six-seven course meal. That in itself would not be too bad if the quality of ingredients and produce had been good to very good. That alas was not the case either. One dish with peas and egg could hardly be qualified as gastronomic, and the peas were not of good quality . There was another dish with young potatoes and anchovies garnish, with the anchovies tasting as if from a supermarket canned version. Only the meat main was fine. By the time the two desserts arrived, we were either too full or (in my case) frustrated. I pointed out to the waitress that a 'degustation menu' did not usually consist of a series of a la carte dishes and that it became simply too much - she somewhat apologetically replied that this was what the clientele expected....More
