Zafishowani is a fish & seafood restaurant overlooking the Motława River, located in the center of the historic Gdańsk. We serve fresh fish and seafood all year round, in non-obvious combinations with seasonal vegetables and local additives. The menu includes Baltic classics and genres from all over the world. On all days of the week, we invite you to one of the three cozy dining rooms. Additionally, in summer, we encourage you to use the open patio, and in winter - to the fireplace room.

I can recommend this restaurant sincerely. Nice cuisine & perfect service - most likely the best I've ever experienced. Fish dishes are almost perfect, too hard to describe - you need to check it personally!

My kids (aged 21-25) rated this as the best restaurant they have ever visited. I agree that it was very good.
Very attentive, personal service.
Amazing but brief menu. Recommend the Gravalax starter and the Halibut main course. Both were beautifully presented, amazing flavours and a great experience. The flambeed prawns were well rated by our party of 9 as were the beef cheeks. Great wine. Prices high for Gdansk but reasonable for us Brits.

The best fish restaurant in Gdansk, with a wonderful scenery on the river when it's warm outside or a cosy decor inside. Beautifully presented plates with top-quality seafood paired with the best herbs and vegetables, rich in flavor. Enjoyed the experience from start to finish, thanks to the staff !

What a terrible experience. We ordered two fish soups, two fish mains and one goat cheese cheesecake dessert. They were tasteless all of them. The soups were lacking flavor, decent but not worth the price. The main was disgusting. The fish didn’t even meet the salt, needed a lot of it. The caramelized cabbage was just a cabbage with tomatoes, and normal potatoes. Dessert was bad also. Cheesecake tasted goat, had really bad flavor. Beetroot ice cream that came with it were ok, but nothing more. Very pricy, one doesn’t get any value for one’s money. Staff does not care about you.
Shortly: expensive, bad food and no service.

Quite disappointed with the variety of fish available , no seafood on the menu and a few fish dishes were served with simple mash or potatoes. Paying over 70zl to receive a small piece of fish with one carrot cut into pieces and mash, that’s called disappointment. Maybe it was better to get 2 starters instead of 1 main , but anyway we personally are not coming back. Expensive doesn’t not always mean special. They do not have veg side dishes in the menu and did not provide any bread / butter / oil for the table when waiting for food.

We chose this restaurant because it was so highly recommended here. I don’t know if it was just a bad day in the kitchen but we were not pleased. There was nothing wrong about the service. Our waiter was really nice and polite. The problem was in the kitchen. We ordered starters and only when my husband’s onion soup arrived I was told that kitchen could not prepare my starter. Maybe something went wrong I don’t know. My husband’s onion soup was really good though. A new starter was recommended for me and I chose it: scallops. But they were tasteless and the butternut purée with it was like baby food with no salt or spices. We were also wondering why highly recommended seafood restaurant has so little fish from the Baltic Sea. Many of the fish types on the menu don’t swim in the local water. For sides we ordered horseradish mashed potatoes and fries. Mash tasted like it was made yesterday and unfortunately they sell better fries at McDonald’s. Restaurant is rather pricey so it made us even more disappointed. We don’t have money to eat at places like this every evening on our holiday.

We booked this restaurant for a special meal, the reviews looked great. When we arrived it was not very busy at all but got sat in the charmless back room next to the kids play area . The front room is lovely but the back room does not look like pictures on the internet more like the old Baltic ferries. Anyways, the waiter was really nice but the food was bland, and didn’t have any taste at all. The halibut arrived without any of the condiments/sides mentioned on the menus. It just had the fish, unseasoned and some peas hoots, as garnish. No grilloles, caramelised silver onions and planchetta. It also took 1hr 45 minutes before we got served (we had oysters for starters which needs no cooking) I think they may have forgotten about us in the back room & maybe the ingredient ran out at end of the night. It’s a shame as the people in the front of the restaurant may have had a better experience

My husband and I stayed at the Hanza Hotel for 8 nights and we ate at Zafishowani 4 nights out of the 8; it is THAT good! The salmon is the best I’ve had that I can remember. My husband really enjoyed the sea bass and fish and chips. The horseradish mashed potatoes are a great option for a side dish to share as it is too large for one person. The scallops are a god options for an appetizer.
The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve experienced. We travel enough both internationally and throughout the United States are this buffet is def in our top 3.
The staff were fabulous - very kind and knowledgeable. Lucas and Julia are the two names we can remember but every single staff member we interacted with were a delight.
We highly recommend this restaurant!

I stay at Hanza hotel always when possible and go downstairs to the restaurant which is not typical hotel restaurant you can meet at hotels… This makes difference for sure !
I came at least once in quarter, always treated like special guest with excellent staff/weiters ( I wouldn’t use this word as they have knowledge of all what they serve and are so warm) very careful and nice.
I’ve tried many dishes from theirs newest card and can say that this is the best restaurant here. Fish is my number one and all I truly recomment… Starters are also fantastic choice if you don’t like deserts:)

Great place for dinner and chilling, also because of wonderful view. We recommend modern fish and chips, which is served in the summer from monday to friday.
Very polite service and nice culinary experience.

The taste of the dishes were without flavor. Fish was baked without spices with veggies which didn’t fit to together. Waiters were running around but service should not be automatically included (…)

Unusually we decided to eat at the hotel instead of going out on the town this evening. The menu appealed to us so we went inside. Our waiter Robert met us with a smile and we explained my wife's quite extensive allergies. We showed him a list and Robert disappeared into the kitchen with it. After a while he came back with all the knowledge of what dishes the kitchen could adapt so my wife could eat them, very good commitment.
I took a smoked steak as a starter oh boy, I don’t usually photograph my food but this was an exception, so beautiful.
When the first bite reached the mouth the angels started singing, believe me I have eaten raw beef in many countries but this is the best I have experienced.
For main course I had mussels and my wife had a salmon with potato puree, parmesan and trout roe, all just delicious. Robert recommended a Polish wine that we ordered a bottle of. What a hit it danced in the mouth, so good that we bought two bottles with us home from the hotel shop. Greatest praise to Robert who made our evening a memory. Thanks.

Excellent food and service! There are many fine restaurants in Gdansk, however after trying several we always found ourselves back at Zafishowani. The trout, mussels and clam dish and king prawns are fresh and prepared exceptionally! Hats off to Christopher, our waiter. Well done!!

This was an amazing experience and would recommend this restaurant to any fish or seafood lover in Gdańsk. The ambience was lovely and although it was dark outside (time of year) I can imagine the views towards the river and a bit of people watching during dinner would be enjoyable. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten. Particular standouts were the starters of the scallops with caviar and I had one of the 'bowls' which was a huge pot of mussels and clams. Mains were also stunning. We didn't have room for a dessert. Staff were knowledgeable, attentive and helpful without being intrusive. This was a dinner I will remember for a very long time.

Absolutely amazing experience!
We were greeted by very friendly staff, who were very attentive and professional throughout the evening, which made the experience extra good.
The food was absolutely fantastic, and in each serving we got exciting and perfectly matched flavours that made it all a very special experience.
A thousand thanks for the experience, and we hope to be able to visit beautiful Gdańsk and your lovely establishment again soon, and we give the restaurant and staff our warmest recommendations.
