About
We established our restaurant 2015 year out of a passion for combining flavors. We add a French twist to a modern and meticulous approach to Polish hanzeatic cuisine, leaving out the frogs and snails. Now we are small kraft producent of traditional Gdansk alcools: Goldwasser, Krambambuli, Machandel, Pomeranzen, Kurfursten. Winne Grono (Fertile Vine) seeks to revitalize classic cooking. As to our wines, we import most of them directly from the producer to provide our guests with affordable prices and the best quality of simple food.

My girlfriend and I were quickly seated and decided to have the tasting menu (8 courses), which worked out at approximately £40/100PLN and a bottle of red.
Compared to other tasting menus I’ve done in England I have to say the portion sizes were excellent, they certainly don’t hold back.
The food, which really is the main thing, was excellent. Rich interesting flavours throughout, thoroughly enjoyed by us both.
The service was also excellent with the staff being extremely friendly and helpful.
Would heartily recommend to all!

My parents and I had such a lovely time here while visiting Gdansk over the Christmas week. The food was incredible. We all had fish and can definitely recommend that. Andrew took very good care of us and helped us with recommendations on the food, drinks and also gave us some tips on Gdansk. So wonderful to meet someone with so much general knowledge. The owner came to greet us at the end of our meal and also gave us some great recommendations. We really enjoyed talking to him too. It was a very memorable experience for us and we will definitely return if we go back to Gdansk. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Winne Grono is the place where you can experience tradtional Polish cuisine nowadays full of goose dishes. The owners created the cosy place with respect for tradition what's more their hospitality is awesome. The highlight is a great variety of liqueurs made on the spot according to traditional recipes and Goldwasser is a must to try!!! I absolutely recommend this place you will enjoy it for sure!!!

We had a dinner of 4 and all of us left quite dissatisfied.
First of all, reservation. Called a night before and booked table for four for Friday night. When arrived (we were 5 minutes late) and mentioned about the reservation, girls on the floor had no clue about our booking. Its good this restaurant was almost empty and we got a table for four but it was ready for two.
Second. Atmosphere, was ... well there was no atmosphere. It did not feel like a restaurant, no music, you could hear what table next to you is talking and etc. It felt quite sad.
Third. We had meal of four and asked for 3 stakes and 1 duck leg. Stakes were ok (we had better in Gdansk for the same or even a bit cheaper) , but duck leg was tasteless, serving looked something odd.
And finally. We ordered 4 dishes. Ladies got (1 stake and 1 duck leg) plates 20 minutes earlier than males. Waitress just said sorry, we have some oven issues and can cook 2 dishes at a time...
can you believe this? Crazy :)
No discount, no complimentary drink or snack while waiting for meal.
Stakes were ok, but this place is not worth to be in top5 rating for Gdansk.

Really bad experience at Winne Grono for NYE diner. More than 300Zlt per person (around 80€) for a NYE menu : starter / main / dessert. No appetizer, no mise en bouche, no coffee or sweets were given. We could only choose between 4 bottles of wine (We asked for the wine menu, but they sayed it was not available. Never saw this !). We orders two bottles, none of them were good... And on was opened before arriving to our table. Food was not really good neither, when we told the waitress, her response was "it's not my fault"... No explanation, excuses or anything. Service was mediocre too. I hate to write bad reviews, but this diner was a real rip-off. I never paid this price for such a bad diner. You can easily find way better restaurants in town !

