This is a place where you go to celebrate whatever you want to celebrate. And maybe to combine it with some good wine. I went to this restaurant with my friend to celebrate her birthday. The place is really fancy, but the prices correspond with...what you get for your money. We went for tasting menu and I strongly recommend to go for the same, especially if you are planning to or if you are at least ok with staying out for few hours. All the meals were amazingly tasty and nicely served. I remember one course from the tasting menu that I liked a lot. Unfortunately, I don't remember its name or what exactly was it, but later I heard that this is "a punk course" of the tasting menu. What I liked was that the last course of the tasting menu was served to us directly by the cook preparing all the meals. He got to our table to serve the meal and to get some feedback from us. That was unexpected and at the same time nice. I think it's important to get the first hand feedback and in this case it seems that the restaurant cares about that and its employees make the effort. I strongly recommend to enjoy this restaurant for some special occasion and to try the tasting menu, as it seems to me that this just works here.More

We stumbled on this restaurant by chance a few years ago during our first visit to Brno and the Czech Republic. Since then, any repeated trip the Czech Republic cannot be without a visit to a Kohout Restaurant. The food is to die for, the...service is attentive, friendly, yet professional, and the wine selection is outstanding. The chef is able to accommodate vegan preferences. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.More

I went with a group of 6 people to Kohout to try their tasting menu after a recommendation from a Brno resident. I have to say the whole experience was outstanding. Our waiter, Lucas, took care of everything . We went for the option of...pairing the meal with local wines and each bottle was of exceptionally high quality, starting with a local sparkling wine that was excellent. The eight ( or was it 9 courses ) were each beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Fois gras, Scallops, duck, all with beautifully arranged accompaniments kept us all totally engaged. In my opinion its well worth splashing out for this unique experience. I congratulate the chef and waiters on an excellent gourmande experience.More

My sister and I were returning to our hometown and based upon a recommendation of my foodie friends, we organized a get-together for about 20 people at Kohout na víně. All I can say is that everyone loved the food - kinda smaller dishes coming...throughout the evening, each awesome, the service was impeccable, and we also enjoyed the owner's selection of wines. Perfect in my book!More

My husband and myself ate here in November 2018 after a night at the Janacek Opera which is just beside this restaurant. We had an excellent meal with a sophisticated blend of tastes and colours, pleasing to the eye as well as to taste. We...plan to return here on our next visit to BrnoMore

I come from Italy and my auntie took me to this amazing restaurant, the staff is very kind and professional and the food was really good, made with fantasy and creativity. The restaurant s style was simple and clean with very comfortable chairs. It was...a great lunch in the city center.More

Sorry but what a disaster. The waiter don’t have time to bring a good service on the table. After 20.30 there is no menu available but only an expensive al la carte menu. A price list of the wine is not available.

Unfortunately this is not the evening we had in mind. The waiter came across as too popular on arrival. We expected more cachet for a wine bar / haite cuisine restaurant. Smoking on the terrace is not allowed: this was known. However, when smoking outside...the terrace zone we were approached by the waiter. On the terrace there were 2 (two!) people! Bit exaggerated. Too bad, missed opportunity!More

The restaurant Kouhout na víně is just a perfect venue for a date, a family dinner or a lunch. It provides enough privacy thanks to a relatively small size (cca 10 tables), food is simply perfect, waiters know exactly what they are doing - recommendations...and presentation were great. The overall quality is high and the price for it is reasonable. In summary, this restaurant made a very pleasant surprise for me in Brno.More

Kohout na vine (Coq au vin) is one of those smaller, stylish restaurants where you go for fine dining and touch of exclusivity. Kohout is trying in both, but underachieving by literally doing too much in all directions. What really caught my attention were the...details: “picklovana zelenina” (I just cannot translate that to Czech). The meals are great, but they are complex, not sophisticated if you know what I mean. Our visit there was great, but could have been so much better. I will come back, as it is one of the better places in Brno, but just not any time soon. On the other hand, I have to say that the service was great and very professional and the wine was great too.More

My friend and me spent this Saturday in Brno art galleries and then spoilt with all the beauty we wanted to enjoy even more artefacts. Delights prepared in the Kohout na vine had many forms and we were really enchanted and fascinated. Every customer recognizes...immediately that this art wine restaurant focuses on top quality ingredients, creativity of the team deserves to be admired, not only documented. Wine lovers will be happy to taste many pleasures bottled and served with love in this place.More

Really good experience. Modern place with good selection of wines and professional staff. I got an impression that I have a personal waiter that wants to make me happy about my selections. I had lamb with some pasta as side dish for my lunch and...dry red wine that was recommended to me by waiter. I also got bread with linseed oil as a starter and I ate it a whole time that I stayed at this restaurant. Menu of this restaurant is very short, but I think that they put so more effort into preparation of your meal than other restaurants. Prepare for higher prices, but also prepare for a quality that meets those prices. This is a kind of restaurant that I would go with my family or significant one to have a meal for special occasion.More

This modern, innovative cafe would be right at home in New York City. Our small size tour group went for lunch and were swept away by delicious food and an excellent wine pairing. Let me tantalize you with the menu: two amuse bouche of a...tiny mushroom croquette, then pumpkin soup drizzled with pumpkin oil; pork foie gras; sous vide pork on sweet potato purée with amaretto sauce; and finally a plum tarte tatin topped with cinnamon ice cream. Service was impeccable. Chef Jiri Zajicek and manager Adam Vanerka have put together an outstanding restaurant. Our well-traveled group of Americans loved it and wish it was a bit closer to us!More

Brno is starting to be one of my favourite cities. Nice people, lot of good bars, good local wine, and more and more restaurants, where it is worth to go. One of these is definitely Kohout na vine (Coq au vin). Despite I expected something...totally different (the classic form of Coq au vin, but I´ve got some type French/Asian Fusion of that), the food was very delicious, wine choice also very large, and many thanks to our nice waitress. She was funny, kind, but not pushy or intrusive. Restaurant is not cheap, but also not overpriced. For sure I´ll come back once.More
