A grate place for all food lovers who want to try national meals at acceptable price. The staff were very friendly. The ribs and the soup were fantastic. Will sure visit again.

The restaurant is hidden on the outskirts of Ostrava centre but well within walking range from the main square (15 minutes walk). Cuisine is traditional and portions are substantial but notbat the expense of taste.
The restaurant is a bit hidden but close to the ZOO. We stopped by for lunch and had beef consomme and soup of the day: tomato with parmesane = all was delicious. My husband chose risotto with shrimps and I had sweetbread (the thymus of...a calf) - for the first time in my life ;-) with mashed celery = very nice again. The menu is not very numerous and rather expensive (for Ostrava and CZ) but it was worth it and if you want to treat yourself with something you do not normally cook at home - Stara kuzelna is your place to eat!More
Good choice for lunch, dinner even for occasion as the birthday celebration with the family etc. There's a piano inside, staff is nice and helpfull. Place is little bit hidden aside city centre.
Definitly one of the best places for eating in Ostrava, small seasonal menu where you cant make a mistake...every time I ate here was just delicious
I visited with my family and we had a great time. Staff was nice and food delicious. We especially enjoyed the desserts.
The place doesn't look so nice at first glance, but the food is really worth the trip! Their famous ossobucco is delicious, but the other meals as well.
Osobucco is the meal to try - but I am always happy with other choices, too. My favourite place in Ostrava. Prices are still ok for the quality.
A mix of average food, in a normal place (nothing special with decoration or place - ie: do not expect any "kuzelna" despite the name), and average personel, some quite kind, some not at all.
My sister celebrated her birhtday in this restaurant last month. There were 14 of us including 5 children from the age of 3-12. Because we wanted everyone to choose their meal, we arranged with the staff that we would send them a list of meals...- which was probably a goog idea - everyone ate at the same time. The carrot soup was delicious as well as the other dishes. The waitresses were pleasant (above average for Ostrava) and we had a wonderful afternoon. I can only recommend this place although the prices are above average as well.More
This restaurant is one of the best in our city and it offers a variety of dishes so everyone should be able to choose one that will suit their taste. I go there quite often with my family as well as with friends and I...have never been put off. It has many parking places, a space for kids to play (so parents can enjoy their lunch piecefully) - warm months only though. Their menu changes every now and then, but they still keep the good old dishes (schnitzel, ribs, etc.). Their wine selection is also a qaulity one and they serve a good draught beer too. Of course there are times when the restaurant gets really busy and you gotta wait a little, but I never had a real reason to complain about anything. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to eat well and have a good time.More
This restaurant is beloved by many people, however i don´t think it deserved the glory. Yes it´s above (ostrava) standard, the saff is above (czech) interested, but i´m missing the point here to be the top 5. Perhaps i´m strange. Give it anyway try for...lunch, or hanging around river looking for snack&beer with friends or family.More
When this restaurant got open it was like a miracle in Ostrava, excellent food, good beer and wine, reasonable prices. It used to be our favourite in the city, we loved their lamb knee, ossobuco and Greek cake. However, people started coming and they slowly...got worse. We experienced our beloved dishes to be too greasy to be really enjoyed and once I had a birthday celebration there which was a great disappointment, as the place was full and we had to wait for every single item for ages. For some time we even stopped going there, so disenchanted we were with them. Then I gave it a chance again after cca a year and it was a good experience again but when we came there last time, I ordered some steak (not cheap, as you can imagine) and it was tough. It seems to be hit and miss, which I obviously don’t like, the quality should be the same, or they might lose their clients forever.More
Although restaurant is little aside from center, it is worth the visit. Waitres is kind, beer is tasty and food is just perfect. We were sitting in the garden, which is surrounded by trees so its very quiet. If you are looking for great food...this the place. I will visit this place for sure.More
I have visited Stara Kuzelna restaurant several times and the meal is always wonderful. I really like the idea of menu whitch changes from time to time and special offers especially any fish.