The food is stunning. Absolutely incredible French food additionally confirmed by my French husband as a great quality food bearing all qualities of what would be passed as genuine great french cuisine. The staff was incredible, we were offered a personal tour of the historic building including the details of the origins of a liquor production which is still made in the restaurant till this day. Couldn't recommend this place enough

This is a wonderful restaurant located near Old Town Gdansk. A bit out of the way to find, but search for it...it is a must dining location.
I began my meal with a bowl of hot white borscht. With the rich broth, sliced carrots, white sausage and bacon, everything worked together for a wonderful soup.
My main meal was pierogi filled with meat, bacon and onion. They were large and tasty and I could only eat half of what was served.
For dessert I enjoyed a hot molten chocolate lava cake served with ice cream. The cake was still warm from the oven.
Meals are made from scratch, so do not expect your meal in 5 minutes. The chef came out and introduced himself to me and offered a shot of his homemade liquor. Warmed me right up.
To close the meal, I had a shot of Goldwasser. This is the perfect way to end a meal.
The server, Susanne, was attentive, quick and made the experience more pleasurable.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
It's not a shorts and tee shirt restaurant. Nice street clothes are appropriate.

Last week we celebrated with wife our first anniversary here. It was a good choice. We felt as a part of a family rather than clients. I recommend tasting menu, which showed wide skills of fine dining style of service.

Everything complimentary that has been said I endorse. The restaurant is in a beautiful building steeped in history. If not too busy, the chef/owner is very happy to come out and tell you about it. Don't distract him from cooking too much as he is fantastic. The waitress recommended the visit journeyman and it was out of this world.
They have just opened a bistro downstairs which we tried on its first day. Menu only in Polish but the waitress made a good stab at translating. Much simpler menu but cooked with same care. Try both.

I wished to try a goose and I got a goose. Very interesting place run by a food enthusiast. Some people could say it is not as glamour as prices would suggest but you definitely get a meal made of quality ingredients. The owner knows his food and likes to share his knowledge. You may also learn something about the origins of served drinks or meals. I will definitely be back if visiting Gdansk next time.

Outstanding restaurant - every dish surprising, unique and delicious. Owners outgoing and supportive in making sure your experience is wonderful. Staff ready to explain all aspects of your choice. Did I mention the dishes go way beyond being the best outcome of menu description? Definetly worth to taste the whole menu - even the dishes that go outside your regular boundaries. Taste and enjoy the wonderful interior of new location. Summary: Master piece in every aspect.

One of best restaurants on my map in Gdansk. It is kept by food passionates. Don't hesitate to ask owner about each meal and drink he knows exactly source of ingredients and history of every meal they prepare. Don't forget about their own made liquors! Location may be misleading but it is worth to take taxi it's 5 minutes away from old Town. You will find seasonal food, it's heaven for meat lovers, menu changes on basis what is available so everything is fresh and best you can get from farmers.

The no. 1 place to visit in Gdansk if you are looking for an gourmet experience from top shelf! Go for the Tasting Menu along with the Wine Pairing and you will be very full (and more than tipsy!). I great French/Polish experience. Wines were all French though.
The super friendly owner (missed his name) was kind to share knowledge of the city area, the building (Laks House (salmon)), the family that use to live there and produce liquor from the rooms.
More expensive than many other restaurants - but definitely worth every Sloty (Polish currency)

This is THE place you want to go if you like real authentic Polish food, with the touch of the Franch cuisine. Unfortunately for the restaurant, we were the only guests late that evening, but luckily for us! We are two foodies, and this is definitely top 3 of the best restaurant we've been to. Not only the food, but the service. We had the pleasure of being served by the manager, and since It was our anniversary he made this a very special night. We asked for a tasting menu, they didn't have it, but made one, this was the perk of being alone in the restaurant! Everything was delicious, and the manager even showed us several types of liquor he had made himself, also delicious! One and a half hour after closing time we rolled out of this amazing place. I would recommend everyone to eat here. Thanks for making this a night to remember. Will be back, for sure, next time visiting Gdańsk.

For past week we've been looking for a place where we could celebrate 20th anniversary of our wedding. After checking and tasting we chose Winne Grono which we visited several times in the past. And it was the best choice we could make! Everything starting from soup, starters through main course to the dessert was just phenomenal. This is mixture of French cuisine combined with local products and accents. The prices are fair (average for Gdansk, low as for West Europe), portions are mid sized and we were leaving with strong resolve to come back here as soon as possible:) Good job guys! See you next time
